SHOW & TELL #27 - Old very small mirror

Happy Friday everyone!!! Friday means Show & Tell. Drop over to Kelli's at There Is No Place Like Home, sign up on Mr. Linky and visit all the blogs that post their items today. It's always such a treat.

My Show & Tell for today is this tiny 4" mirror.

This tiny make-up/purse mirror was a Christmas gift to me when I was 13 years old. That makes it over 50 years old. It was a gold color, but you can see it has aged----as have I!!!!!! I treasured it as a young teen because it came from 5th Avenue. I have no idea whether Edward Steiner is still in existence but this is a happy memory for me. Thanks for letting me share another childhood treasure with you.

i love this mirror. not only is it beautiful, but it's old. i even looked up ernest steiner and 5th avenue to see if i could find out anything about it. not much. mr. steiner was a designer of high quality costume jewelry in the 40's and 50's. that makes your mirror pretty cool since it's not a piece of jewelry.

thanks for sharing. hope you have a great weekend.

What a neat treasure!

I was blessed to scroll through your posts and read of the new babes in Christ. How wonderful! We have some prodigals in our extended family and church family for whom we hope the same results.

Yes, I agree with the others it is lovely. I like it came with a small bag. The pattern is lovely it also look like the mirror did not change with age.

I love the little mirror and its bag. What fun to have such childhood treasures. I don't have much left from those days - we moved too much!

I just read down your posts and learned of your prodigal's return. What an awesome story! We know how you fel - our prodigal was returning just as I started blogging a year and a half ago. If you're interested, the series that we wrote is on my sidebar "A Story of Deliverance."

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

What a sweet little hand mirror! I have seen little mirrors in bags like that, but not a mirror with a handle! Nice treasure! Some people have called me a pack rat because I keep things so long, aren't we glad we did!!

I have just read the awesome and inspiring story about your son (and his wife, too) who have returned to God. I am blessed with two young sons, and I can't imagine the heartache you and your husband must have experienced during the years you didn't hear from him. I admire your strong faith and trust in God to return your son to that place he belongs -- in fellowship with you and with God. I am so happy for you. THanks for your inspiring story. demetria -- theonlygirlhere.blogspot.com

You have the coolest stuff ever! I used to get my winter coats from my mom's rich friend. She bought them on Park Ave. in NYC. I thought I was the prettiest little girl alive in my rich peoples clothes. Your post brought back a warm and wonderful memory of my childhood :o)

Love you Susan!!!!

Your mirror is sweet, a treasure. Thanks for commenting on my blog today. You're so right that Satan does not let go quickly or silently. But Jesus is Lord and David and Nicole are back.

Susan, you are such a great Christian testimony and encourager to so many of us. Thank you.

My friend just gave me one for my birthday...it's very similar, but new of course. I love it. It came in a little soft case too. Do you carry yours all the time. I love mine and use it daily.

Hugs!
