One of my blog friends, Danny of The Bumbling Genius, has just written one of the most poignant, moving posts I have read in a long time.

As we have just finished celebrating Independence Day and our Freedom I truly hope everyone who comes to read my post today will go read THE BLOOD OF THE CHILDREN this wonderful, thought provoking truth about the condition of our society and the horrific price our children are paying. Then pray for God to help us. You will be glad you did.

I have read the complete post that you refer to. If you want my opinion Penless (and you probably don't) it is through the ballot box* (to get the Democrats elected) and international aid (to ease global homelessness, starvation and general misery) that there is a chance of a solution. Pious "praying to God" will not be effective unless it is supported by action.

I really don't want to sound offensive but that is my considered opinion.

*Provided of course there is no "hanging chad" scandal that ensured the spurious election of the current disastrous President.

I always am willing to hear your opinion, Maalie, you know that. We just seldom agree!!!

In response to your comment:

How do you equate homelessness, starvation & general misery with lewdness, child porn and murder and abuse of children? I know that all are terrible but I don't think those three terrible things are the "cause" of the others.

I do agree with you that pious "praying to God" will not be effective unless it is supported by action. The Bible speaks of this in James 2:18 "Yes, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works." Surely, you must believe I believe in "doing" as well as speaking.

Penless, thank you for your considered reply. I was going to transfer your reply here (because it honestly has nothing to do with the crab-catching topic in my own post and it would be more in context here.

But I see you have already made your reply here - thank you.

I've been so far behind with reading some of my favorite blogs, I'm trying to catch up. I always enjoy your subjects, and admire the way you reply to some comments. I read the recommended blog, and find it heartbreaking. I pray constantly for our grandchildren's protection.
