These Three

Not much to blog about today. I am frustrated. My husband and I decided we needed to scan all our pictures into the computer and put them on disc's for our children (now mind you we are 69 and 74 years old, been married almost 48 years, have 4 children, and 6 grandchildren, and, and, and) and let me tell you that is a LOT of pictures. I have been sitting here hour after hour, day after day and have only just begun to make a very small dent in it. This morning I got up and the scanner will no longer work!! WHAT?!!

We had some errands and business to take care of this morning but when we got home Mickey called Lexmark for help. He just got off the phone after a very loooooog conversation with a gal from India (of course!) with the end result that they are sending us a new software CD to install and it should be here in 4-5 days. So I have come to a screeching halt with pictures literally scattered all over this office: floor, computer desk, Mickey's desk, bookcase, top of old photograph console, everywhere.

Let's look at the good side of it......I'll get up in the morning and do some much needed housecleaning, washing, etc. Things that have been waiting while I scanned!! The other point....it's waited all these years.....what's a few more days!!

I found this little interesting item I thought I would post today for something of interest beside my bellyaching!!

ALL THREE
Three things in life that, once gone, never come back -
Time - Words - Opportunity
Three things in life that can destroy a person -
Anger - Pride - Unforgiveness
Three things in life that you should never lose -
Hope - Peace - Honesty
Three things in life that are most valuable -
Love - Family & Friends - Kindness
Three things in life that are never certain -
Fortune - Success - Dreams
Three things that make a person successful -
Commitment - Sincerity - Hard Work
Three things that are truly constant -
Father - Son - Holy Ghost
Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Too bad about the scanner. At least it's getting fixed fairly soon. Your family will be so blessed to have all those pictures. The "three thingy" was pretty cool.

Isn't it always the "little" things that make us crazy?

Are you coming to do my pictures next?? :)

Three things that would destroy your room of pictures: My dear son age 4, my dear daughter age 2 and the dog (you thought I was going to say the baby, didn't you? Now, how could a 3 month old destroy pictures?) he he

I hope I made you smile!!

As my mother-in-law says, "A hundred years from now you will never know the difference." Life is short and enjoy today while you can, right?

Liked your little "3 things" :)

Happy news.....about 6 p.m. the scanner suddenly began working again. Thank you Jesus. I was able to finish (I was in the midst) scanning photos to Hawaii from 1978 when we went for our 20th anniversary. It really bothers me to stop mid-way of anything.

Amy - Yes I thought it was cool.

Weavermon - Yes, the little things get me. The big crisis I do pretty go at. Go figure. NO!! I will not be coming to do your pictures. But take my advise and don't wait years before you do.

Susan - I kiddingly told my daughter the other day "Boy, I don't know what we got into. I think I'll just quit and let you kids worry about it after we're gone". Of course I didn't mean it.

Momma Road - Oh yes, you gave me a very BIG smile. And yes, I thought you meant the baby!! A dog, or my I rather deal with the 4 & 2 year old and the 3 month old!

Ginger - Yes, life is very short and when you get my age you really realize that. I don't remember getting older!!!

By the way, someone commented that the post I did about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier had error in it. I'm soooo sorry. I would never deliberately post something that I didn't feel was accurate. I'll have to check closer next time.

I think it's incredible you are doing that! That will be such an amazing kid for your kids (I think so at least! I know I would really appreciate and cherish that!) Sorry for the frustration though.

Isn't it amazing how frustrating technology can be!? Sometimes I think I'm just going to give up on ALL technology until they do what they REALLY MEANT to do when they created it. I feel like sometimes all I get are the mess up creations! haha I don't know if I'm making sense, sorry! :)

have a great night! :)

That is a wonderful Three Things saying.

I'm glad your scanner is up and working again. Good luck with your big project of scanning photos.

Technology can be so frustrating sometimes can't it? :-) How far we have come in today's age!! Having them scanned is the best idea because they can be treasured forever! Not that the regular pictures can't but you know what I mean!

Yes the scanning is a chore. I have been doing it too, then photoshopping them all. Now I'm almost ready to put them on DVD's with music. My grandson is going to help with that part because I don't have a clue how to. I plan to use the songs I sang them and taught them for their early years, then the songs they loved as teen for those years, etc. Oh what a job it has been but I think it will be worth it.

You must have fried the poor ol' scanner's brain! I admire you for being so tech savvy! I toowant to get our photos scanned and on CDs. I did do a DVD with music, etc. for my son's graduation party in back in 2005. It was a wonderful experience and get to enjoy it even now.

Randi - Yes very flustrating and then so marvelous. Kind of like us children of God, huh?

Lori - Thanks!

Sandy - How far is right. We have to wonder "what's next".

Bev - Anyone that made a quilt like you showed us can't think all this scanning is that time consuming!!

Pam - You made by day start out with a smile calling "me" tech savy. hehe

oh wow -- good comparison there! :)

We are a lot like our frustrating technology!

I'm glad that God has infinite patience with me -- unlike the lack of patience I sometimes show at my computer!

I just finished reading all the comments and I'm so glad to hear you completed your task, which happens to be a lovely task. I wish my mom would do this for me, or better yet, I should offer to do this for her. I loved Momma Roar's comment-too funny!

Randi - Patience and more patience is what God favors me with.

Lori B - Thanks, it is a very BIG project.

Sandy - Yes I know what you mean. There is a place for both.

Mountain Mama - Oh I'm sure it will be worth it and very much appreciated.

Michelle - Scanner still working fine. Praise God!

Susie - Oh you misunderstood! I'm just back to it. It will be weeks or months before I'm finished!

Sounds like your scanner just needed a rest after all the scanning being done! lol I'd love to get all my pictures scanned as well but I look at the huge box in my closet filled with thousands of pictures...and just close the closet door again! lol xox
