SHOW & TELL #7 - Lupine Plants

I finally have a chance to participate in Show & Tell once again.

It is always such a treat to do so and then visit other blogs who have done so. To be part of all this fun visit Kelli's site and sign up on Mr. Linky.

Today I am showing our Lupine plants that are blooming!!!

My dear friend, Anita, from Germany sent us these wonderful seeds last spring.

We planted the seeds and they did not seem to do much and we thought it was perhaps our weather here versus Germany.

Well THIS spring, when we cleared the bed , here were these lovely green lupine plants growing. Now look.......beautiful purple spikes.

We still had some of the seeds left so we planted them in small pots and started them in the garage under the growth light. We recently planted quite a few of them in my "Fruit of the Spirit" flower bed. I am believing by next spring they will be blooming there, in addition to these spreading in this corner flower bed.

Anita has absolutely one of the most beautiful gardens ever. I am just so honored to have this little touch of that beauty now blessing us. I hope you will go visit her blog, My Country Cottage Garden. You will be in for a real treat. Be sure and tell her Susan sent you.

Hey Susan,

You and your hubby have a great talent for growing stuff....these are beautiful! It reminds me a book that Joy and I read about the lady planting them around the countryside!

By the way, you WON my giveaway! Come over and check it out and also email me your address so I can get it out to you soon!

Have a great day!

I love lupines! They always remind me of our numerous trips to Prince Edward Island. Lupines... and the red soil... and green potato fields... reaching down to the blue, blue sea. We have lupines here in northern New England too, but lupines always "say" PEI to me.

Thanks for stopping by my kitchen table, too!

God bless,
Mrs.T

Oh I love Lupines! And Anita does have the most wonderful garden. Hope yours is beautiful this summer. I am trying to work in mine, but have to take it easy because of the babies. So it likely won't be a banner year.

Such a special story behind your 'show & tell' today! Lupins are a wonderful wildflower that grow in the Cascade mountains of Washington state - wild & free...

You have got to go to the library and pick up the children's book Miss Rumphius. It is the most precious book. She is also known as the Lupine Lady.
You will enjoy it so much.

What pretty flowers.

Let me know when you read Miss Rumphius.
