CELEBRATING OUR 52ND & UPDATED PRAYER REQUEST

This is what being married 52 years looks like. I wish for each and everyone of you the happiness and joy in marriage that Mickey & I share. God has truly made us "one flesh".

We opted to celebrate by going out to dinner with our oldest daughter, Suzette, and son-in-love, Dave. We were going out to The Kin*gs Pa*lace for a nice steak dinner.
but it being a Monday they were closed so we ended up at a BBQ restaurant. The food was good and the company fantastic and we had a delightful, enjoyable, actually fun time.

Dave smooching Suzette. Happily married 16+ years and facing the battle of their lives but yet with a smile and a kiss. We are so proud of these two.

Updated Prayer Request For Suzette

God has opened the doors for Suzette to be interviewed for acceptance at the Nat*ional Inst*itute of Hea*lth at Bethesda, Maryland on Tuesday, October 12th at 1:30 p.m. This in itself is truly a miracle and a GOD THING.

This interview is to see if she will be accepted by the Cancer Institute of Health for their aggressive, cutting edge treatment for that purpose. All of her medical information, including the MRI, petscan & blood work have already been received by NIH. She & Dave will be flying out of Tulsa at 6 a.m. Monday, arriving in Bethesda at noon. She will have this interview on Tuesday and they will return to Tulsa by 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday. They are having to pay for their airline tickets, motel and car rental for her to go.

Please join us in praying:

  1. For a safe, easy, uneventful flight up.
  2. For a nice afternoon and rest for both of them on Monday night.
  3. FOR GOD'S CONTINUED FAVOR as her healing is being manifest.
  4. FOR HER ACCEPTANCE IN THIS PROGRAM
  5. For rest for both of them on Tuesday night.
  6. For a safe, easy, uneventful flight back on Wednesday
  7. For whatever the next step it.

If she is NOT accepted into this program on Tuesday she will immediately begin Chemotherapy on Thursday here in Tulsa.

"I have heard thy prayer. I have seen thy tears; behold, I will heal thee; on the third day thou shall go up unto the house of the Lord." II Kings 20:5b

speaking of the righteous..."He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear, in the end he will triumph on his foes." Psalm 112:6-8

With the photo of you and Mickey representing 52 years of marriage, I'd like to say I look forward to that many years with my husband.

I will stand with you in prayer for Suzette and Dave. If God is for us, who can be against us?

I read this verse and couldn't help but think of you and Suzette.

"I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body will rest secure." Ps 16:8-9

Praise God that you will not be shaken and that your precious daughter can know that her body will rest secure!

Hi Susan,
Remember me? It's been ages! Don't know what prompted me to click on your name, but I know Who did, and why! My sister was diagnosed with lung cancer in May! She has recently completed chemo and radiation (with complications that resulted in being in the hospital for 11 days, several pints of blood, etc., but long story short, she is doing well now and in with a good attitude! She is in remission now! PTL!

The past five weeks she has been having preventative radiation on her brain. I guess this is something new they are trying now to prevent the cancer from going to the brain which is usually always does. She has had all her treatment at a cancer institute in Alabama (my hometown.)

We've never had cancer in our family before until now, but she was a smoker from age 15 up until about 20 years ago (she is 72.) She hasn't been one that ever went to church, but is a believer and she has been receptive to Christian things I've given her.

I hope hearing my sister, Ann's story will give you hope and encouragement.

Love and prayers,

Katherine
