I know I talk a lot, but it's very rude to watch someone turn their eyes away or break in with their opinion even before I finish a thought. It makes me work harder at listening to others.

I'm printing this off and taking it to work. We need to listen to patients and this is a wonderful reminder to really use both ears!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-9405476928270086682009-10-25T14:00:06.708-05:002009-10-25T14:00:06.708-05:00TrueTruerethahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02484633298560719999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-34389813139711389282009-10-24T23:03:45.697-05:002009-10-24T23:03:45.697-05:00Remember what I said the other night at bible stud...Remember what I said the other night at bible study......when Susan talks, we listen!!!!!!!
That's because we respect and love you.

I think I'm a fairly good listener unless it is someone who talks all the time, then I tune out about half of what they say. I try to hear what God is saying in a given situation...that's just how I do it. As a blogger, I often will pray in how to reply. I think that's a form of listening. Now for a true report, ask my children and my husband. : ) I know I have loads to learn however...so thankful for the patience of those around me that I fail as a listener.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03852361286674074590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-18601263120566087702009-10-24T21:30:01.897-05:002009-10-24T21:30:01.897-05:00I'm afraid I just got my feet stepped on. You can't listen if someone has nothing to say, and you can't talk if someone else never stops. Good listening is an art form.Danny Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15006024707303951009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-4246492520669705602009-10-24T16:35:06.133-05:002009-10-24T16:35:06.133-05:00Thanks for the reminder that we need to be for oth...Thanks for the reminder that we need to be for others and not just be heard.Vaxcelhttp://www.lightingtheweb.com/category_s/7726.htmnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-66423465286214472962009-10-24T13:04:47.925-05:002009-10-24T13:04:47.925-05:00Thanks for this good reminder, Susan. It should be no wonder that communication is suffering in the world today...when I watch Fox news, and listen to both "sides" talking over each other, there's no way either of them are listening to the other's view point. Yes, it a characteristic of love to listen...it means that you are "thinking of others as better than yourself" rather than "puffing yourself up in your own mind".

God bless,
MaryMaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15369867469773842215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8183659495792368796.post-59156534861933070812009-10-24T11:11:59.480-05:002009-10-24T11:11:59.480-05:00I like to think I'm a good listener, but too o...I like to think I'm a good listener, but too often I find myself thinking of a response while listening.
