Spiritual Sunday #8 - S.W.A.T.

Charlotte & Ginger sponsor Spiritual Sundays and it is always a treat for me to participate with this lovely group. Go here to read other Spiritual Sunday posts.

Several weeks ago I was approached by a wonderful Christian friend of ours, Carmel, about starting an in-home prayer meeting on Friday nights. I told her that we would join her in this and offered to open up our home. I didn't have to do the "spiritual" thing about "I'll prayer about it and let you know" bit because I truly knew instantly that this was of God !!!!

We were preparing to go to Eureka Springs to hear Perry Stone and others at a Revival service and I told her when we returned I'd get with her about the details.

Last Friday, October 10th, we opened out home at 7 p.m. for S.W.A.T.

Spiritual Waponry Attack Team. We had been praying all week that God would bring in those HE wanted to be here and to participate with us. We had just the three of us, Mickey & I and Carmel. We had the most glorious time in the Lord and were just so refreshed. We didn't quit until 11!!!

Last night we had our 2nd meeting. Mickey & I are determined not to let ANYTHING: not an attack by satan on my body 3 days after the first meeting, or the joy of sharing in something good like a family wedding in Branson, MO deter us from this call from God. Last night the Lord doubled us and there were 6 of us praying. Mickey, Susan, Carmel, Thelma, Stan & Wantha. Oh my......what a glorious time it was of praise, pray and WORSHIP!!!!! We broke up around 10:30.

My purpose in posting about this Prayer effort is to encourage others of you, out there in Blogland, to open up your home one night a week to pray and worship our wonderful Savior and Lord. As you know, Mickey & I are very involved in our Church and this certainly does not detract from God's calling in our local Church body but we feel that God is truly calling HIS people to bring prayer and worship into our homes for groups like this as well.

Let me assure you, you will be blessed!!!!! We already have been and I know God is going to do a great work in us as in obedience we follow Him.

Please join hands & hearts with us in your area.

how wonderful Susan!! I had a prayer meeting planned for this last Friday as well, but sickness came and hindered it! We WILL have it this week if Satan doesn't hinder us again. I am so excited to see what God will do. We serve such an amazing God, who delights in our prayers!!!! Love you! I am home from church today because of sickness; so glad to be able to pop in on you and say Hi! I love your enthusiasm for God!!!

I too have a Friday morning bible and prayer time in my home. It is wonderful and how the Lord has blessed us. There are only 6 of us but we are faithful. There is nothing like joining together in earnest prayer for one another. God bless you with this. Debbie

How can it not be a wonderful gathering knowing that where 2 or 3 are gathered, He is in the midst of them...SWAT sounds great! May the Lord cover you all with His protection and may He use your team to have others be led into it. To God be the glory! God bless.

Happy to learn you're feeling better ... that had to be a truly frightening experience!

Happy S/S!

Susan, I love reading the comments of people who are already having prayer and Bible Study in their homes. What a wonderful thing. It's more than wonderful, in these times such gatherings are necessary for the strengthening of the body of Christ.

My husband and I go to a pray gathering every Monday night. There are times when we don't make it, because of life in general, but on the most part we are there every Monday at 6:30 our lives have been blessed. It makes me smile to know that you enjoy this. God is good!
Blessings,
Ginger

Pastor's message today 'Do Something Great For God' was right on with starting a bible study or a prayer meeting.

It's not always about doing the big things that count. It's being faithful to do the small things He has called us to do. That's what stuck out to me today.

Wonderful! I really like the name "SWAT!" Five years ago I started a prayer group of women and we meet in our homes. The devil has attacked us in many ways over the five years, but we keep going! Now our church is starting to organize small groups in the homes! We have been praying for this from the beginning! We are so thankful for this answered prayer, plus many, many more answered prayers!!

Keep on keeping on, your group will grow and grow with the Lord's blessings!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note!

In Ephesians 2:13 Paul wrote, “But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

Praise God for His gift of grace.

Have a glorious week. Blessings.

It is wonderful that you open up your home for a prayer meeting. Hospitality is rare nowadays. Our home belongs to the Lord. We pray that He will use it for His glory. We have hosted Bible study and game night at our home for some international students who attend our local university.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed week in the Lord!

That's neat how it already doubled in a week's time. God's love to honor obedience!

Where two or more are gathered...What a blessing to meet and pray together!

You may think this is an exaggeration however, I promise you it's not. It has taken me yesterday and today to read your blog. I was interupted yesterday and didn't get a chance to get back. I think that would be an awesome prayer time. I'm sure it was very productive too. SWAT on!! :)

Prayer is so important. To gather together as ONE to pray - is SO powerful! I have felt the closest to my fellow parishioners when our prayer circle bowed our heads together in prayer for our congregation. There is nothing quite like seeing evidence the Lord's answers to those prayers too!
God's richest blessings to you as you are faithful to do His work!
