Comments & then VERY SERIOUS STUFF

Thank you so much to the 31 people that signed my guest book since I reposted it. I truly appreciate it.

Now to all of you who have not yet left me a comment:

'nuf said????
Truthfully, I would be so honored if you'd leave me a comment so I could come visit your blog and truly "meet" you and get to know you.

************

Now to really SERIOUS STUFF: .......I hope you all appreciate what a dire (Webster = dreadful; terrible) time our nation and our world are facing. Please join me in praying for these three critical things that are taking place this very week.

Tuesday TODAY - Israel will be getting a new Prime Minister. Netanyahu will be taking office at a time when Israel is under more threat than perhaps ever before. Pray for God's wisdom to lead and guide him. We are commanded in scripture Psalm 122:6a "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem."

Tuesday TODAY - The United States and Iran begin talks in the Netherlands for the first time since 1979.

Thursday - The G20 Summit opens in London and among many OTHER things will be discussion of Russian & Chinese proposal of creating a new, single common global currency!!!!! WHAT????? Did you HEAR that? Do we have ears to hear and eyes to see what is coming?

*********

Last but not least: BE SURE AND MAIL IN YOUR TEA-BAG on April 1st - TOMORROW. If you missed the information on this please go here to read about this movement and a peaceful way of protesting the massive spending that is taking place in Washington D.C. and the fact our children's and grandchildren's future is being indebted to such an extent life, as we have known it in the United States, will never be the same.

COMMENTS on Pump Up Your Life Seminar

Thanks for all the sweet confirming comments you left about the Woman's One Day Seminar our Church held Saturday.

I was asked several questions that I wanted to answer here:

Brenda asked: "Was this something your church put on and invited the guest speaker or is it a special program?" I answered this in the comments but some of you may not read all the comments so wanted to answer it here. Yes, it was put on by the 5 member Women's Ministry Council of our church. ALL of the 16 speakers are just woman from our church. Although there were 12 different subject choices several of the topics had more than one speaker. I shared the time on Pump Up Your Marriage Partnership with another gal who has been married 30 years and survived 7 building ventures. She spoke for 15 minutes and then I spoke for 15 minutes and then we had a 10 minute Question & Answer session. The guest speaker was an invited "guest" from outside our church body.

MeMaw said: "Maybe you could post something about which you presented?" & Momma Roar said: "I hope you'll be willing to share some of it here!" Those that have been reading my blog for the 2 1/2 plus years have probably heard it ALL as I speak often about my marriage and our family. I realize I have many new readers and I will put together a post on just this topic.

Kristie asked: "Did anyone record it?" and

Ginger said : "What no video to share of what you taught on?" No, it was not recorded or video taped. Probably a good thing because if I had to watch myself it would probably mortify me and I wouldn't be willing to do it again :o) I don't even like to hear my own voice!!!

Minpinmom asked: "Were you nervous speaking?" I was asked on Sunday the 15th if I would speak and I immediately replied, "Yes" so I had 13 days to think about it and mull it over in my mind. Immediately the Lord began to give me things I knew needed to be included. I finally got around to putting it down on paper on Tuesday the 24th (well typing it into Word. You know I am PENLESS WRITER!!!). I typed it out and then practiced it on Mickey on Wednesday and then again twice on Friday. I was not nervous about it at all until Friday and then I began to have a few nerves about it. You know all those lies satan tries to fill our mind with: Will I do it well enough?: Will I cry? Will I make a fool of myself? You know it;s all coming from the lies of satan because all these thoughts were centered around the "I"!!!! I kept speaking back that it wasn't about me, that it was about me allowing God to use me and in my weakness was HIS strength.

Even Saturday morning I was fine.......UNTIL.....I pulled into the parking lot at church and saw all the cars and realized how many woman were in there!!! I suddenly began to actually shake. When I walked in and signed my name on the name tags we all wore my hands were so shaky I could hardly write. I told the woman who asked me to speak how nervous I was and she said, "You'll do just fine." Then one of my dear, DEAR friends, Bible Study group member, and Prayer Warrior Intercessor came up and I said, "Oh, Wantha Ann, I'm sooo nervous. Be sure and remember to pray for me at 10 o'clock." She said, "We're praying right now!! She took my hands and we stood in the throng of women milling all around us and she prayed a mighty pray. As soon as she finished I was fine and never had another nervous moment or thought. Praise God for Christian friends and especially those who partner with us in prayer.

Our wonderful Pastor had just finished a preaching series on finding our "Gifting" and I had just taken a Motivational Gifts Survey that showed my gifting tied for both Teaching & Exhortation. We did not hand these in and no one knew my results except Mickey & I. I have always been comfortable speaking out in a small group setting, Mickey & I had a Bible Study in our home a few years ago and I was most comfortable leading in that, I do not have any trouble at all "speaking out" on my blog, but I had never been called upon to speak to a group of people, most of whom I did not personally know. When I was asked to speak I KNEW it was God saying to me, "Okay, Susan, I'm asking you to step out in faith and do what I'm calling and have equipped you to do." That's why I immediately said "okay" instead of doing the "religious" thing we so often do of: "Well, let me pray about it and I'll get back to you." I knew better than that!!!!

I'm glad I stepped out in that faith, I'm glad a was asked to speak, and my prayer is God will use me again when and as He sees fit to do.

PUMP-UP YOUR LIFE - One Day Seminar

I just spent one of the most enjoyable days this snowy day (yes we had snow today...brr) at this One-Day Seminar that the woman's group at our church put on. The event was from 8:30 to 2:00 and we had 4 Break-out Sessions. Each Session had 3 programs to choose from. That was the hard part.....only getting to be in 4 of the 12 selections :o(
I tried to take photo's of the program but they turned out so small I'll just list the schedule:
8:30-8:50 - Muffins & beverages in Jehovah Java Shop
8:50-9:00 - Welcome in the Youth Chapel
9:10-9:50 - Session #1 - Pump Up Your Prayer Life
Pump Up Your Physique (health & body)
Pump Up Your Parenting (tips & advice)
10:00-10:40 - Session #2 - Pump Up Your Praise & Worship
Pump Up Your Personal Times (Devotion & "me" time)
Pump Up Your Marriage Partnership I was privileged to speak
10:50-11:30 - Session #3 - Pump Up Your Purpose in Fasting
Pump Up Your Appearance
Pump Up Your Purchasing (thrifty ideas)
11:40-12:20 - Session #4 - Pump Up Your Potential through Bible Study
Pump Up Your Phases in Life (menopause & life changes)
Pump Up Your Presents/Presence (gifts & self-esteem)
12:30-2:00 - Lunch - Door Prizes & Makeover Reveal - Special Speaker: Tonya Rohr, Well-known Christian Speaker/Comedian (The lunch was delicious!)
The 4 sessions I chose to attend were #1 Your Prayer Life - #2 Your Marriage Partnership (since I spoke!) - #3 Your Purpose in Fasting - #4 Your Potential Through Bible Study.
It was ALL fantastic. I love, LOVE, LOVE, the local church God has seen fit to place Mickey & I in at this time in our life.
I was so happy to see so many young and younger woman sign up for the class I did on marriage. I had many who came up to me later and thanked me. I had ask for prayer covering from my prayer blog several weeks ago when I was asked to speak. I had written out what I planned to say, and had "rehearsed" to Mickey several times during the week.....but you know what.....I just spoke what the Lord put on my heart as I began, so much for the preparation !!! Of course we always want to be lead by The Holy Spirit.
The young woman who taught the class I attended on Fasting was awesome. I am just so proud of the woman in our church and what God is doing in all areas of our body.
We had a total of about 80 woman and with the snow that was really a good number who showed up. Us Okie's don't do snow very well!!!
I took my camera but the pictures did not turn out well enough to post :o(

CHILDREN ON ANGELS

Angels Explained By Children
I only know the names of two angels, Hark and Harold.
-Gregory, 5

Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists are working on it
-Olive, 9

It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to Heaven, and then there's still the flight training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes.
-Matthew, 9

Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else.
-Mitchell, 7

My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science.
-Henry, 8

Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows!!!
-Jack, 6

Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead.
-Daniel, 9

When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. And when he lets out his breath, somewhere there's a tornado.
-Reagan, 10

Angels have a lot to do and they keep very busy. If you lose a tooth, an angel comes in through your window and leaves money under your pillow. Then when it gets cold, angels go south for the winter.
-Sara, 6

Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his son, who's a very good carpenter.
-Jared, 8

All angels are girls because they gotta wear dresses and boys didn't go for it.
-Antonio, 9

My angel is my grandma who died last year. She got a big head start on helping me while she was still down here on earth.
- , 9.

Some of the angels are in charge of helping heal sick animals and pets. And if they don't make the animals get better, they help the child get over it.
-Vicki, 8

What I don't get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them.
-Sarah, 7

SHOW & TELL #4 - New Necklace

Happy Friday every one. Time for Show & Tell at Kelli's. Go here and share your Show & Tell and visit all the other fun and interesting things that other's are showing today.

I just recently saw a necklace that a friend of mine had of The Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church. Then she loaned me a book about this symbol being found in more recent years.

I had never seen this seal or even been aware of it.

Last Sunday evening our church had a Messianic Jew come and present a presentation of the Seder. It is the 3rd time Mickey & I have been privileged to attend a Seder meal and be taught the significance of all the parts of the Passover Meal and how it all relates to Christ.

The gentlemen who did the presentation had a table set up where he had a few books and other things he was selling after the dinner. My friend, Sandra, came over to me and said, "Did you see the Messianic Seal necklace?" I hadn't even looked at the table or anything on it.

My beautiful new Messianic Seal necklace I bought.

The Jewish Menorah (candlestick)

The Star of David

The Christian Fish

I am so happy with this symbolic piece and it is a treasure to me I wanted to share.

Thank you for visiting my Show & Tell.

BACKING UP MY BLOG

Thanks to my wonderful husband the task of backing up my blog for the years 2007 & 2008 is now complete!!!! YEAH Since we now have not one, but TWO computers, my sweet Mickey did the bulk of this task for me. I am truly so blessed. It ended up not being as huge a task as we had first thought it would be.

Several of you have left comments asking how we have done this. I know Blogger has instructions had to back up your blogs so you may want to check out their process. When we looked at it we did not fully understand it, and when they warned about maybe losing the header, etc. it scared us computer novices away.

For those of you who asked, here is what we did:

We began at the beginning and simply copied and pasted each individual post, including pictures, to Word.

Be sure and use a consistent system of saving/naming each post so they will stay in date order. What we used was: the year, the date, and then the name of the post. Example: 2007 0121 Here I Go - then the next post 2007 0126 Another Name, etc.

Once you have them all copied and pasted into Word be sure and go back and check that you did not miss or skip a post. Also, open up each post, there in your Word file, to be sure it has the post in it. In doing these 2 checks we found posts that we missed copying and a few files that were blank. Just go back to that particular post and re-do it. We re-checked ours by the month.

We chose to do ours for the full year before we put them into a folder. In other words we have a 2007 folder and a 2008 folder.

Mickey then burned them onto the computer disc as we finished the year.

I hope this will help you. If you still have further questions you can e-mail me. My e-mail address is on my "About Me" page.

Good copying and pasteing!!!!!

SOAKING IN THE WORD OF GOD

I just want to post today about being so blessed to be able and have the opportunity to soak in God's word and teaching.

Mickey & I have for years had our own devotional time each and every morning. We are reading out of two devotional books, and we read through the Bible (we read completely through various versions and then start another version) We are currently reading The Amplified Bible and are in Amos. Then we have prayer time.

It amazes me how God will so often speak directly to us. Saturday we read: "He suffered no man to do them wrong; yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." I Chronicles 16:21-22 Now even though God was speaking here to the Israelites we know The New Testament Lies Hidden in the Old Testament and we know that we have now been made the kings and priests of God: "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father:" Revelation 1:6a , we know we can claim that verse as our very own. As we are watching all that is going on around us in our world today what a comfort that HE SUFFERED (or permitted) NO MAN TO DO US WRONG. Hallelujah

Of course every Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday evening we get such wonderful and sound teaching from our Pastor. We always leave the services full and blessed with the teaching.

This past Sunday evening we had a Messianic Jew, Douglas Carmel, perform a Jewish Seder for us. This is the third time Mickey & I have been blessed to attend one of these meals. It is so wonderful to know that every part of the Jewish Passover meal represents our Lord Jesus Christ. We had invited our friends, Don & Barbara, to attended with us. There were about 200 of us who participated. I forgot to take my camera :o(

I shared with you that back in January one of the woman at my church started a home Bible study every Monday morning at 11. We have now been meeting for 11 weeks and it just gets better and better. We started out with just 3 of us and now there are 11 of us who attend. We have been listening to a tape series by Per*ry St*one on The Rapture. It is just awesome. Then we always have discussion and a prayer time. It is a wonderful time.

I've also brought 2 of this 4 tape series home and Mickey & I have listened to them together. They are that good. If you ever get a chance to view or buy them be sure to do so.

Then two weeks ago my new friend, Sandra, started a Tuesday evening Bible Study in her home. Sandra lives 26 miles from us and I told her it was too far for me to come on a regular basis but I'd come the first week to support her. Well, after the first meeting I came home and told Mickey, "I don't care if it is 52 miles round trip and at night.....I'm going every week." Sandra is a wonderful teacher. The first week she taught on "The Third Day". Last week she taught about "God speaking the world into existence" and followed that theme through the entire Bible into the New Testament. I have no idea what she'll be teaching on tonight but I know it will be good. I can't wait!!!

Thank you Lord that I am privileged to be saturated by your Word and teaching.

SHOW & TELL #3 - Turquoise Watch Band & MORE

Happy Friday to everyone. Since it is Friday it's time for me to participate in Show & Tell at Kelli's. Always a fun time of sharing my treasures and viewing the treasures and special things that others have to share. Go to Kelli's and sign up on Mr. Linkey and join the fun.

Last week I showed you a very old turquoise bracelet that had belonged to me mother.

Here are 3 different views of my Turquoise Watch Band
You can see it is made up of sterling silver, 4 larger size turquoise nuggets and then turquoise, coral & onyx inlay.

I treasure this watch band because it was a gift. When we lived in Albuquerque during the 1980's I was executive secretary to the president and owner of Bi*g O T1*res. He actually lived in Denver and commuted by his private plane to Albuquerque 3 days a week. He owned several of the stores in NM & Texas and there were also franchise stores. We had a monthly sales meeting and luncheon of all the owner's & dealers. I also talked to all these owner's and dealers when they would call to speak to the president.

I gave my 2 week notice that I was terminating. The next routine monthly meeting, which was to be my last, I was presented with this lovely gift from all the owner's & dealers. It was a TOTAL shock that brought tears to my eyes. I never expected to receive anything.

***************************

Now for the best thing of all to share!!!!! As many of you know my husband had open double bi-pass heart surgery on October 9th last year.

Yesterday we went to Oklahoma City VA Hospital for his check-up.

THEY ARE RELEASING HIM!!!!

His recovery is complete thanks to the Drs., Surgeons, Nurses and most of all, JESUS. He does not have to return to OKC for anything further. He will only see his primary care physician here in Tulsa.

HALLELUJAH!!!

RUSSIA TO PROPOSE NEW GLOBAL COMMON CURRENCY:

And the Kremlin is not alone

Amidst the global economic crisis in which upwards of 45% of the world’s wealth has been lost in the last 18 months, talk of radically restructuring the global economic system is growing. In recent weeks, leaders in Europe, Africa and the Middle East have proposed scrapping the current economic order and going to a single common currency.

A story in this morning’s Moscow Times – and featured prominently on the Drudge Report — is creating quite a stir in particular. At the April 2nd meeting of world leaders in London (the G20), the Kremlin is reportedly set to propose a new global common currency system that will replace the U.S. dollar as the international currency of choice.

The story notes that “the Kremlin’s call for a common currency is not the first in recent days. Speaking at an economic conference in Astana, Kazakhstan, last week, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed a global currency called the ‘acmetal’ — a conflation of the words ‘acme’ and ‘capital.’ He also suggested that the Eurasian Economic Community, a loose group of five former Soviet republics including Kazakhstan and Russia, adopt a single noncash currency — the yevraz – to insulate itself from the global economic crisis….Nazarbayev’s proposal did, however, garner support from at least one prominent source — Columbia University professor Robert Mundell, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1999 for his role in creating the euro. Speaking at the same conference with Nazarbayev, he said the idea had ‘great promise.’ The Kremlin document also called for national banks and international financial institutions to diversify their foreign currency reserves. It said the global financial system should be restructured to prevent future crises and proposed holding an international conference after the G20 summit to adopt conventions on a new global financial structure.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last week called for a single currency for 400 million Muslims in the Middle East. “The process of obtaining one single currency in the trade and exchanges among members, and in the next stages with other countries and neighbors, should be designed,” the Iranian leader said March 11th.

Libyan leader Muammar Ghadafi, recently elected leader of the African Union of states, is calling for a single currency for all of Africa and has persuaded 200 tribal leaders to call him the “King of kings.” The BBC reported in February that Ghadafi “envisages a single African military force, a single currency and a single passport for Africans to move freely around the continent.”
Europe, of course, was the leader in creating a single regional currency. Last year, the EU celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the creation of the “euro,” a move that has been widely considered a success and a model for other regions.

These are curious developments given that scholars of Bible prophecy have long noted that according to the Scriptures, in the “last days” the world will see the emergence of an entirely new international financial architecture, complete with a single global currency created and mandated by the leaders of Europe. The Bible indicates that no one will be able to engage in commerce without “buying in” to the new cashless system. The prophecy is found in Revelation 13:16-17, which reads: “And he [the world leader that emerges from a revived Europe] causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one can buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.”
Cynics and skeptics have long dismissed such talk as the province of “religious nuts” and “prophecy buffs.” But the discussion has suddenly blown past the realm of Bible scholars and is now the discussion of major world leaders. It’s too soon to say where this will all lead, but these are certainly developments worth watching.

For us who know the Lord and are called by His name ..... look up, our redemption draweth neigh!!! For you who do not , I pray that you will accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus has already purchased for you. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth and you will be saved. Read Roman Chapter 8.

In those brown paper bags were gifts for each of us from Ron & Dody. Here is Mickey's little leprechaun standing by a mushroom

Here is my little Bonsai tree with a little leprechaun in the branches.

As always a grand time was had by ALL when the 8 of us get together.

Royal Rangers Pinewood Car Derby & Sleep-over

Aric & his grandpa (that would be the Mickey) have been busy the last several weeks getting Aric's pinewood derby car ready for the big race.

A close-up of the finished car.

6:30 Friday night was the big race!! The first thing they had to do, when getting to the church, was register and weigh-in their car.

The electronic track showing 0000 on the timer.

The races are underway as Aric, with his dad, Marc, behind him watching them go.

Aric's white car crossing the finish line as a winner in one of the races.

He has crossed the finish line again as the winner in his class. Aric's 4th grade level had 3 cars entered and they ran 3 races. Aric won all 3 races and the Blue Ribbon

Cars in the Best of the Show category. Aric car won 2nd place and a red ribbon in this.
The red car next to him won 1st place and the blue ribbon.

A very happy 10 year old, 4th grader with his 1st & 2nd place blue & red ribbons.

Of course there were hot-dogs, chips, soda's and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and various games after the race.

At 9 they had lock-in for the night. Marc went home at this point but Aric & Grandpa did the sleep-in. Mickey had taken a double air mattress that blew-up for the two of them to sleep on. Aric with his bedroll and Grandpa with his comforter. Just one problem.....the air mattress did not stay blown up!!!! Oh well, such are the joys of being a grandpa and a Royal Ranger leader.

The next morning the very tired grandson and grandpa came and got grandma and the three of us went to Aric's favorite spot in Coweta. The Sticky Bun's doughnut shop!! Grandma likes it, too :o)

SHOW & TELL #2 - Turquoise Bracelet

Since it's Friday that means it's Show & Tell time at Kelli's. Pick something special to show us. After you write your post sign up on Mr. Linky so other's can come and see and read about it. It's lots of fun and some really neat & unusual things are shown.

I am showing a piece of my Indian Jewelry.

This turquoise bracelet is special to me for several reasons:

  1. It was given to my mother, by my older sister and her husband as a gift.

  2. It was a blue ribbon winner at the New Mexico State Fair in the 1950's.

  3. My mother gave this bracelet to me before her death in the 1980's.

  4. I was born and raised in New Mexico and have a love of the culture.

The bracelet is constructed as follows:

  1. It has 3 bands of silver that run from one side to the other.

  2. Each side has the identical etched silver shape on the side of the stone.

  3. The stone itself is surrounded by a twisted silver filigree.

  4. The stone is a large beautiful turquoise.

This bracelet will remain in our family and be handed down as a heirloom.

Thank you for letting me show you my lovely 50+ year old tuquoise bracelet and share it's history with you.

TEA PARTY - Tea Bags

I recently received the following e-mail. Let's all get behind this. Let's STAND-UP
and start doing SOMETHING. Let's begin to take our country back. If you don't like the changes you see being made in Washington and do not like the direction you see our country going TAKE A STAND.
TEA BAGS
There's a storm abrewin'.
What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet?
Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer.

I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan.
I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves have defaulted on their taxes.
I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar.
I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly,
bought more house than they could afford.
I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes.

I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen.
I pay my taxes.
I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make.
I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first.
No one listened.
They voted for it, pork and all.
O.K. folks, here it is.
You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference.
Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!!
If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes.
If you are fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become
ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD
FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA .

There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens.
What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

SO, HERE IS THE PLAN
On April 1, 2009, all Ameicans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C.
You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire.
Just a TEABAG.
Many cities are organizing protests.
If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up.
If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG.
Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.
This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1.
Why, April 1??
We want them to reach Washington by April 15.
WILL YOU DO IT?
I WILL!!

Comment Notification

After blogging for 26 months I had to put comment notification on my blog.
Why?
Because I had 35 anonymous comments on my blog this morning.
ALL span of some kind with a Chinese or Japanese language.
I truthfully don't know the difference.
Have any of the other of you had to deal with this type situation?

I had a couple of these several weeks ago and thought it was just a fluke.

Apparently not.

Whom ever you are....I will not be intimidated.

BACKING UP MY BLOG & a tip

I had wanted to make copies of my blog for some time but just never did anything about it. You know how something nags at the back of your mind, but then you ignore it? That is where I was at. Then after hearing of one blogger losing every single post they had EVER posted and neither they or Blogger being able to retrieve them we decided we were going to get busy on this project.

I know blogger has a way to do this, but it sounded too complicated for us, and there was also a risk of losing your header according to them. What we are doing is copying them, post by post, by the year, to Word and then burning them onto a CD. This way we will have them.

Back in 2007 I spent days and days scanning a lifetime of photos into the computer. Now in 2009 we are spending days and days copying every single post into Word. So far we have done 4 of the 26 months I have been blogging.

It is so wonderful for Mickey to have his own computer now and he is helping with this BIG task. One of the main purposes for my blog is for a record for our children and grandchildren when we are gone. This effort is a way that we can be assured of that.

*************

Now for the tip: When I had the background of my blog changed to the dark blue it currently is back in July of 2007 it did not change the colors of the type I had used. Consequently a lot of the words, or script, was not readable. The result of this is that it was necessary to go back and re-type these posts over. When the change was made I re-typed some of them and then, like so often happens, got side-tracked and never got back to that job. As we are now copying them, post by post, I am having to re-type a very large part of them. A LOT of work, let me tell you!!!!

Just wanted to pass this along to you as I know a lot of you change your designs and backgrounds and this may be something to consider in case you ever desire to make a permanent, readable copy of your blog.

MICKEY'S GARDEN #1

In February I posted about this new above ground garden box that Mickey made this year to add to the two 4' x 4' boxes he had made several years ago.

New 12' x 4' box

Two weeks ago he hauled in 2 truck beds full of Sandy Loom or Top Soil

And 2 truck beds full of compost.

Last week he got this truck bed full of manure, from Tra*vis and San*dra, that he is mixing in and topping off with.
He will be planting onion sets, onion seeds, lettuce & spinach in the large box the lateral part of this month, according to the Farm*er's Al*manac. At the same time he will be planting potato's in an area behind the fence. Then he'll wait for warmer weather to plant the other items.
***********
For those of you who are wondering how Mickey is doing since his open heart surgery in October of last year.......hauling in these pickup loads of dirt tells it all. God has healed him and he's good as new. Praise to our wonderful GOD.
