NEVER DULL OR BORING

It's our LIFE that is never dull or boring!!!

Several weeks ago we offered an extended hand to a young man and his wife from our church as they work through some problems in their lives. Since we have the empty 30' RV set up in our back yard we offered it to Stan and he moved in on Friday August 21st. On Thursday, the 24th, another couple from our church , John & Phyllis, hired him to work for them.

Thursday Mickey rented a U-haul and we moved the wife and young children into another house. We had Ronnie G, Brian, Corby, Ronnie Y and Wantha Ann helping us. With 2 loads in the U-haul, pick-ups and Wantha Ann's & my cars loaded down we got the job done in 5 hours. Let me tell you......Thursday evening Mickey & I were feeling it in every muscle and joint. A good nights sleep and we were good to go!! Thank you Lord for your rest and restoration.

Yesterday we did very little and then were treated to a wonderful dinner at Char*les*ton's by Gary & Shirley. Oh it was good!! Then we came back to our home to visit. I called Stan and had him come join us for some of my home made Banana Bread & ice cream. Then John & Phyllis came by to loan Stan a TV with a dvd player. Although the RV is furnished with dishes, linens, microwave, toaster over, etc. it did not have a TV in it. Stan has been reading some of my many Christian books but John hated for him to spend a 3-day Holiday with nothing to do but read.

The 7 of us had a good time visiting and cutting up together. What do people do without friends? Thank goodness I've never had to find out and have always been surrounded by wonderful friends and fellow Christians are the best friends ever!!

Again, no pictures :o( What is wrong with me?!!!! I get too involved in the fun :o)

This morning at 9 we meet Marc, Deann & Aric (Oksana preferred to sleep in!!) at IHOP for breakfast. Always good to get to spend a little time together with them. Marc is so busy all the time we steal these little times whenever, wherever, and however we can. He & Deann are both busy re-painting, stripping out old carpet, doing repairs, etc. in BOTH of their homes to put them on the market. Does that spell work? Yes, with a capital W!!!

On the way home, since I was driving and Mickey was captive!!!, I stopped at 3 garage sales. Then he said, "Enough!". Those of you that know us know Mickey does not like "buying other people's junk", as he calls it. Me......I got 3 sets of glass jars, 6 wooden frames, a 4 piece and a 6 piece napkin set, a 2 set video, 4 napkins rings, 2 small Pyrex bowls and 2 tall, thin coffee mugs for $4.60 total...and I say..... great buys and savings!!!

Now to spend a nice, quiet afternoon and evening at home. Hope you are enjoying your day as much as we are enjoying ours.

Wow, what a weekend you've had already. We'll pray for wisdom as you all extend your hearts and hands to others, and that His life-giving presence will go before and behind you both.

As for me, we got MORE RAIN, so I cleaned the refrigerator, pulled weeds and trimmed hedges. One blister later, I'm enjoying some down time.

Blessings-Kathy

Great post! What a blessing that you were able to help some folks in need and befriend them.

As to the yard sales: I LOVE a store called Christ*mas*Tree*Shop. They have a row of rockers outside that are always filled with tired hubbies waiting for their thrifty wives to emerge with all their great deals. My hubby calls that store "The Husband Torture Chamber". ;-)

Now, Mickey does have to admit you made good bargains!
God will surely bless your hospitality towards your friends.
Have a great Sunday.

Thankfully, I have a hubby that likes fleamarkets and garage sales better than I do...and I like them quite well! LOL! It is always such a blessing to help others in need isn't it? Have a blessed Sunday Susan!

I am trusting the family to reunite!

Good garage sale bargains - I used to garage sale all the time, but never get around to it these days. I should.

You have to at least get us some pictures of those garage sale finds!!!

Oh, it's been a long time since I've gotten out to garage sale (something about taking 3 kids along doesn't sit well) but I've always been able to find great clothing for the kids!!
