EDITORIAL & A FRUGAL TIP

The dow is down 777.68.
All the commentators (common taters!) are telling us the sky is falling.
One of them is now on TV (CNN) saying Sarah Palin should drop out because,
"She didn't even understand Katy Couric's questions."
We have been watching (listening mostly ) most of the day and just can't believe how out of control our country is.
BUT
"Our faith is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ"
PERIOD.
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Matthew 6:19-21

Watching our spending closely: Saturday my husband needed to go to Wa*lmart to buy 25 lbs of sugar to feed his bee's. ( You have to feed the bees, after you take their honey so they can rebuild it up to make it through the winter months when there are no flowers. ) The 25 lbs sack of sugar was $14.58. I always try and check prices and I noticed the 10 lb packages were $4.86......well it doesn't take too much smarts to know that 3 times $4.86 is $14.58.....SO we bought 3 - 10 lb bags and ended up with 5 lbs sugar "free". I call this being not only Frugal but Prudent!!!

Great post, Susan!
So glad our foundation is not the U.S. currency...but Jesus!

That was neat about what you shared on my post concerning some of your church going to see Fireproof!

Hugs,
~Tammy

Great job getting 5 lbs of free sugar! My hubby has taught me how to pay more close attention to the price/unit on items and it really pays off.
Blessings!

Makes one wonder where all of this will end. Heard on the news tonight that today was the worst day in the Stock Market and it will just keep getting worse before it gets better.

Great deal on the sugar...I do the same thing, when the smaller packages are on sale, I figure out if it's cheaper to buy a few of the small bags compared to the big ones. Now if only our governments would be as frugal! lol xoxo

Yep! The common taters are saying the sky is falling. I LOVE that dollar bill--almost as much as the two dollar one I have with Al Gore on it.

You are right--the financial institutions are not our foundation. We have a sure foundation.

And you are right: we really need to check out those big packages vs. the smaller ones.

Love the money picture! What I'm realizing more and more is that it's the little ways of wisdom (in this case, being frugal) that the Lord gives us to help us thru these trying times financially.
God bless,
Brenda :)pvrgfb

Thank you Editor Susan!
We call CNN the Communist News Network because they seem to love to blame America first for everything negative! I hardly watch them anymore but do tune in occasinally to hear their side. Tonight however, hubby and I were shocked that they put on a relatively pleasant short piece about Sarah Palin.I hope they're finally realizing the regular folks like fair and balanced and are possibly making some changes, because FOX news is beating their behinds in the ratings!
Oh and about all networks - weren't they warning us that the world would end like last Friday or something! *winks*

Haha, common tatters. I got a kick out of that. I guess I am easily amused.
