WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY

I shared with you one of my friends at Church, Judy, started a Woman's Bible Study at her home on January 12th. The first meeting we had only 3 of us: Judy, myself and a friend of Judy's she use to work with, Linda. Today we had 11 of us!! God is faithfully adding to our group.

This picture was taken last week when there were 9 of us present.
Left to right: Thelma, a member of our Church; Judy, our hostess; Linda a life-long friend of Wantha; Wantha, a member of our Church; Gail, a friend of Judy's; Barbara, a member of our Church; Pat, a friend of Judy's; in front, Shirley; a member of our Church. I am of course taking the picture :o) Not shown and present this week: Linda, Judy's friend who was there with us the very first week; Betty, a member of our Church; and Martha, Judy's neighbor.

The first several weeks we just got to know each other and let the Lord lead the meeting for that day. We also had 2 weeks that the meeting was called off due to the ice storm. Then 4 weeks ago we began watching an 8 hour tape series by Per*ry St*one on The Rapture. Any of you who are familiar with Per*ry know what an outstanding Bible scholar and teacher he is. I have studied a lot on this subject over the years. 10 years ago, in 1999 Mickey & I attended a conference in Dall*as by Ha*l Lin*dsey, and we have been to various prophetic conferences over the years. When Mickey & I were first saved, back in the late 1950's, there was great emphasis put on The End Times prophecies in the church we were saved in. Because of that it has always been a topic of interest to us.

These tapes and messages are opening our eyes even further to what the Bible truly has to say on this subject. We are all being so blessed and eagerly await our Monday gathering.

Judy lives out in the country on acreage and when the Lord first put this on her heart she thought, "No one will be willing to drive clear out here once a week for a Bible Study." Well, we do!!!! and we do so willingly and eagerly. God knew what He was doing when He put this on Judy's heart. Oh, what a lesson of obedience.....if we just listen and do what He says, He will always make a way and bless.

When we finish this 8 hour series on The Rapture we have another 8 hour series on Revelation. The group decided to study The Rapture first and then do Revelation. It was a hard choice because both are so very important.

You know, Revelation is the only book in the Bible where God actually promises a blessing to those who read it: Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." There is also 2 Peter 3:3&4 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

How many of you have done any study on The Rapture of The Book of Revelation? I would love to hear your comments and thoughts on this very important, especially in the day we are living, subject.

How exciting. We have attended several bible study units on the rapture and Revelation. Exciting and times filled with hope and change for sure.

By the way I have the same Eskimo Joes sweatshirt that the woman in the middle is wearing.(silly I know to notice that)

The times we live in are increasing in globalization, the nearness of one world currency, a global leader, and a collapse that may need a unifier to fix. Combine the increase of tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanoes, floods, famines and wars and WOW...then focus on Israel...Iran and Russia and china having talks and war games together...it lines up more and more.

Then take the travel and to and fro of knowledge. None can disagree that we are in exponentially impressive times. How about the complete breakdown of mores, values and customs in society? I wrote about people going to a zoo to watch animals procreate...as a date that was highly publicized and not in the shadows. Or what about the increase in abortion funding making the numbers potentially increase to more than 5000 per day if the money is used.

What about the complete breakdown of the family? Blatant abuse of the body, the sexualization of children. Yes Susan we must look to the book of Revelation to be prepared for what is coming. He is coming, and the rapture will occur. We must ignite others and excite others of the only Hope one can find in times like these.
Sorry to be so long winded, I just feel an urgency.

Thanks Jen (Humble wife). I appreciate your comments. Yes, we must be Watchmen on the Wall and declare, and shout if we must, the truth!!!

Everyone in this area has an Eskino Joe's sweatshirt!! They originated in Stillwater, OK. Funny story: when we were in Alaska we walked into an eatery with ours on and the little hostess almost shouted with glee, "Eskimo Joes!!! I went to college in Stillwater". The entire eatery became involved in this exchange. Our world is indeed small, and getting smaller.

I've studied scriptures in Revelation pertaining to other topics, but not necessisarily the whole book.
Right now understanding our role as kings and priests--mentioned in Rev.

What a great group of ladies. I know you are enjoying their fellowship as well as what you are learning. I enjoyed watching Hal Lindsey on TV. I think he was taken off a while back. Maybe I just haven't tuned in at the right time. I spent most of my life in a church that didn't believe in the rapture but after reading books about it and studying more about it in the Bible I now do believe in it and I'm thinking our world is getting very close with the things that are currently happening. Whenever I start despairing in the way our economy and everything else that is happening so fast in our country, I realize that God is in control and evidently this is the way it is supposed to happen. It's exciting and scary at the same time.

Matt just finished a year long study of Revelations with the teen boys at church. It is pretty interesting!

The late Pastor D. James Kennedy taught that the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ were the same event.. I am inclined to agree with him.

Those sound like really interesting studies. I did a study on revelations but it's been a long time. I think I'll suggest this when my group finishes the book we are using now.

Dave listens to Perry everyday. He's been talking about the phophecies and end times. He just loves him. He has spoken at our church a few times and he is always good. He is coming again soon.

What a great study for you. I wish I was sitting there with you.

I have enjoyed studies of Hal Lindsay's many times through the years.

I keep one particular scripture in mind as we go through these times...

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angles of heaven, but my Father only" Matthew 24:36

I stand ready should He come today, tomorrow or a million years from now!

Blessings!

Even the specific place a 'meeting' is held is of utmost importance.

I think it's wonderful that you ladies are getting together and doing the Bible study! We had a study going on a couple of years ago on Monday nights at our church on the book of Revelation. I didn't get to attend because of activities going on with us on Mondays, but everyone that went really enjoyed it and learned so much! Of course, the guy that taught it (not all women here), really enjoyed teaching it too!

Enjoy your Bible study and fellowship!
