SHOW & TELL '08 #10 - Stained Glass - Pink

It's that time of week again, Friday, to meet at Kelli's for Show & Tell. Come and join the fun!!!

Today I wanted to share with you a piece of stained glass that hangs in our dining area. This is not the best picture with it peeking out between the lace curtains. If you look close you can see a red cardinal in the tree outside!!

When we lived in Albuquerque, in the 80's, I had the opportunity to own and operate a little craft store. This piece of beautiful stained glass work was made by one of our crafters. The outer rim is solid glass and then the green stem and pink flower are solid suspended with space around them. I just had to have this piece of art work because I thought it was so different and beautiful. I enjoy it as much today, 20 years later, as I did when I first purchased it. As always, thank you for letting me share with you one of the little treasures that adorn our home.

  4. It is gorgeous. Most stained glass doesn't have the spaces and I find that very attractive about this piece. I see your cardinal. I love them. I always love the things you share, Susan. God bless you.

  6. Very pretty and what luck to get the cardinal in the tree!!! I like the idea of having some stained glass panels in the windows. I think when we retire and build our cabin, I am going to search for the perfect one to put up!

  11. Its beautiful! I have always loved stained glass!!

The house I grew up in had an upstairs bathroom with a window. But the window wasn't on an outside wall - if you opened the window, you looked into the hallway. It was built in the late 1800s, so who knows what it was there for. ANYWAY, when my parents remolded the upstairs, they put in a beautiful stained glass window there - I loved being in the bathroom when the light came through it from the hallway window!!

I would enjoy seeing that everyday too!

Yes, DVD making takes a lot of time but it is very rewarding. I love to see all those pictures on our big screen TV and of course I always add music that I love.
