THE KNEE REPORT
As you know I had my left knee operated on last Thursday, May 8th. I had to be at the facility at 9:15 a.m. and the operation was scheduled at 11:15 a.m. It is a brand new (less than 4 years old) facility and it is really nice, plush and very fancy. They put you into your backless gown (ugh!) but then give you a matching blue robe and blue sock's for your feet and then they bring you two warm blankets to cover up in. The nurses were wonderful. The Dr. came in and talked to me and Mickey. Then he took a pen and wrote "Here" on the left knee and handed Mickey the pen as a souvenir!!!
Promptly at 11:15 I was walking down the hall to the operating room. They have 8 operating rooms!!!! I remember getting very sleepy and thinking "any minute I'm going to be out." I was. Then I woke up in the recovery room, they said 45 minutes later. Again, wonderful nurses that were asking me if I could raise my left leg, which I did 10 times and telling me to take deeper breaths. Then to another room where Mickey was brought in and another nurse was talking to me and giving me a pain pill to make the 25 mile drive home and we were out of there by 12:45.

Not a very pretty picture, but this is what it looked like Sunday noon, when I finally got to take the bandage off. Don't you love the iodine painted leg? It felt so good to get that huge bandage off!!!!

I am doing great. I had very little pain and only ended up taking 4 of the pain pills, usually during the night, that they had given me. Each day the swelling goes down a little bit more. I know I am going to be as good as new soon!!!!
Thank you for all your prayers and concern.
