FOR TODAY - The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today... Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Outside my window...it is pitch black and night time.

I am thinking... I am really tired and need to go to bed.
I am thankful for... another successful delivery of our Tuesday's King Kitchen meal to 41 shut-ins.

I am remembering... why I love the fall season of the year so much.

I am currently reading... two books: When GOD winks at You by Squire Rushnell and A Place Called Heaven by Dr. Gary L. Wood.

I am hoping... My garage sale this Friday & Saturday will be a success.

On my mind... my part in Cry Out America at my local Court House on Friday, September 11th.

Noticing that... the weather report is on the TV my husband is watching.

From the kitchen... the dishes all washed and put away and everything in order ready for tomorrow morning.

Around the house... things are winding down for the night.

One of my favorite things... the Bible reading and prayer time my husband & I spend doing together each morning.

From my camera...

this picture of the many pints 1/2 pints and quarter pint jars of honey we bottled from my husbands honey bee hives a couple of weeks ago. Soooo good!!!

Simple Woman's Daybook #2

Outside my window . . . my back yard and the 3 raised garden spots my husband has begun planting in.

I am thankful . . .for the wonderful life I am being blessed to live and enjoy.

And I also am thankful . . . for my nice long phone call yesterday afternoon with my daughter, Jacque.

I am praying . . .for a great move of God across not only our nation, but the world.

I am thinking . . . I've got to get Mickey up so we can get to The King's Kitchen to prepare today's meal for 36 shut-ins.

I am creating . . . a prayer shawl for my daughter, Jacque

I am celebrating . . . my son, Marc's, marriage to Deann on February 12th with a family dinner, reception on Sunday at our daughter, Suzettes.

From the kitchen . . . not one thing yet!! Haven't even put the coffee on.

I am wearing . . .pj's of course because it is early.

I am reading . . .The Narrated Bible in Chronological Order and currently in Hoseas' Preaching.

I am hoping . . .the we have a nice, long Spring and don't go right into hot Summer.

I am hearing . . .nothing but the buzz of the computer running.

I am going . . .to the church by 9 to heat and package the meal we prepared last night for The King's Kitchen.

Around the house and yard . . . the beauty of spring in the yard. The house needing to be straightened & cleaned.

One of my favourite things . . .my blogs.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . picking up grandson, Aric and bringing him home to stay with us Wednesday, Thursday & Friday and his pinewood derby Friday evening.

A quote for today . . .The Lord is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life -- of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Here is a picture thought I am sharing . . . Me in my scene in our 4 performance Drama from Good Friday to Easter called CHOICES.

Several of the blogs I read participate in this Daybook and I have always enjoyed reading them. I decided to give it a try today.

Outside my window...it is still pitch black because it is 5:52 a.m. and the sun has not yet come up.

I am thinking...how very honored I am that I was invited to be a special speaker on the subject of "Love" at the monthly meeting of a group of couples at our church called "Young at Heart".

I am thankful for...having a brand new daughter-in-love, Deann, and three new grandsons, Mason, Aaron & Cody join our family February 12th!

I am wearing...PJ's - Black bottoms with colored snow shaped designs and a solid purple top with the neck trimmed in satin with very small buttons.

I am remembering...how much we enjoyed our travels in all the Canadian provinces as we've been watching the Olympics.

I am going... to our church at 9 a.m. to prepared a hot meal, Swiss Chicken, that will be delivered to the homes of 28 shut-ins and elderly today at noon.

I am currently reading..."The Pursuit of God" by A.W. Tozer

I am hoping...We don't have any more ice storms this winter.

On my mind...looking forward to my 3rd Day Sisters Bible Study tonight. We had to cancel last week due to the weather and it always leaves a big hole in my week the few times we have been unable to meet.

Noticing that...my desk is once again a mess and needs to be sorted through and cleaned off.

Pondering these words... Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world - wanting your own way, wanting, everything for yourself, wanting to appear important - has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out - but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. I John 2:1-17

From the kitchen... nothing..not even the coffee going yet.

Around the house... the guest bedroom needs to be cleaned and straightened up since we had the grands with us for 4 days (Thursday -Sunday).

One of my favorite things~a hot, relaxing bubble bath.

From my picture journal... Our last snow and one of my husband's beloved birds at the feeder.
