My Show & Tell for today is this tiny 4" mirror.
This tiny make-up/purse mirror was a Christmas gift to me when I was 13 years old. That makes it over 50 years old. It was a gold color, but you can see it has aged----as have I!!!!!! I treasured it as a young teen because it came from 5th Avenue. I have no idea whether Edward Steiner is still in existence but this is a happy memory for me. Thanks for letting me share another childhood treasure with you.
That is one precious treasure to hold on to, literally!!! It's so intricate in design too.

ReplyDeletei love this mirror. not only is it beautiful, but it's old. i even looked up ernest steiner and 5th avenue to see if i could find out anything about it. not much. mr. steiner was a designer of high quality costume jewelry in the 40's and 50's. that makes your mirror pretty cool since it's not a piece of jewelry.

Yes, I agree with the others it is lovely. I like it came with a small bag. The pattern is lovely it also look like the mirror did not change with age.

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little hand mirror! I have seen little mirrors in bags like that, but not a mirror with a handle! Nice treasure! Some people have called me a pack rat because I keep things so long, aren't we glad we did!!

My friend just gave me one for my birthday...it's very similar, but new of course. I love it. It came in a little soft case too. Do you carry yours all the time. I love mine and use it daily.
