This picture was taken of me in 1942 when I was 4 years old. My mother had made the dress for me. It was a royal blue velvet and the star buttons were pink as was the hair bow. I felt so elegant and pretty :o)

They didn't LET us have our boyfriends in our senior pictures, Leigh Ann. I'm glad because it wasn't Mickey so I wouldn't be posting it!!!!

This one was taken in 1993. I was 56 years old and "THOUGHT" I was old!!!
I'm posting this because Leigh Ann's senior pictures were taken in the 1990's and I was already "old". By the way, for those of you who have read my post about my Angels birthday cake. This is the birthday cake my son-in-love, Dave baked for me. He had no idea what a big deal that would be for me as I'm had so few of them since I have a Christmas Birthday.
Thanks for letting me share these with you. Who else is going to follow Leigh Ann's request to share your senior picture? Be sure and let her (and me, too. Please) know so we can come look and see.
Happy Mother's Day
Sorry, nothing doing on sharing my senior pic, but I absolutely LOVE yours!! You were so cute Susan!!

Awwww....I love these pics! Your first one looks like the little girl in my favorite holiday movie, "It's a Wonderful Life".
ReplyDeleteI told Leigh Ann that I'd try to do this when I return from Toronto.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos of yourself growing up. It was fun to see. I'm going to try and do this next week too.

ReplyDeleteThose pics were wonderful! I will try and get mine posted. Momma Roar, I graduated in 1996 so mine aren't any better! Happy Mother's Day Susan! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up here on your last few posts...
Love seeing the vintage pics of you. I also enjoyed reading about the pocket watch you gave your husband for your vow renewal. I'm sure he cherishes it :)
Happy Mother's Day!
I can't believe you labeled them under "aging". How about "Still gorgeous after all these years"? Thanks for sharing, Susan!
ReplyDeleteI already posted photos of myself in my high school days. I guess you will have to read all of my 300+ posts to find them, haha. I didn't really even order senior pictures because I cut my hair all off right before and hated my photos.
Great pictures!! I think you looked lovely in all of them.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pictures!! I love your little girl picture. Thank you for sharing! (I wouldn't mind sharing mine, but I don't have a scanner.)
ReplyDeleteI loved this! I'll have to dig mine out. :)
ReplyDeleteYour senior picture is beautiful. My mom was born in 1946, and her senior picture has the same "feel" to it - I'm not sure what the adjective is... But, it seems like such an "elegant" time there is part of me that is sorry I missed it. :)
Thanks for sharing.
oh, what wonderful photos! photographs, old and new, are so special. they conjure up so many memories. they also give us a glimpse into your life. thank you for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeletehappy mother's day!
I love the photos. You are gorgeous now, and were then too! Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures!!!! They are all so pretty. It's so sweet how you still remember the pretty dress your mother made you and how you felt when you wore it. I feel the same way about some of the dresses my mother made for me when I was little, too!!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your pictures. I really love the first two! That was so sweet of him to make you that cake. My birthday is also in December and my mom had a goal of always trying to seperate my birthday and Christams.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll take you up on this one... I saw Momma Roar's senior picture, too and commented that we should have a share day. Sometime this week I'll post it....yikes!
ReplyDeleteI loved these photos! You did look so grown up at 13! and gorgeous in your senior picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks to Susan your friend for answering my question! Your lovely photo of you aged 4 - kept going through my mind - where had I seen before.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Wonderful Life!! One of my favourite movies too!!
