Friday, once again, and time for Show & Tell at Kelli's. Drop over and join in the fun of sharing something to Show & Tell.
This is my Fruit of the Spirit Flower Bed we are developing. Here were have just planted Golden Moneywort. This is a ground cover and will fill in and hopefully look like a little stream.
This is the flowerbed with nine different shaped rocks that each have the name of one of the Fruit of the Spirit on them. 
Click on the picture to enlarge and you can see these stones read Meekness, Faith, Love, Longsuffering, Gentleness & Temperance. 
Here you can see the stones reading Gentleness, Joy & Peace. There are 2 plain stones holding down the metal frame. I have planted 6 each zinnia, portulaca & verbena. I hope to show you this flowerbed again later when the plants have grown and filled in some. This is just my feeble start.
Galatians 5:22 - 23 "Now the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
Many people refer to the fruit as fruits (plural) of the Spirit, but it is all one fruit (singular) of the Spirit. May we each be walking in the Spirit of God, bearing and developing this fruit in our lives.

This is a great garden, I would love to do something like it too but do not have the room at this house. Great flower choices too.

ReplyDeleteSusan, these are awesome. For some reason, they remind me of "Armor of God PJ's". (www.armorofgodpjs.com). I know that the armor of God and the fruits of the spirit are two different things in the Bible, but it still reminded me of them. Also, thanks for your comment.

Susan, I just love your new garden! What a neat idea! ..and the barrel turned on it's side is so unique...looks like it is "pouring out the rocks and flowers!" Throw a little fertilizer to the verbena and portulaca, and it will be spreading like a wildfire in no time! This is going to be beautiful! I tried Portulaca for the first time this year, around my mailbox where nothing else will grow, and it is doing great! ...mulitplying like crazy!
ReplyDeleteThe cups and saucers on my post, are called the Azalea pattern, and are handpainted. I use to see them at auctions, and they were so expensive. We have a huge "Azalea Festival" here, so maybe that made them more desirable. But a couple of years ago, I found a whole 8 place setting, with several platters and bowls, on Ebay...for a great price! The shipping was more than the actual cost. But combined, they were still much cheaper than I had seen in the past! I just love them! Aren't they so delicate?
