This small book, tucked in at the end, we purchased when we visited Washington, DC in 2001,
Another small book, that I failed to take a picture of, is Presidents of the United States, published in 1975. The book has a picture and brief history of all the Presidents from George Washington through Gerald Ford in 1974.
The 6 larger books, to the right on the second shelf, came with an Encyclopedia set we purchased when our girls were young. The encyclopedias are long since gone but we kept these books. Our son, Marc, has a couple more of this set at his home.
Thank you for letting me show you just a few of my many, many books and share my joy of the written word with you.

I love books too!!! And these, being that they are your fathers, are priceless!!!
My show n tell is a Valentine wreath I made this week. I do hope you can drop by for a visit.
Books are indeed treasures! When I was a lonely, young girl, books were the means in which I would escape! Even today, I am an avid reader! I am currently on my 3rd biography on Theodore Roosevelt.

Susan, You have the BEST show and tell posts! What wonderful treasures these books are! I am another one who loves books, but particularly old ones as I love old things (including myself, who I kind of like). Some of these I never heard of and boy do I like the sound of them.
Things we receive from our parents are particularly precious to us, and to think you can pass these on to YOUR children and grandchildren. This was a wonderful show and tell. Thanks for sharing your treasures with the rest of us.
Books are a weekness of mine. I've always loved to be surrounded by them. It's nice that you have books from your father. Enjoy..
I love old books...but I use mine in art pieces. I don't know why, but I love the smell of old books... funny huh~
What treasures! I love your books. Thanks for sharing this w/ all of us! Blessings on your day!
Your father's book collection is indeed a treasure!
Thanks for sharing something so dear to your heart.

What a lovely Show and Tell. Yes I love books too. Thanks for visiting me. I know your fathers books are a treasure. Thank you for showing them. It gives me an idea for a post. I have some of my daddy's books. They are much different from yours though.
Thanks for sharing and visiting too. Have a Blessed Day.

I almost showed my "classic" books one time for S&T -- I might still. How special that these came from your dad!
Hi Susan,
Thanks for dropping in time and again at my blog - and yes, the spiritual battle in indeed real. Thanks for praying and please continue to pray that it will not only be talk and no action.
Ooooh, you know I lurve books :) And I was just working on my John 1:1-18 assignment before dropping in here, and it was nice reading the Goodspeed translation you have posted.
Books make me drool like food makes other people drool. LOL. Thanks for sharing...they are very special being your fathers!
Old books are a favourite treasure of mine as well and the fact that these were once your father's makes them extra special :-)
I love your old books! I collect them, too, but unfortunately they're all packed away right now. We'll get them out soon, though!
I have a few of the Mental Efficiency series, too. It's fun to see all of them!
Have you thought putting the pre-1922 books on Project Gutenberg? I've been trying to get some of mine in and it's slow going, but I think it will be worth it!
Your classic books are wonderful. I noticed that the covers look wonderful on display as well as special to read. A lot of the books on my shelves are ones we read but not necessarily attractive on the shelves. Yours are both.

I love your books, Susan. That is a wonderful treasure of reference
resources. Vintage texts are so precious, and a family heirloom as well. God bless all who teach their children the value of the written word. I still make my grandchildren open new books like I learned to from the librarian in my child hood, and of course I do it myself. Thank you for sharing.
Nancy
I love books, and have them everywhere, much to my husbands dismay ;) Thank you so much for sharing.
Sandra
Oh my hubby loves books but myself not really. He has a library inside our bedroom in case he likes to read he will get it and read.
Love your books. It is great that they belonged to your father. I have so many books I think I need to turn one room into a library.
Wow! What a great collection, Susan! How I would have loved to have those while I was growing up.
That is quite the collection! I could be busy for days reading through them.
Susan I bought a Salvation Army Hymnal today for .59 ...if you lived near me I would give it to you. The only date I can find is a 1945 dedication insert. It's binding is rough but the pages look good. I love old books too! Jennifer
Hi Susan! I love old books too. It's so nice to see yours so lovingly displayed and in such great condition. Thanks for sharing them with us today.

I love books. I read all the time. There is always a book (or 20) on my nightstand. When I go to bed, I relax by reading. I've done this since childhood. If I don't read, I have trouble falling asleep.
The Testament and the Constitution are lovely. Thanks so much for sharing this collection.
Blessings,
Mary

Susan! You and I both love books :). I have a nice collection I have collected over my life. Mainly second hand, garage sailing, and so on. I have a lot of children's books in the mix. This is a love my own mother gave me, starting with Raggedy Ann books by Johnny Gruelle.
I enjoyed the traslation you shared. Beautifully said.
Your bookshelf looks so neat and organized, and I really enjoyed seeing them and reading about how old these books are.
