FLY THE FLAG CAMPAIGN

This is a republish of a post I made on September 1, 2007.
With the important election coming up this year it is even more important that we fly our flag. Not only in remembrance of 9/11, but to remind us of the importance to pay attention to the issues in this election, and be preparing to vote on November 4th.

Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign. It is just 10 days to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America.

THE PROGRAM IS THIS: On Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States.

Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this sixth anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, AND those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared.

Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

So here's what to do: (1) Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you. (2) Fly an American flag, of any size, on 9/11.

Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

We fly a 3'x5' most every day, unless the weather is really bad. Mickey went out yesterday and purchased two of the little flags to put on our vehicles on 9/11. Remember the ones that clip on the window that so many of us flew right after 9/11?

Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America.

Thanks for spreading the word. We have a large flag to put outside our front door. We will be sure it goes up on that day! (right now the flag of Flanders is there because my hubby is a pro cycling fan and celebrates the time of the spring classic season)

I think it is time to put up our US flag though! It is a great way to help the citizens of our nation feel united and to remember those we lost.

We have one out front, one out back, and 3 stuck in planters. It's my way of honoring Jason until he comes home. I will have them up on Sept. 11.

I do like the way Americans fly their flags. We used to when children but in these days there is so much political correctness that in someplaces it is banned in case it upsets minoprities or the like.

That really is a great idea for the American people! Actually, all the countries should be flying their own flag all the time to show patriotism. I fly my Canadian flag all the time:-) xoxo

Your campaign is a very patriotic gesture. Some times we need to take a minute and thank God that we were born in a country where we have so many freedoms.
