SHOW & TELL '08 #7 - Book Shelf

This Friday caught me off guard for Show & Tell due to the many posts I have been doing answering ALL the questions I was asked on my Blogoversary Celebration. But Friday at my house has to be Show & Tell so hop over to Kelli's and join in the fun.

Recently I shared with you about looking for a white bookcase for our Grandson's 9th birthday. We looked all over town, to no avail, and were so thrilled when we finally found one at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Well, later we stumbled on a new one!!!! My husband said, "You've been wanting another bookcase so why don't we buy this for Aric and you just keep the other one". Well, that didn't take any arm twisting on my part.

Here is the bookcase and my books which we placed in the office (where I live on my computer!!) I am so happy to have it. I was able to move all our travel scrapbooks from the top of my computer to the two bottom shelves and still had room to place the huge dictonary and family bible. The two upper shelves contain 92 of my Christian books. I have another 36 in various places around the house. It is so nice to be able to not have them double shelved and in alphabetic author order!!!! Also great that I have room for new ones I will be acquiring!!!!

  6. Terrific....but one question [oh oh....another question for you to answer] ---the name Aric, is that pronounced like Eric? How unique. I really like that.

My Show N Tell is shared, if you haven't stopped by I hope you will; for a visit.

  11. lol... I love how your happy to get new furniture. I get like that too! Now...just for fun, what I like to do with bookcases is cut some pretty fabric to fit the back portion only and glue it into place. If you use a mixture of white glue & water you can take it off easily later if you want to change it out. :-)

  13. Hootin Annie - Yes Aric is pronouced Eric. When the pediatrician asked the name at the birth, for the birth certificate her comment was, "You've got to be kidding!". We all love it.

  14. 92!!! Wow, I love your organization. I have a white bookshelf just like it...but I keep in full of stuff I am selling online. Sigh. One day I will have a regular bookshelf!

  16. What nice shelves. I'm sure it feels so good to be organized.

I must add that I read your blog-aversory questions.I loved your answer to Larissa's question about Mickey being the right one for you. What a touching story. Thanks for sharing that.

I also must add that I spend only one hour a day at blogging right not. I know that this is not the time and season in my life for blogging. I love it and could be addicted to it, but I set the timer, as my husband and young children need me at this time.

I didn't do show and tell this week, but I will next. Blessings, Kathi
