ISRAEL & JERUSALEM

2 Chronicles 6:6: "I have chosen Jerusalem that My Name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel."

Psalm 132:13-15 "For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitationl. 'This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her with bread."

In I Kings 11:32, the Lord calls Jerusalem "the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel."

A fight is raging over Israel & Jerusalem - God's Chosen Nation.

Many are wanting Israel to give up even MORE of their land and now even Jerusalem .

AND YET ...The battle to divide Jerusalem is intensifying.
Sweden is pushing hard to pass an initiative to persuade 27 foreign ministers of European Union states (EU) to endorse a plan to recognize unilaterally East Jerusalem as the capital of a new Palestinian State.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, is doing everything he can to counter the Swedish effort.

The following excepts from Haaretz. Go here to read the entire article Haaretz.com.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has phoned several European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero, asking them to oppose the plan and to pressure the PA to renew negotiations with Israel. Meanwhile, in an attempt to counter Israeli pressure, PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad convened a group of European diplomats to ask them to support the Swedish proposal.

Sweden's initiative calls for the division of Jerusalem and the recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. The 27 European foreign ministers are to discuss a draft of the proposal.

Sweden, with the support of Britain, Ireland, Belgium and a number of other countries, continues to promote its original formulation of the proposal calling for East Jerusalem to be the capital of the Palestinian state.

Israel is continuing in its efforts, together with the United States, to advance a renewal of negotiations with the PA. Netanyahu's envoy Yitzhak Molcho met secretly a few days ago in New York with the U.S. special envoy for the Middle East peace process, George Mitchell. The two discussed developments in the PA ahead of the meeting of the Palestine Liberation Organization Central Council in Ramallah on December 15. On Friday, after the talks with Molcho, Mitchell phoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and discussed the possibility of renewing talks with Israel.

The Bible teaches that the Lord will judge the nations who seek to divide Israel and Jerusalem.

Joel 3:1-2: "When I restore the fortunes of Jerusalem (in the last days) I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.l Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance Israel whom they have scattered among the nations and they have divided up My land."

Please join me in praying for the Peace of Jerusalem.

We have always prayed for the Peace of Jerusalem and I love listening to Paul Wilbur's song on such.
I'll send you a link to a site of a guy who came to Pilgrims Hall recently. He is a reporter, an American who lives in Jerusalem, a Christian who has contact and acceptance with all the factions due to his job. Used to work for CNN and an understanding of how the present happenings are linkied to prophecy.

I find this so interesting, because it's seems so clear that what is happening is what was prophesied, but people don't see it! I also think Obama's tendency toward not defending Israel is very frightening.

I'm praying too Susan.

You wonder why in the world is Sweden messing with all this. Go figure.

Psalms 122:6...Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

This word peace is 'Shalom' in Hebrew and means nothing missing nothing broken, complete. So when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we are praying for the land not to be broken up, we are praying for the temple to be rebuilt, and we are praying for the Messiah to return there. And we prosper when we pray because we love Jerusalem.

When someone believes that the problem will be solved by a Palestinian state, they believe a lie. I suppose that when one begins to believe their own lies, believing the lies of others is far easier.

I don't pray enough for Israel. Thanks for this post reminding me to do so.

I am so blessed and touched by the heart of the Lord toward Jerusalem. They are so small and pressed on every side, yet the Lord loves them, defends them and favors them. We will pray, and we needed this reminder to pray.

Susan .... again, Thank you. I too am guilty of not praying enough for Israel and her people. This was a great wake-up call. The times we live in are very serious times and we need to be on guard that we don't lose sight of the Father's Plan. It is hard to fathom what is going thru some of the world's leader's minds!

Oh a song comes to mind today and I hope it will encourage you Susan.

"He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, slumber nor sleeps." May this promise of His faithfulness comfort your heart today. :)

I often pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I love the Jewish people and am very deeply concerned about going against them in war of any kind!

Susan, as you have followed my blog for several years, you know how precious my family is to me, and I dearly appreciate your wind words and your prayers in this season!

Wow. Unbelievable. Do not think for one minute that God does not know what He is doing in all this. Israel continues to be important in His whole scheme of things. Yes, it is proper to keep praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
