My Little Angel

Do you believe in angels? I do! Why do you believe in angels you ask? Because the Bible speaks repeatedly of angels. As nearly as I can count, there are 289 references to angels in God's Holy word.
My very favorite verse about angels is "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2. Isn't that an awesome thought....we might have, or possibly will have, the honor of entertaining angels!!!
Another verse I like is "Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?" Hebrews 1:5&6

I received this little angel on a Christmas package when I was 8 years old. That makes her 61 years old!!!!! She has hung on my Christmas treeevery year until December, 2005 when I decided not to pack her away but leave her out to join other angels I have around my home. I have 25 angels around my home, plus a sign on my front porch that reads: House Protected By ANGELS and angel border wallpaper in my master bathroom. My angels range in height from 1 1/2" to 2'2". Many of them are very special to me, and I will be sharing more of my angels in other posts in the future, but this little angel is my favorite.
The reason this little angel is my favorite is because she reminds me of me. If you notice closely, her halo is crooked. So is mine!!! She is missing one wind. She's been through a lot. So have I!!! She's a little soiled. So am I!!! The beauty of her face is almost gone. So is mine!!! Her hands are still folded in prayer. So are mine!!! BUT she is still here, and so am I!!!
We had a pastor who use to make fun of "sissy female angels" saying that real angels are huge, masculine, massive and strong. I am sure they are, but I still love my pretty angels and they are a blessing to me. Thank you for letting me introduce you to this little angel. I hope you will enjoy meeting my other ones, too.

I loved your post. Those are great bible verses.

I also love angels. I have quite a few for my Christmas tree.
My mom is totally into angels. She has angels all over her home. She has a big hutch that is just totally filled with them and also when her Christmas tree goes up it is packed with angles.

Through all the years I never remember seeing this little angel. As you know I believe in angels too.. We had a visit from 2 that I know of. Once in perilous times and another when we were house hunting in Houston and an angel in a Caddilac came whisping into the yard when we were pering in the windows(vacant house) and told us how beautiful it was and if we bought it and didn't want to live in it to call her and she would rent it from us.... We did buy it with God's help and direction thru many negoiations and used it to serve the lord with many church parties and fellowships.OH yes I forgot to tell you it had been vandalized inside and we used it that way to Gods Glory with everyone watching the progressive repairs...YES YES AND TO THINK WE MAY BE ENTERTAINING THEM AT ANY TIME... GLORY !!!!!!!! Don

Just Mom - Yes I know you love angels from your post. I've been wanting to post about mine since getting on the blog but had to wait until I could do the pictures. I still struggle with them!! Little by little.
Don - I knew that was you before I saw your name on the bottom. Yes that was one beautiful house and two pretty nice "angels" living in it to!!!!

Oh I forgot to mention, my sister has a "angel tree" for her Christmas tree. So instead of any other Christmas decortaions she just put angels on her tree! I wish I had a picture of it to show you. You would love it. She inspired me to do something different with my Christmas tree too, so one year I did an all "roses" tree and last year I did an all "teddy bears" tree using small little bears that Ive been collecting anyway. Do you do a angel Christmas tree?

Thanks so much for the comment on my page! I have enjoyed your blog so much so far! I am so glad you wrote that verse about angels - I totally 'missed' that somewhere in my reading of Hebrews!

My old art teacher growing up www.suemillerart.com is called 'the angel lady' a lot of times - she collects angels and has thousands and thousands of them all over the house! She is an incredible artist and paints angels and fairies a lot.

I'd LOOOVE to hear more about your travels around this incredible country! I always say that I want to see every state (including Hawaii) before I die --- doing it in an RV would be great to be able to take your time and just get up and 'go' whenever you need to!

Do any of your blog posts talk more about those experiences!? I'll keep reading and see if I find anything!

Thanks again! God bless! :)

My mom probably has 200-300 angels (that includes the Christmas tree angels).
She has lots of Dreamsicles, and some crystal angels, snow globe angels, Ceramic like angels, and homemade angels.

Susan, what a tender and sweet comparison of yourself to the tattered angel. Just goes to show that God really isn't finished with us yet :) Your beautiful spirit shines through even though the halo might be slightly off center. I have been visited by an angel in my life and hope to share the story at some point.
Great post, thanks for sharing.

Weaver mom - Yes, special memories like you're making with your 5 year old daughter:o) Just think, if the Lord tarries she might be blogging about that Star Bucks Chocolate!

Ame - Thanks for checking in. I was just concerned.

Lori B - 200-300 angels. Wow. Her tree has to be beautiful. I would be honored for you to add me to your blogroll!

Julieann - Yes Nova Scotia is our favorite and we're going back there in July. Check it out on my blog.

Ginger - Thanks so much for your sweet comment. No He'll not be finished with us "until that day". That glorious day. I can only imagine!

Wow! Love your little angel...I have always had a special love for "broken people" and to think you have your very own "broken angel"! Love it!

Looks like my one angel visit was from one of those huge, masculine, massive and strong angels your pastor talked of! LOL

I am sure they come in all sizes and packages...depending on need!

Blessings, peace & all that is good!
