SHOW & TELL #12 Votives

It's Friday and that means it's Show & Tell hosted by Kelli at There Is No Place Like Home. Post your Show & Tell and then go here to post it on Mr. Linky.

It's so much fun so please join in!!!!

Most of the items I've shown on Show & Tell have been items with a lot of history and meaning to me from my past.

This week is entirely different.

These are the 4 votive candle holders that I won in Leigh Ann's recent birthday celebration where she gave a gift away for each of the first 10 days of July to celebrate her birthday on July 10th.
I was blessed to be one of the 10 who won and these were my lovely gift.

I have placed them on my computer desk in front of the 12 scrapbooks of our travels.
To the left is a rock from Pictou, Nova Scotia from the Ship Hector launching on September 19, 2000.
To the right is a rock from Halifax I picked up on
September 14, 2000.

It is interesting how we have "stages" in our lives.
I find it intriguing that this new stage of my life, BLOGGING, is represented and surrounded by pleasant memories of my past.
There is no question that my life entered an entirely new stage when I began my Penless Writer blog on January 31, 2007.
I have no idea where God is taking Penless Writer but I know my steps are ordered of the Lord and that gives me great comfort to know I am in His perfect will.

Thanks again Leigh Ann by blessing me with this lovely momento.

I also have to give mention to Amber, of Trust in the Lord, for the Land's End Gift Certificate I won on her blog on July 10th. I don't have a "show" yet, because I haven't spent it!!!

but I can certainly "tell".

Yes, those votives are lovely! Hmm, I was interested to know about those books behind them. I say you can always tell more about a person by what books they own!

Those are wonderful prizes, Susan.

Like you, this blogging is making me remember wonderful memories from my life and family and travels. Maybe our blogs will be journals for our ancestors some day.

I love those votives. I own them, and I love the way they flicker and warm up a space when lit! Congrats on winning...Leigh Ann's birthday week was SO much fun!

I have loved blogging, too...it's been so fun to meet so many women with so many inspiring things to share!

What a fun way to celebrate a birthday! Cute candle holders.
There are so many contests going on in blogville right now it's crazy!
I will be drawing for mine later too!
Thanks for your encouragement Susan. I really appreciate it. My mother is a wonderful example of love and service and has been a Christian all my life, but it is nice to have someone with your classification as a mentor.

My children recently said that blogging is going to end up a legacy to them from me. A sharing of stories, of what is important to me that they may have never have known except through this form of journaling.
I love your votive holders, and I too have rocks from special places

What a wonderful idea. First of all, I never knew anyone who actually put all their pictures in albums... =) I know lots that have good intentions. I love your thoughts that this new stage is surrounded by old memories!!

I love fancy little votive candle holders - those are so pretty! And they look so lovely lined up along your bookshelf. What a fun Show-and-Tell.
I agree with Patty - from the daughter's side of things. My mom has been blogging in the last year and it has been so special to see pictures of her youth and of our family today, as well as her thoughts and memories.

Your votive candles are so nicely displayed. Blogging does seem to be this "stage of life" for me too. It's a great way to reflect and share other "stages of our life" isn't it!!

I love the combining of the memories and stages of your life. I think that Leigh Ann was wonderful and I am so happy that you are blogging.

I was so tired from my visit with my sister that I opted out today of show and tell, so I am happy to see others show and tell!

Memories are made every single day and they don't have to be "long time ago" memories to be special. I have also picked up small stones from interesting places..but they have to be interesting, too! No ordinary rock will do ;)
Great Show and Tell...have a fun weekend. Cassie
