SISTER'S - Suzette & Jacque

I always said it was like having twins the hard way!  Sisters separated by only 1 year and 9 days in birth.
The very last picture ever taken of Suzette was this one on March 6, 2011 at the Rib Crib when the family celebrated Benny's birthday. I honored her request not to take pictures in the hospital or after she got home and was so ill.  Suzette and I were the ones who organized all our "get together" times and various holiday celebrations.  It was Suzette who wanted us to get together to celebrate Benny's birthday (she was getting so ill we were going to skip it this year.)

Suzette meeting her baby sister for the first time, December, 1955.

Jacque and Suzette at their maternal Grandma and Grandpa Errett's house in Santa Fe, NM.

Another picture taken at Grandma and Grandpa Errett's.  The girls loved and adored them.

Mickey, Pauline and Henry Errett, Suzette and Jacque.  Mickey and I had just returned from our honeymoon in October, 1958.  The girls were 3 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old.

Suzette and Jacque in the front yard of our home in Albuquerque.

From the candles you can see it's Jacque's 2nd and Suzette's 3rd Birthday.

Grandma Errett was a wonderful seamstress and made adorable outfits for Suzette and Jacque.

 Our adorable girls!

 Clowing around.

Taken at our home in Denver, Jacque was 7 and Suzette 8.

Probably Easter Sunday in Denver 1963.

 Always doing everything together.

Adding new baby brother - 11 1/2 - 2 - 10 1/2.  Easter Sunday after we moved to our new house in Tulsa.

 Dance recital time.

Taken October 4, 1988 when Mickey and I renewed our vows at 30 years.  Suzette age 33, and Jacque 32.

These two sisters were so very close.  Jacque says, "I not only lost my sister but my very best friend."  She did.

Our family has lost a jewell, but Heaven has gained an Angel!!!

What wonderful pictures! I can't imagine the sorrow of losing a child, or a sister. She was blessed to have such a loving family and you were blessed to have her. As you said, heaven has gained an angel.

Love this walk down lovely memory lane. As my middle two sons are 9 months ten days apart I understand the twins the hard way comment, as well as the best friends comment.

Oh what precious snapshots through time.

Thank you so much for sharing as you allow us to love your beautiful daughter as much as you do. The computer opens up the world so we all can unite in joy, in pain, in grief, in hope and in love. I am so glad to have been able to share with you, as I know as a momma, that we want the world to love our children, to cherish them and to see them as we do. No matter how old our children get, they are always our babies. I love that I have been able to see your precious baby through these amazing photos.

Hugs through tears...

Jennifer

I think it is good to only have 'healthy' photo's of someone you love.

I just adore those standing out skirts!

Oh my gosh Susan, I have been so busy lately that I haven't even checked blogs for awhile and was totally shocked to have read about Suzettes passing away. I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Loved looking at the pictures of her and her sister!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am visiting from Barbara's Ramblings from an English Garden because I usually do visit and congratulate winners. Today, I thought perhaps I should pass given your family's recent loss; however, I am glad that I did not.

These are such beautiful pictures of your girls. May you know great comfort at this time for grief comes in waves and one can never guess when. Keep on writing, keep on enjoying Memory Lane, though she truly belongs to Heaven now, she is always with you.

And, of course, congratulations on your win at Barbara's.

These pictures are amazing! What a treasury!!! I was thinking as I was viewing these, how the death of an individual affects a family on so many different levels: losing a sister, a daughter, a wife, a friend.....just the many ways Suzette impacted your lives. How blessed you are, Susan, to have had beautiful Suzette. We will be praying for Jacque. This must be so difficult for her. I am comforted somewhat to know the beautiful relationship they shared.

What great photos of your girls.
I see that you did them like I did my 2 boys who were 18 months in age. I would dress them a like all the time.
Thanks for sharing your sweet girls with us. My heart aches for you and your family.
May God help strengthen you all daily.
Hugs

Your post is just precious Susan. I love seeing your pictures and smiled at those of the girls dressed alike. My first two were less than a year apart in age and I dressed them alike too. Their grandma called them her 'GOLD DUST TWINS'
I am still holding you all up in prayer dear Susan. God comfort each of you.
Love & hugs.

Thanks, Susan, for sharing these wonderful photos. My thoughts and prayers are still with you and Jacque and all your family.

The photo with the girls in the matching outfits jogged my memory of a similar outfit my grandmother made for me. She bought turquoise fabric and lovely copper and gold rickrack and trim from a trip to southern TX and into Mexico over 50 yrs ago. She called it a Fiesta outfit with the top very much like the one in your photo and the full skirt both decorated with rows of the rickrack and trim. I loved it.

I can't imagine as a parent, much less as a mom, losing a child. No other person in the world felt this person, as a new life, forming and kicking within their own body, or felt the joy of seeing the hands and arms and face of the one so close for so long.

I also can't imagine losing a child that I won't ever be seeing again. Gloriously for you, this was not your plight. We have the hope of once again worshiping our creator in the presence of what Paul refereed to as our now sleeping loved ones. What a wonderful consolation.

Dear Susan,
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I haven't been blogging much and just now found out. I have just read all the lovely memorial posts, plus the one on the funeral home site. What wonderful tributes you have done! I admire you for being able to share your heart with us this way. I enjoyed seeing all the pictures, she was such a pretty lady too. May 19th is my birthday, she went to be with the Lord on that day and is free from all pain.

A year ago my sister had lung cancer and then chemo. She had the CT and PT scans last week and they are "watching" a "questionable" spot and will check her again in six weeks.

I pray the Lord will ease your pain each day.

Love and prayers,
Katherine

What a lovely post - I feel for Jacque. I would be the same if I lost my sister, who is exactly 11 months and two weeks younger than me. Your girls sure did have lots of cute outfits alike.

I'm glad you have these great pictures and wonderful memories.
