Old Testament Bible Names of God

I just love the Hebrew name of our wonderful God and wanted to share them today with you.


Elohim - The Creator


El Elyon - The God Most High


El Roi - The God Who Sees


El Shaddai - The All-Sufficient One


Adonai - The Lord


Jehovah - The Self-Existent One


Jehovah-jireh - The Lord Will Provide


Jehovah-rapha - The Lord Who Heals


Jehovah-nissi - The Lord My Banner


Jehovah-Mekoddishkem - The Lord Who Sanctifies You


Jehovah-shalom - The Lord Is Peace


Jehovah-sabaoth - The Lord of Hosts


Jehovah-raah - The Lord My Shepherd


Jehovah-tsidkenu - The Lord Our Righteouness


Jehovah-shammah - The Lord Is There



JESUS - The name at which every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is



Adoni - LORD


What a wonderful name - What a wonderful Savior.

  10. Susan I just wanted to share with you that my husband is giving a lovely speach on two woman from the bible this Saturday and I am so proud of him it is a lovely piece that he hs written.

    I too love the different names of our lord and father.

  14. When I see all His names, I am reminded of those same ways that I need Him, and the ways that He just IS, my needs set aside. He is so great and so awesome. Thank you for sharing these wonderful names that represent our Lord. Blessings, Susan.

    And the partial verse from the hymn you added at the end...'Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord...'
