THIS & THAT FROM ANOTHER BUSY WEEK

Mickey & I were not able to celebrate our 49th Anniversary on Thursday night because we pick Aric up from school each Thursday and keep him while Marc bowls with a league until 9:30 pm.

Mickey had told me Wednesday night, "Don't plan anything for Friday evening".
So last evening, after giving me a beautiful, weepy (for me!) type card he took us to Lone Star Steakhouse where we had a wonderful steak dinner. It was just the two of us and that was nice, after all the going and doing we've had lately.

I am not into decorating the house for various seasons or holidays, except Christmas which I love and go ALL out for. But since I've been seeing all the beautiful pictures of the extensive decorating some of you do for fall I thought I'd share this picture of my little table setting. I just purchase the blue & white, and gold & white checked napkins and I think they are so cute. I love cloth napkins. The pumpkin holds a candle and I've had it a few years. The man & woman I just purchased at a garage sale a few days before. Again, I am not really into garage sales but I've seen so much neat stuff that you all find and show and when I passed in my neighborhood on the way to the post office I stopped. I found this cute pair for $1 and I love them. Also, got 4 really pretty blue & pink floral placematts for $1. They are definitely not for fall but will look great next spring.

Meet Beryl, Aric & Oksana's other grandmother.
Actually she is great-grandmother! Beryl was in town to visit Marc & Aric for a few days so we took all of us out to our favorite Italian restaurant. Beryl is one super, fantastic gal and we've loved her dearly from the day we first meet her some 14 years ago.

Here are Mickey & I. No wonder I never lose weight!!! We celebrate ALL the time with meals and going out. Oh well, it's fun and we enjoy it. Mickey must have been in the middle of saying something when this was taken from the position of his mouth!!! lol
Here are our 3 guys: Marc, Aric & Uncle David

Here is Aric's new school picture. 8 years old - 3rd grade
Growing up FAR to fast for us.
Starting next week I am going to begin picking Aric up 3 days a week from school. We are adding Monday & Tuesday as Marc has some special projects at his job that need a little more of his presence in the office. I'll only be there until 5:30 on those two days. In fact I think I'll bring him home with me one of those days and Marc can pick him up here and we'll have a weekly family dinner together. See!!! I Told you we are always eating!!!!
The biggest issue for us, and why I don't just bring him to our home all 3 days, is the fact we live in Coweta and they live, work and go to school in Tulsa. The driving back and forth gets a little much.
David's spent most of this first week on the phone taking care of this and that type business. He has spend these first few days at Marc's but we've seen him each day except yesterday and I spoke to him on the phone at least 5 or 6 times!!!
Trust all is well with you and yours!

happy anniversary. 49 years deserves an outpouring of congratulations. sounds like a nice dinner. i love seeing pictures of you two together. i love contrasting different time periods and visually seeing the two of you at different ages.

aric is a handsome young man. you are lucky to have him near by and being an active part of his life. as you mentioned, time goes by so fast and before you know it, he'll be grown and gone.

So glad you had the chance to have a "just the two of you" anniversary celebration. The picture of the two of you just glows with your happiness and contentment. Your Aric is the same age as our D (third grade also)
Such a cute age~
You're right, they grow up far too quickly..

The pictures are just great! It's so fun to see you guys.

I'm not into the fall stuff either. I found some fun stuff at the Cracker Barrel last night, but just couldn't bring myself to buy it. I enjoy the Christmas stuff so much more. I love my fall candles though. Your little table stuff is cute, just enough for me.

It feels like the heat of summer here this weekend, but that's the end of it for us...60 degree days are on their way.

You, like we, are so blessed to have grandchildren close. I know so many people who never get to see them because they're in a different state...or because their children deny them the opportunity to see their grandchildren...what a shame for grandparents and grandchildren.

Happy 49th!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aric is such a cutie!

They are so lucky to have a grandma like you and close enough to be able to see you all the time too!

I love your garage sale purchase of the man and woman...see what this blog world does to all of us...opens our eyes to something we would have missed had we not have "met" each other!

Aric is a cutie! You are fortunate to get to see so much of him.

I like your table decorations--very nice!

I know what you mean about seeing things on blogs and doing them even when it hasn't been a habit before. I have even started dropping into a local thrift store occasionally--And I have done a little more fall decorating than has been my habit. I didn't go all out, but I do have a few pumpkins and fall leaves, etc. scattered around. Guess I'll have to show 'em this week.

That does sound a fair bit of driving, but I think it is awesome that you are doing this, that you get this time with your Grandson and I am praying that God really refreshes you daily!

I don't do much seasonal decorating either - just winter and christmas type things. I do change the look of my fireplace mantel to go with the seasons, but nothing else. With 3 little ones, I don't like to have too many knick-knacks around or all I'll be doing is dusting!! heeehee

I always enjoy catching up on you and your week!

I love Aric's new picture!!

If I haven't already said it, a very Happy Anniversary to you and Mickey!
So glad you had a nice romantic, quiet celebration on Friday!

What a cutie Aric is! The same age and grade as my oldest!

A good week to you, dear Susan!

Great pictures! I enjoyed seeing your family!

I'm the same way about decorating! I don't decorate for fall or spring.....just Christmas! Occasionally, I'll set out a mum or something, but that's about it!

Have a great day!
