SHOW & TELL #16 - TED T. BEAR

My goodness.....here it is Friday again and time for Show & Tell at Kelli's, There Is No Place Like Home. Isn't this fun? I love seeing what everyone shows each week. What a great, wonderful idea you host, Kelli. Thank YOU!! If you're new go over to Kelli's site and find out all about it and the guidelines. Pick a Show & Tell and post it and then go back to Kelli's again and sign up on Mr. Linky. It's that easy!!

I want to introduce you to MR. TED T. BEAR (That's what we named him) and tell you all about him. Isn't he adorable? You press his belly button and he says The Lord's Prayer. You turn his tail and he is a music box. Now how special is that!!!!

BUT that isn't all I want to tell you about. What I want to Show & Tell you today is about FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, COMPASSION, CARING!!
Monday morning we had a call from our good friends, Jack & Mary, wanting to know if we could meet them some where for lunch. We said "Of course" and we decided to meet at noon at I*H*O*P*.

When we got there Jack & Mary were already seated at a table and the hostess said, when we walked in the door, "They're waiting for you", and lead us to the table. Immediately Mary pulls our this bear and says, "This is for Aric. We decided he needed a new friend". Now if you follow my blog then you know what this was all about and what a loving, compassionate, caring gesture of friendship this was to us and our 8 year old grandson. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go here to read the background.

Wednesday we picked Aric up from school and brought him to our house as his father had to go to Oklahoma City on business for the day. Here is Aric with his new friend and companion, Mr. Ted T. Bear. Does that grin tell it all?

Now, as if that wasn't enough of a blessing and thrill I have to tell you more.

On Tuesday, when Mickey brought the mail in, I had this card from Leigh Ann!!! With the sweetest note and a bookmarker. I'll tell you about it below. BUT it brought tears to my eyes when I saw this little teddy bear, who looks so much like Mr. Ted T. Bear. I immediately dropped Leigh Ann an e-mail & told her she would find out Friday at Show & Tell why it was so special she had sent me this note on a Teddy Bear card. She said they were notes she "just happened" to have. NO!!!! I don't believe in "just happened"........God had this all ochestrated to show me FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, COMPASSION and CARING from not only 1 set of friends but 2. What an awesome God I serve.

Now meet the precious little angel bookmark Leigh Ann sent me. Leigh Ann knows I collect and love angels. Here is what her card said: "Susan, As I was shopping the other day, I came across this bookmark and thought of you! Thank you for your friendship and for being an angel! Love, Leigh Ann."

On the other side she wrote: "Friends are angels who lift our feet when our own wings have trouble remembering how to fly." --unknown.

That is exactly what these 2 friends did for me this week - lifted my feet during a testing time for our family.

So, Mr. Aric has Mr. Ted T. Bear, and I have an adorable angel bookmark and a teddy bear card. But best of all I have wonderful FRIENDS and a LOVING GOD and I get to share it all with you today on SHOW & TELL

I love Ted T. Bear!!! The fact that he recites the Lord's Prayer is totally awesome. And the bookmark? Wow, what a great photo.

Mine this week, isn't much but something I captured in the sky one morning, early this week. And wanted to share with the Show n Tell.

Oh, Susan. I do not know how I missed the part about Oksana staying with her mom, but I missed it. I am so sorry that you will not see her as often as before. But I trust, as I know you do, that God has a plan. How do folks do this without our Jesus?

About my quilt. I do not remember every using it of course, although I think I have seen it before, perhaps when my cousins were using it. It was in the care of my aunt, who I saw this summer after several years.

It is a long story, but my aunt, who is 69, has lost 2 daughters. They died 6 years apart, and both were 40 years old. She also has a healthy son.

All three of her children apparently used the quilt as well as my younger brother before them. So it has been well loved.

My aunt is a quilter. An amazing quilter. I wish we lived closer. She is in Rockford, IL. I am so glad that she appreciated the quilt for what it was.

I am not sure what to do with it. I don't want to just pack it away, but it is too delicate after so much use, to use it anymore. Any ideas?

The Butler says I should hang it on the wall in my sewing room but I am afraid it is even too delicate for that.

Ok, this is just so cool! And, you know, its fun being a part of this without even knowing what I was doing - other than following my heart. You see, I've had that bookmark on my desk since June and last weekend I just felt I needed to send it - so, I obvioulsy grabbed the notecards closest to me!!

I think Ted T Bear is a perfect fit for Aric!

I love you!

Wonderful and special friends we have! I'm so glad your friends blessed Aric and Leigh Ann...well, words just don't quite say enough.

When God prompts, it's so important to listen and I'm so glad Leigh Ann did. Sometimes it's those small things that blesses the socks right off someone.

Cute bear, lovely story! Reminds me of something I heard about here. Our Police have teddies on hand to give to children who involved in some kind of trauma - domestic/traffic accident, etc. Nice touch.
