Books 11 - 12 - 13 for 2011
Participating once again in Spiritual Sundhttp://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/ay hosted by Charlotte & Ginger.
Book #11
This book was an important read, especially after having read "Heaven Is For Real" and "90 Minutes In Heaven". The reality of Hell needs to be burned into our minds so that we will do everything within our power and influence to show people the way to Heaven.
The pictures for book # 12 & book #13 would not download this morning for me so I cannot show you the covers.
RADICAL
by DAVID PLATT
Book #12
This book goes right along with "not a fan" that was my #11 book. These books have been shaking me out of my "comfort zone" and that is a very good thing. I would highly recommend this book if you are serious about following Jesus and not just content to "go to church regularly".
THE BLESSING
by Gary Smalley & John Trent
Book #13
This book is about the importance of speaking words of Blessing over those we love: our spouse, our children, our extended family, our friends, the people we work with, our church family, literally everyone who is in our lives and we care about. It stresses the importance of not only our words but our actions an the effect we have on ALL who's lives we touch on any level. Our words are so important and we literally speak blessings or cursing with those words.

Radical is one of those life changing books. Amazing.
The sound like a really good read and one that we all could use to shake us up a bit. I think we all get into our comfort zone at times and forget about the reality of Hell and that so many of our loved ones could be headed there. Thanks for the reviews!!!
I admire the reading you do, Susan. You're such an inspiration! We love you, and pray the Lord blesses you and Mickey so!
The second two are wonderful books. I haven't read the first one. What would be do without books? And THE BOOK. Without it we could not write books that impacts another's life.
Thanks for recommending these books. I think more people believe in heaven than believe in hell. It is something people just don't like to think about.
Blessings,
Charlotte
I've started Radical, but haven't finished it yet. Very, very good.
T's parents gave me the book "In Search of the Blessing" when I was dating T and had graduated from high school. I loved that devotional book - and it is by the same authors as The Blessing. I'll have to look around the house for that little devotional book and maybe check the library for the book.
never heard of this book...thanks for the heads up about it. As a writer...I know the power of words....and how the least said can be the most powerful. Hope you have a great week.
i keep seeing this book...i think its time to read it...

Hi Susan, I am appreciate the "book reviews" you give. I am coming to a place now where I can begin to read a little again, besides my Bible reading. (lately I have been fascinated with the latter chapters of Isaiah)
Have you ever red "The God They Never Knew"? I believe it is by Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission. I have more on my shelf that I should be reading ... again. I have put some in my little RV for when I travel. I still read out of the little devotional you sent me as a Pay-it-Forward gift :) I am picking out a couple from your reviews to add to my list. Thanks for posting!
Amen sister. We are not to become complacent in our Lord's service.
The book sounds like an excellent read. Isn't it amazin' how riled we get when rocked outta our comfort zones?
God bless ya and have a most beautiful day sweetie!!!
