SHOW & TELL #21 - Paint by Number
Okay.....Here it is Friday again and Show & Tell time at Kelli's of There Is No Place Like Home. Go here and find out ALL about it, if you don't already know. Then pick something to Show and Tell us about. Put it on Mr. Linky's at Kelli's and then have a great time visiting all the other Show & Tell posts. It's such fun. Trust me!!!
I am showing another paint-by-number today.
I did this one in 1953 as a gift for my father.
He grew up on a farm and loved this scene because it reminded him of Kansas.
This painting hung in my parents home for years and now I proudly have in in my bedroom as a reminder to me of my beloved father.

I am always talking about the wonders of this blogworld and I have another neat thing to share with you.
Last week I did another posting about our hot air balloon adventures with Suzy Blue. That very evening I received an e-mail from a young man who had googled about ballooning in New Mexico and my post came up.
His parents owned a hot air balloon and he wondered if I remembered them and him.
He was 9 years old at the time!!!!
I remember him very well, our son, Marc, was 13 at the time!!
He has owned and flown his own balloon for 15 years and currently lives in California.
What a joy and treat to hear from him, and get an update on his parents.
This great big world indeed becomes very small with blogging.
Thanks Jeff for contacting me!!
It was great hearing from you and knowing you remembered Suzy Blue so well.

What great memories to have and I love that you kept this paint by number all these years. A treasure.
I remember my first paint by number and then my first painting that looked like a paint by number :)
Your father must have treasured this painting you did for him. I love the farm scene!
How neat that Jeff contacted you after all these years..
The internet is just amazing isn't it!

That is one of the prettiest PBNs I've ever seen! I love paintings of barns! Such nice memories too.
Great "Jeff story!" Now that is more than a coincidence - it's a God-incident!!
Katherine
My mother loved doing paint by numbers. She had them proudly framed and hanging in our kitchen. I used to think they were beautiful.
That painting you did for you father is beautiful! I bet your dad cherised it...
Thank you for sharing :)
I always click over to you first thing to see what your're showing and telling. You were/are a very talented painter. I tried those when I was younger and would always "flub" practically the first time I put my brush down on the canvas. And, what a small world about the man who contacted you. Blogging is great, huh?
Susan the picture is lovely! Sounds like you had a wonderful father from all you have shared about him.
What a neat story too about the man that emailed you!
I love the paint by number...great picture!
Suzie Blue is still sending Blessings your way...how great!
That is so neat! I wish I had kept mine.
Love your paint by number, and what great memories it holds!
Your picture is beautiful. I loved your story about meeting people through the blog world.
Have a great week.

Susan, that is a very serene picture of the barn....I know your Dad enjoyed it.....
It is a small world and it is getting smaller every day due to just what we're doing......blogging.....
Thanks for the visit...Betty
That balloon story is amazing! Such a small, small world.
And paint by numbers older that me! And I'm as old as dirt (as my 3rd graders used to tell me). Very cool!
I'm sure your father treaseured that painting.
I love your internet story. How amazing.
nice picture. i'm assuming you have it hanging somewhere. i love the fact that you have so many things that are old - that you've kept them.
and yes, i agree, blogging makes the world a smaller place.
Great painting!
only a VERY COOL LADY would have dark blue bedroom walls!
oh yeah, and lovely painting.
I love that you now have that painting in your home now. Too many times these treasures get tossed aside through the years.
How great for you to have been contacted by someone that knew you! Small (blog) world. ;0)
love it! it looks lovely ...
Wow...what a neat story.
Hugs!
Kat

Kelli

Susan, after a long break from blogging I come back to find your blog page filled with joy and many blessings as always.
How wonderful that your dad proudly kept your gift to him over those many years and to now have it as a reminder of not only your love of your dad but his love of his daughter.........see what I mean about your blog being full of joy and many blessings.
Your friend Lee-ann
