GO VOTE

This is a great country! To keep it that way,

We each have a role and a part we must play.

With different opinions, we won't all agree,

Who to elect, but thank God we are free!

So Make up your mind and go vote.

Know what you believe and who you support.

And who are the judges you want on the court.

Ask the hard questions, then you must decide,

The person you choose. Let your heart be your guide.

Just remember you have to go vote.

The party's important. Know where you stand.

But choosing a leader is more than a brand.

One nation, united. "In God we trust".

He answers our prayers, but remember you must,

Go pick up your ballot and vote.
Poem by Peter Enns
************

"We've grown in numbers and wealth and power as no other nation has grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. We've vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our own hearts that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. It behoves us then to humble ourselves before the offended power, to confess our national sins and to pray for redemption and forgiveness." Abraham Lincoln

It's so important for us to vote today. I'm praying that McCain wins and that people will see the light.

What a powerful quote! And, like Tina said, so much more true today. And we see where forgetting God has gotten this nation. :(

I plan to vote! :-) (hopefully without any children along)

Just got back from voting. Fortunately, no lines! This was Chelsie's first time so she was a little nervous. And expressed her nervousness about the outcome. I just reminded her that God will still be the same God no matter who wins. BUT may righteousness prevail!
God bless,
Brenda

Great quote! I mailed our ballots yesterday!

Tonight my family, as in extended family, are all going out to dinner so that we aren't all home on our duff's glued to the tv.
