Spiritual Sunday again. Go here and visit the other blogs who are posting on this Sabbath Day.
I love the way, and ways, God chooses to speak to us.
One of the ways I have seen God speak to me is about the Tapestry of our lives. He has given me an insight of the beautiful tapestry that He, and He alone, is working out. That beautiful tapestry is not only my individual life but the bigger picture of other lives as well.
So many times, over the years, when I have looked at my life from my perspective all I have been able to see is the back side of that tapestry. What I see is a bunch of tangled threads, lots of knots, and seemly totally out of place colors and threads that are anything but beautiful. In fact it can be a real messy looking piece of work.
The reason I'm sharing these thoughts today is the realization of this principal brought home to me afresh and anew.
As many of you know, last October 9th my husband had open heart surgery in Oklahoma City. That morning our wonderful Pastor and his wife showed up at the hospital to pray and support me & our kids and to pray with Mickey before he went in for the surgery. That very mid-morning they had an interview with a young couple about a position in our church. That afternoon, the first people to visit Mickey, besides our family and our pastor, was another couple from our church. We were totally surprised with that visit. Four couples involved that day in this story.
Fast forward 10 months to see what God apparently had in mind that we had no idea of!! This young couple is dealing with a situation in their lives and pm Friday, August 21st we gave a helping hand by moving the young man into our 5th wheel as a place to live. Of course our Pastor and his wife are in this picture. On August 27th this couple who visited have offered him a job. 4 couples who on October 9th, 2008 had no idea what would be taking place bringing our lives together in August, 2009.
Where is this tale going with the 4 couples involved? I have no idea. But HE knows.
HE knew us all while we were yet in our mother's womb. HE knows the very hairs on our head. HE knows the number of our days. All we have to do is trust HIM and watch HIM work on our life tapestry. Sometimes, just sometimes, HE gives us a quick view of HIS wonderful work. We exclaim,
WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!

I love when this kind of thing happens because it gives us a little glimpse into the way God works!
What a beautiful testimony. And, I'm glad that your husband was O.K.
Thank you for this good reminder on the greatness of God. Have a happy spiritual Sunday.
God is always at work around us Sussan, and sometimes we're the thread He works with to weave that tapestry in someone else's life. Blessings and the Beauty of the Lord be upon you today.-Kathy
Such a nice testimony.
Thank you for sharing this today. It is very encouraging. I will be reviewing a book this week by Bruce Wilkinson, You Were Born For This. It is about God's leading us in helping others.
It is good to be reminded that the Lord always has a picture far greater than what we can see. Our sight is so limited, but he can see the beginning and the ending.
The older I get and the more I open my eyes to actually see these amazing tapestries the more I believe how AMAZING our creator is. I'm just in awe all the time.
As I grow stronger in my faith the stronger I feel about helping other people. It took me a long~~long time to realize that it's not all about me.
God Bless my friend,
Ginger
Susan,
Sometimes our lives seem so mundane and boring, meanwhile, God is using us in large ways and small...we just have to open our eyes! Thank you for sharing this story with us.
Blessings,
Jean
What an inspiring testimonial. Yes, God certainly knows what he's doing and we many times can't see it until later - sometimes much later. Thank you for sharing with us.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Isn't it amazing to realize how so connected we are to each other. We are all that thread that makes the picture in the tapestry.

God does work in mysterious ways. We should remain trusting in Him even if nothing is making sense. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours! I love true to life stories like these because I know God is working in our lives the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Blessings to you.
A wonderful commentary on how His plan reigns supreme!
Wonderful story.
I love the way God weaves our lives with others. This is neat!
Hello dear Susan,
Thank so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. It's lovely to hear from you. I have not been able to keep up with visiting blogs as much as I would like. I wonder how some people can manage it. I pray the Lord will bless you and your DH and I pray you are both in good health.

Indeed, what a mighty God we serve. He is always working things out for our greater good.
Thank you for your visit today. I am glad you enjoyed my post. God works in our lives if only we let him come in. God is great!
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Susan...thanks for stopping by my place today. I hope that you enjoyed your visit.
I just popped over to visit with you for a while. I enjoyed reading your posts and looking at your pictures.
By the way...I am originally from Broken Arrow/Tulsa, now living in Florida where I attend First A/G Marianna. Seems we have a lot in common.
I love the idea of God's tapestry....I have heard it said that we can only see the small bits of ragged threads from our perspective, but He sees the whole piece and knows that the colors are woven in perfect order to make a wonderful design.
Be blessed,
Susan
A mighty God is He!
Beautiful message.

Hi Susan,
That was beautiful! I am amazed everyday how God's hands are shaping MY life. The more I turn to Him the more Truths He reveals to me through His Word. I am so grateful for this incredible journey and for all of the beautiful Christian "friends" that I have met along the way through blogland.
You stopped by to say hi a week ago - due to my very hectic schedule I am just now able to stop by to visit. I am so glad that I did! I look forward to reading more of your blog and getting to know you better.
Blessings to you,
Kymber
