PRAYER SHAWL #4

Here is my 4th Prayer Shawl. This variegated green one, prayed for as I made it, is for our youngest son, Marc.

These are the hands of the 7 of us at the 3rd Day Sister's Tuesday night bible study class as it was being prayer over there.

The gals at the Monday morning bible study I attend have also joined in this Prayer Shawl Ministry so this one for Marc was also prayed over by the 7 woman who attend it. Double blessed!!!

It took me only 29 days to complete this 4th Shawl. I've certainly gotten faster at them :o)

I am already working on #5 which will be a purple one for my 15th year old granddaughter. I had failed to put one of the earlier ones I was working on up when she came over and seeing it she said, "Grandma, if you're making one of those for ALL of us I want a purple one!" So!!!!!! Who's NOT going to fulfill that request?

I'm curious if any others of you out there are making these? If so, please be sure and let me know.

Good Morning Susan Sweetie...
Oh my how very beautiful this shawl is. I can only imagine the joy that it will bring your Son and I can't wait to see the one you make for your grand daughter. What a beautiful treasure to have for many years to come. They are so lucky to have you. Knitting and crocheting are a craft I have never learned. I tried, but was told I have two left hands. So sadly I stopped.

I love the photo of all of the hands blessing this shawl before it is passed on to your Son. So beautiful sweet friend, just beautiful.

Many country hugs and much love, Sherry

It is really beautiful, and the many prayers said while making it and by the other women make it even more special.

The shawl you made is such a beautiful shade of green. I know he'll treasure it.
Our church has a prayer shawl ministry and I've gone to the meetings before, but its just not the season of life for me to get involved. Plus I need to learn to crochet (minor detail...)
I do plan to in the future though.
Glad you all are doing this.

I am glad you posted this as I really need to get busy and make one for a friend. I have a pattern I really love, I just need to see what yarns I have and get after it. Love your latest one dear friend.

I have just now started knitting prayer shawls for a ministry at our church. I am doing one now with rows of K3, P3, and then when I turn I K3, P3. They gave me some yarn for a shawl for a man and I think I will knit every row--not sure. The ministry sent a shawl to a friend that I met on line back in 1998. She has cancer of the uterus and is very sick. Kathi cried when she received her shawl and took it with her for her first chemo.
Love,
Marie

Oh, Susan, how beautiful. The shawl is beautiful, but what lovely gifts that your children an grandchildren will love in the years to come. These are the kinds of things that will live after we're gone. I can just imagine how that shawl feels but more than that, the thoughts of you that will be conjured up long after you're gone.

Nadine - My thoughts exactly....and the power of prayer each and every time they place them around their shoulders. Prayer changes things and prayer changes US!!!!

What a precious gift for your children and grandchildren.

I popped over to tell you that a year after you suggested it...I will FINALLY be making it to visit the Library of Congress this week. Thanks for the tip - I can't wait!!!!!

Susan, maybe you could post pictures of the loom and tools you use to show these ladies how easy this is to do.

Also YouTube has step by step directions that I heard are very easy to go by to learn to loom knit.
