JULY 24, 2007 - A VERY SPECIAL DAY

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 was a very special day in our family. This is the day that our daughter, Jacque closed on her house in Tulsa. Jacque is our daughter that lost everything she owned in Katrina Hurricane in Ocean Springs, Mississippi on August 28, 2005.

Read all about it here.
Here are proud mother & daughter in front of Jacque's
new home.

The back of Jacque's new home.

Proud dad, Mickey, Mr. Moore (Jacque's little dog) and Jacque peeking from the entry hall into the formal living room.

A picture of the large panelled den with fireplace and built-in bookcase.

Mickey & Jacque gazing into the kitchen dining area from the den. Note the lovely built-in china cabinet.

Here Jacque & I are in the kitchen where we'll probably be preparing this years holiday meals and occasions.

The house is full brick with a 2 car garage and extra wide driveway extending to the side for extra parking. The house itself consists of 4 bedroom, 2 full baths, formal entry, formal living, den, kitchen with dining area, large laundry room with built-in desk/work top. The bedrooms all have built-in bookshelves. The carpet is almost new and a very nice brown color. The flooring in the entry, kitchen, baths, and laundry room is ceramic tile. Included in the price was a refrigerator and washer & dryer.

The house needs some updating and cleaning but believe me Jacque will have it fixed up like a doll house in short order.

We are so proud of Jacque and the progress she has made since moving here with us on September 15, 2005. Talk about starting over from scratch and doing great!!!

Now the next step for Jacque, and the rest of our family, is to convince her only daughter and our oldest granddaughter, 21 year old Jessica, to move to Oklahoma from Mississippi to join us.

Thanks for letting me share a very special day and event in our lives with all of you!

P.S. Mickey will be very glad to get his storage barn and part of his garage back!!! Jacque and I have been busy loading them up with items of furniture and things to give her a head start when this glorious day arrived.

I am so happy. This is a story of survival in the finest order. I am so impressed with the fortitude of those who survived something traumatic and yet continue on.

Way to go Jacque! I can't wait to see the Thanksgiving dinner prepared here!!!

Way to go Susan and Mickey...to be the help and storage that she needed to get her into her beautiful new home!!

This is a praise report! God was faithful and has brought her to a place of blessing. How wonderful that she was able to come home to you for this time and now can go home to her own place.

We watched our own family members survive that horrible hurricane. Praise God they are doing great and just had their first baby in Kansas City.

Soon we will be seeing our kids new home for the first time, too! Hurray! One more week!

Isn't it amazing how God takes a situation from tragic to terrific right before our eyes?! Congrats to Jacque and to you also. It must be wonderful to have your daughter near you again! The midwest is a great place to live!

How wonderful! That house has a lot going for it! She will have fun making it her home--and I'm sure you will be there helping right along!

I cannot imagine what all those people have gone through finding their way back to some kind of normalcy. It is refreshing and encouraging to hear a positive survival story!

Weavermom - Yes we are very proud of her and what she has been able to accomplish in less than 2 years.

Lori - We have loved having Jacque here with us and now knowing she will remain close by.

Leigh Ann - Yes, it is a very exciting time in all our lives. As parents you always take joy in seeing your children do well.

Kim - Yes, the wood work in the house is truly beautiful wood.

Jennifer - We were thankful that we had a place for her to come to, the 5th wheel that had taken us all over and we had lived in for 4 years made a perfect little home for her during this time.

Ginger - A praise report in deed!! Glad to hear your relatives are doing well too. I can only imagine how excited you are to finally get to see and stay in your Texas kids new home. What fun!!

Tracy - I love that you said the home has "character". I hadn't thought of that but it truly does!

Jennifer - What the devil meant for harm God meant for good. He certainly turned this situation around. What a mighty God we serve.

Diane - True and many hands make work light. She'll have a lot of help from all this family, not just Mickey & I. Her sister, Suzette, who is in the real estate loan closing business, went to the closing with her. That was great comfort for Jacque.

To ALL - I so appreciate your sharing in the joy with us. That's one of the wonderful things about our blogworld, we share each others happiness, pain, sorrow, joy. We truly weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. Thanks!

Oh, I am so happy for your daughter. Katrina was terrible, but at least it brought family members closer in proximity. My brother-in-law lost everything, too, but it got him living in our city, which we are very happy about!! I am so happy she is near to you and once again has a beautiful house.

Hey Susan! I'm so happy for your daughter. I know you are glad to have her near you although its very tragic how she arrived! Praise God though, she has a gorgeous gorgeous home!

I had to fix my blog about Sky that you commented on and I lost the comment! Sorry but the pics weren't showing so I had to reload and lost the original. I pray it works this time!

Hugs and lots of love my dear faithful friend!
