SOAKING IN THE WORD OF GOD

I just want to post today about being so blessed to be able and have the opportunity to soak in God's word and teaching.



Mickey & I have for years had our own devotional time each and every morning. We are reading out of two devotional books, and we read through the Bible (we read completely through various versions and then start another version) We are currently reading The Amplified Bible and are in Amos. Then we have prayer time.



It amazes me how God will so often speak directly to us. Saturday we read: "He suffered no man to do them wrong; yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." I Chronicles 16:21-22 Now even though God was speaking here to the Israelites we know The New Testament Lies Hidden in the Old Testament and we know that we have now been made the kings and priests of God: "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father:" Revelation 1:6a , we know we can claim that verse as our very own. As we are watching all that is going on around us in our world today what a comfort that HE SUFFERED (or permitted) NO MAN TO DO US WRONG. Hallelujah



Of course every Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday evening we get such wonderful and sound teaching from our Pastor. We always leave the services full and blessed with the teaching.



This past Sunday evening we had a Messianic Jew, Douglas Carmel, perform a Jewish Seder for us. This is the third time Mickey & I have been blessed to attend one of these meals. It is so wonderful to know that every part of the Jewish Passover meal represents our Lord Jesus Christ. We had invited our friends, Don & Barbara, to attended with us. There were about 200 of us who participated. I forgot to take my camera :o(



I shared with you that back in January one of the woman at my church started a home Bible study every Monday morning at 11. We have now been meeting for 11 weeks and it just gets better and better. We started out with just 3 of us and now there are 11 of us who attend. We have been listening to a tape series by Per*ry St*one on The Rapture. It is just awesome. Then we always have discussion and a prayer time. It is a wonderful time.



I've also brought 2 of this 4 tape series home and Mickey & I have listened to them together. They are that good. If you ever get a chance to view or buy them be sure to do so.

Then two weeks ago my new friend, Sandra, started a Tuesday evening Bible Study in her home. Sandra lives 26 miles from us and I told her it was too far for me to come on a regular basis but I'd come the first week to support her. Well, after the first meeting I came home and told Mickey, "I don't care if it is 52 miles round trip and at night.....I'm going every week." Sandra is a wonderful teacher. The first week she taught on "The Third Day". Last week she taught about "God speaking the world into existence" and followed that theme through the entire Bible into the New Testament. I have no idea what she'll be teaching on tonight but I know it will be good. I can't wait!!!

Thank you Lord that I am privileged to be saturated by your Word and teaching.

THERE IS A SEASON

I was recently sharing with a blog friend how very grateful I was that for a number of years now Mickey & I have begun each day spending 1 1/2 hours in Bible study and prayer time together. She then asked me what I did when I had small children. I thought it was a very thought provoking question. One you don't stop to think about until someone asks you!!! So I've been pondering it the last few days and decided to blog on the subject and my walk with God.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

This is my story and how God has been at work in my life these many years.

We were a family that always attended church. I have worked most of my life since I was 19 up until about 8 years ago. I have had some short periods of not working off and on during that time. One of the longest was the 2 years I did not work after our first son was born.

So when asked by this friend what I did about Bible reading and prayer time when my children were young I had to come to the sad realization that as a family we did not do much. We always attended all church services, and we always said grace at the table, still do. We always said the little night time prayers with the children and taught them to pray them. We talked a lot about our beliefs and stressed them to the children. But as far as family devotions we never did that......I am ashamed and sorry to say this....but it's the truth.

I was saved at the age of 18, on September 24, 1956. My Christian growth has been slow, but progressive. Looking back over the years I can see God's hand so clearly. There are several things the Lord has used primarily in this.

First, is the written word, both God's and others. I have always been an avid reader. Right after I was saved a woman at the Church hand me the complete and unabridged edition of THE CHRISTIAN'S SECRET OF A HAPPY LIFE by Hannah Whitall Smith. Hannah was a Quaker and her book was first published in 1870. The simplicity of Hannah's writing as she talks about our LOVING FATHER GOD and the fact I had such a wonderful relationship with my earthly father was used greatly from the beginning for me to grasp and plant deep in my heart how much I was loved and cared for by God. It is a basic truth that has never left me, even in my darkest moments and trials.

Contrary to some people God has seen fit to move us from church to church and from denomination to denomination. In doing so I have been blessed with some wonderful pastors and teaching. I was saved in a small Independent Baptist Church. After Mickey & I met and married in 1958 we continued there and our two closest friends also began attending with us. On Sunday night AFTER church the 8 of us (Pastor Charlie and his wife, Jean, my forever friend Joan and her husband, my newly made friend, who would also become a forever friend, Bev and her husband, and Mickey & I) would gather around our kitchen table and discuss and study the Bible. . Charlie was aware we were 6 young adults who were eager to follow God and learn all we could. He truly discipled us!!!

Being a reader it was easy for me to quickly develop reading the Bible regularly. I was also devouring one religious book after another. I seldom read anything else and quite often had 2 or 3 books going at the same time. This habit has continued all these years. I have learned much and been blessed much in reading.

After moving to Tulsa in 1964 I discovered Christian radio and learned a great deal by listening to various preachers and teachers. One 1/2 hour teaching after another 1/2 hour teaching.

Over the years we have attended the following churches: Independent Baptist, Southern Baptist, Bible, Vineyard, 3 non-denominational, and currently Assembly of God. I was employed at Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, in the accounting department, for 3 years. At that time they had Chapel Services every Friday and that was my first exposure to Pentecostal. We were blessed to attend the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida twice in 1999. God has used these various avenues to stretch us, to grow us and to give me a view of the true Body of Christ and Universal Church that I address often.

In 1977 we decided to put our two sons in private christian schools which were connected to a Bible Church. We transferred our church membership there. This was a wonderful move for us. The pastor was a great bible teacher and they promoted Bible Memory Association. I immediately signed up and completed 3 courses of Bible Memory work. So after being a faithful Christian, church goer, Bible reader, and religious book reader the Word of God suddenly became alive to me. I fell in love with the WORD. I have never lost that love and excitement about the Word of God and it has grown consistently throughout these years.

In 1984 our family began to face very serious family problems which ended up affecting our marriage of 25 years. It was the worst period of my life and it was only my strong faith in God and his WORD and truths that helped me stay and fight for my marriage. At this time I discovered TBN and other religious broadcasting which I listened to & absorbed hour after hour. It was also the support of my two close Christian forever friends who helped me stay the course and win the battle.

Although faithful in the Word and "jiding the word in my heart that I might not sin against him" I suddenly realized although I prayed, and prayed a lot, I didn't know the first thing about prayer or how to pray. I began to ask God to show me and teach me about praying as He prayed and wanted us to pray. I began reading every book I could on prayer and seeking His face about it. Slowly the prayer world began to open up to me. Getting to know Jesus on a one-to-one personal level. Not only as Savior, and then Lord, but as Friend!!!

At this same time we started attending a Vineyard church. It was Vineyard that exposed and showed us about true worship of God through song. It was during our years at Vineyard that we participated and learned about Cell Groups. It was at Vineyard that the second most important event in my walk with Jesus occurred when I was filled with the Holy Spirit on July 20, 1986. Valuable experiences that grew me and stretched me yet more.

My prayer life was increasing as God began to answer my prayer. You know "He gives us the desires of our heart." When we "Seek Him with your whole heart you shall find Him."

These last years, since moving to Coweta in 1998, we have attended non-denominational churches and now The Assembly of God. It was in 2000 that the second most important book of my Christian walk came to my hands. ANDREW MURRAY ON PRAYER. If you are a regular reader you know I have mentioned this book over and over again.

In 2004 after fasting for 12 days in the Arizona desert His word to us was Colossians 4: 5 & 6 - "Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how we ought to answer every man." We parked the RV in May 2004 and we have been endeavoring to redeem the time as we have been instructed by His WORD.

I've gone into a lot more than just what we did when our children were young, but I felt it was important to share with you how God has worked and is working in my life..

2008 has been another pivotal year for us. On January 1st our Church theme for the year was "I WANT MORE" of God. As we have pressed into that God has moved us into the middle of what He is doing and speaking, on a world-wide level, now to THE CHURCH "Pray without ceasing". So we truly are seeking to "Redeem the time & pray without ceasing."

STANDING ON HIS WORD

Standing on HIS word is something I've been doing for years. It has really been brought home these past 40+ days just how crucial it is to do just that, moment by moment.

I remember years ago studying Bible Memory work under the Navagators and learning a very fundamental visual lesson that has stood the test of time. I thought I would share that with you today. Those who have heard this, it will refresh your memory, those who have not heard it I hope it will be something you can cling to

Picture your hand, and the 5 fingers on your hand. Each finger stands for a truth about Hiding the Word in our hearts.

#1 - HEAR the WORD - Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

#2 - READ the WORD - Ephesians 3:4 "Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ." & Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

#3 - STUDY the WORD - II Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

#4 - MEMORIZE the WORD - Psalms 119:9-11 "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word."

#5 - MEDITATE on the WORD - Psalms 143:5 "I remember the days of old; I meditate on all they works: I muse on the work of thy hands." & Psalms 119:99 "I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation."

The times of testing will come and when they do it is the WORD OF GOD that sustains us and gives us strength to stand.

God is so very faithful to encourage us and to send us tokens of what we need along the way. David has had two of these special tokens from God during the past weeks he has been home. (1) He and his brother were at the bowling Alley and "out of the blue" (?) no......from God!!......a man came up to David and said "God loves you and I love you." (2) Last week Aric, David and I were standing in line at M*c*D*o*n*a*l*d*s and I was telling Aric what a fine young man he was and then I said "Is Uncle David a young man?" A young man standing in front of the 3 of us turned to us and said, "We are all young since we will never die". We began talking to him and found that he was a Prodigal that had returned to God. He talked about the words, prayers and teaching of his mother never leaving him. David was almost in tears and saying, "Everywhere I turn God is confirming himself to me."

Last Sunday, November 4th, David officially joined the church. Another momentous day in our lives. Our Pastor's wife said to him, "We are expecting great things from you, David."

I cannot tell you the joy it is to have David join Mickey & I every morning at 7:30 for our Bible Study and prayer time. We have longed for this day as the three of us join hands and pour out our tears of gratitude to our God. He has been in every Sunday morning and evening service, and every Wednesday night and even went the last Saturday of October to help with the Angel Food Ministry.

He has a very important job interview Monday morning at 9 a.m. We ask that you join with us in praying about this. Our prayer is that God will open the door he wants David to walk through and will close the ones he does not want him to walk through.

I know many of you are praying with us, and for us, during this time. I want you to know how very much that means to us and how very much we appreciate that fact

MORE ON HIM MONDAY #2

I had chosen Him In My Life for that first one because I KNOW God was very much at work in our lives. Now I am choosing to write about Scripture Speaks.

The instructions for Scripture Speaks are: share a specific piece of scripture that has spoken to you this last week. Share what you feel God is telling you through that passage and how you plan to apply it to your life.

If you will forgive me, Diana, I am going to bend the instructions a little. This is not a scripture that God spoke to me last week but many years ago and I have been standing firm on it. Because I have witnessed, in the past three weeks this scripture being FULFILLED I want to share it and my story with you.

When David first disappeared from our lives, in 1986, I began to stand on and cling to, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

This is a very familiar verse that most mothers claim as they are raising their little ones. I know I did. Then when David left it became even dearer to me and I stood in faith on the words "when he is old". Believing with all my heart that the final chapters had not yet been written in any of my children's lives.

Then on January 1, 1987 the Lord gave me a new verse:

"Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for they work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border." Jeremiah 31:16 & 17

The part that REALLY spoke to me was, "they shall come again from the land of the enemy." and "thy children shall come again to their own border." I knew that my children were in the land of the enemy but they would come "from" it and return to "their own border", come back to God.

I stood firmly on these two scriptures from that point: Proverbs 22:6 and Jeremiah 31:16-17.

Then on May 13, 2001, as I was meditating on Jeremiah, a piece of the scripture just jumped off the page at me. "Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears"!!!! Don't you just love the way you can be so familiar with scripture and then the Lord gives you totally new revelation on that very scripture? What a God we serve.

As these words jumped off that page I KNEW what God was saying to me was, "you have been crying to me about this for 14 1/2 years......quit crying, wipe your tears and begin rejoicing in what I am doing". WOW!!!

Can I tell you that in the following 6 years I never shed a tear over David and my other 3 children? No! But I can tell you they have been few and far between and when I prayed I was no longer weeping and pleading before the Lord, but was indeed rejoicing, thanking him and standing firm on "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things NOT SEEN" Hebrews 11:1

I trust the Lord has lead me to share Jeremiah 31: 16 & 17 and my story with you today. To all of us, who's children are not making Jesus the LORD of their lives, I know the Lord is saying, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND." Ephesians 6;13

IT IS ON GOD'S WORD AND GOD'S FAITHFULNESS THAT I STAND

MOONFLOWERS

Moonflower

I just feel so blessed when God speaks to my heart very simply in something I see

It is one of my continual prayers that this verse will describe me: "But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear." Matthew 13:16

Mickey planted these Moonflowers recently. Vigorous, climbing vine with purest white, fragrant flowers, up to 6" across, that open from evening until the following noon. Ht. 15'.

Looking at these vines the other day I was struck by the varying height that they had grown. All were planted the same day and yet look at the difference in their growth.

The one to the left is only a few inches tall and yet very full and healthy looking, the one on the right is not as full based and yet has climbed up about 18" on the green stake, the one in the middle has a full base and has not only climbed up the height of the frame but it beginning to spread out to the left.

As I looked at these 3 plants I thought about how we as Christians grow in the Lord. It will be interesting to watch and see which of these Moonflowers is the first to bloom with the beautiful 6" white fragrant flower. Will it be the first one that has shot up so fast? I truthfully have no idea.

I have witnessed Christians that seem to shoot up very rapidly and then die out just as rapidly. I have witnessed Christians that have been slow to grow but put down very strong firm roots and stand firm when the enviable storms or opposition come. I have witnessed a lot in between these two scenarios.

These Moonflowers remind me of the Parable of the Seed recorded in Mark 4:14-20.

"The sower soweth the word. And there are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred."

I know looking at these Moonflowers made me take note and inspect my fruit. I constantly want to be sure that I'm not letting the things in this world hinder my walk and my growth with my Savior. How about you? How is the seed of the Word growing in your life? We will ALL give an account some day. "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phillipians 2:9&10

THE WORD - WORDS

I have always loved words. Either speaking them (I am a talker) or reading them. I loved talking and discussing things with my father and mother. Being raised, basically as an oly child, books were very much my friends from a very early age. As a young girl I think I read every Nancy Drew book. Many a night I would be reading in the middle of the night and my mother would awaken and see the light on in my room and hollwe, "Susan, shut out that light and go to sleep".

I remember, as a young girl, having discussions with my father about libraries. Being born in 1885 he was well aware what a privilege it was when Public Libraries began to be opened and established. We today just take for granted that we can get almost any book, at any time. All we have to do is go to a book store, or a library or even on line and find them. It did not use to be so and books were very scarce and precious.

The first public library was claimed to be established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1636. The Boston Library still operates today. Benjamin Franklin and a group of his friends founded The Library Company of Philadelphia in 1731 as a means to settle arguments. The subscription library was born. A subscription library allowed individuals to buy "shares". The money raised from the sale of shares went into buying more books. A member, or shareholder, then had rights to use the library. The Library Company, which may have been the first truly public library (members could actually borrow books), is still in existence as a nonprofit, independent research library.

The Library of Congress was established by an act of Congress in 1800 under President John Adams. With an appropriation of $5,000 the original library was housed in the new Capitol until August, 1814, when invading British troops set fire to the Capitol Building, burning and pillagint the contents of the small library.

Within a month retired President Thomas Jefferson offered his personal library as a replacement. Jefferson had spent 50 years accumulating books, "putting by everything which related to America, and indeed whatever was rare and valuable in every science"; his library was considered to be one of the finest in the U.S. In January 1815, Congress accepted his offer, and appropriated $23,950 for his 6,487 books. As an aside, The Library of Congress is the most beautiful building I have ever had the privilege of seeing.

Andres Carnegie was the person who made it possible for many communities to have a library. Between the years 1883 and 1929 he funded 2,509 libraries in English speaking countries. 1,689 were built in the U.S. Very few towns that requested a grant and agreed to his terms were refused. When the last grant was made in 1919, there were 3,500 libraries in the U.S. of which nearly half were paid for by Carnegie.

It was in 1935 when the first mass produced paper back books became available. The reduced cost of these books was a further step in making the written word available to a large number of people.

It is truly amazing when we take time to stop and think about words. Almost all communication is done with words. We speak and communicate to one another in words. We are so excited when a baby says that first word. The ability to form ideas in our mind and relate our thoughts to others is in words, either spoken or written. Even the third verse in our Bible begins "And God said...."

I am thankful for words, for the ability to speak, for the ability to read, for the ability to purchase and own the books of my choice, for the ability to check out a book from my library or borrow a book from a friend, for the ability to read the various posts on the blogs I choose and find interesting, informative or funny.

Most of all I am thankful that God inspired men, by the Holy Spirit, to write the 66 books that form our Bible.

I am thankful the New Testament is CONTAINED in the Old Testament and the Old Testament is EXPLAINED in the New Testament.

I am thankful the New Testament is CONCEALED in the Old Testament and the Old Testament is REVEALED in the New Testament.

I am thankful the New Testament AUTHENTICATES the Old Testament and the Old Testament ANTICIPATES the New Testament.

I am thankful the New Testament LIES HIDDEN in the Old Testament and the Old Testament LIES OPEN in the New Testament.

I am thankful the Old Testament PREDICTS a Person and the New Testament PRESENTS that Person.

I AM THANKFUL FOR GOD'S WRITTEN WORD

THE ABILITY TO READ AND SPEAK IT

THE PRIVILEGE OF LIVING IN A FREE COUNTRY

400 Year Ago TODAY

April 29, 1607

That's right - 400 years ago this very day our forefathers arrived from England after a 4 month journey by sea.

Stood on the shore of what is now Jamestown, Virginia and declared the following:

It has! America has overwhelmingly been responsible for spreading the Gospel (the good news) of Jesus Christ around the world. Our very nation was founded upon the laws of God as proclaimed by the Bible, God's Holy Word.

It breaks my heart to see what is happening to our nation and to the Church. We are becoming a desensitised people. You cannot tell any different between the average Christian today and Joe Blow. It is heartbreaking.

In 1945 sixty four % of Americans held a

Biblical World View.

In 2007 only 4% of Americans hold a Biblical World View.

GOD HELP US!!!!

As for my husband and I we take a stand this day to do what we can in our little world to make a difference and stand up for what is right, and good and HOLY.

Get REAL!

The following is a devotion I read a few weeks ago in "The Word For You Today". It was so good I haven't been able to get it out of my mind so am posting it for all of you to enjoy.

"Make a careful exploration of who you are...then sink yourself into that."

Galatians 6:4 The Message

Are you living as God intended, or are you struggling to live up to other people's expectations? What would happen if you just dropped your mask and got real?

The story of The Velveteen Rabbit has a timeless message for each of us. In a conversation between a new toy rabbit and an old skin horse,

Rabbit asks, "What's real? Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick out handle?"

"Real isn't how you're made," replied Horse.

"It's a thing that happens to you when a child really loves you."

"Does it hurt?" asked Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said Horse. "But when you're real you don't mind."

"Does it happen all at once?" he asked.

"It doesn't" said Horse.

"It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept.

Generally by the time you're real most of your hair has been loved off, your eyes drop out, you get loose in the joints and very flabby.

But these things don't matter because once you're real you can't be ugly,

Becoming real means accepting yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, acknowledging that in God's eyes you're a work-in-progress.

Paul writes: "Since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed...parts...let's...go ahead and be what we were made to be"

(Romans 12:4-6 The Message)

Then he adds: Sink yourself into that,"

and God will take you places you never imagined.

Who Is Jesus?

In chemistry, he turned water to wine.

In biology, he was born without the normal conception.

In physics, he disapproved the law of gravity when he ascended into heaven.

In economics, he disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5,000 men with two fishes & 5 loaves of bread.

In medicine, he cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs.

In history, he is the beginning and the end.

In government, he said that he shall be called wonderful counselor, prince of peace.

In religion, he said no one comes to the father except through him.

So, who is He?

He is Jesus!

He is my Lord and my Savior.

In God I've found everything!

Not all these books reside on this table all the time. They have been placed here for the picture! What resides on this table are the current ones we are studying out of,

The King James and The Message, plus two devotional books and our prayer journal.

The angel on the back corner lives on this table with our daily devotionals, Bibles and books.

She is holding in front of her the letters L O V E with "my family"

written on the heart that forms the O. I bought her at a garage sale.

Since she is made of fabric I decided to include my two other fabric angels.

The one sitting on the left corner was given to me by our dear friends, Jack & Mary.

The little one sitting on the big Family Bible usually sits on the blue Fostoria bowll

on the lamp table behind. I purchased her but I don't really remember where.

These are the only fabric angels I have.

Sitting in front of my Message Bible is an angel made of tin. I know she is hard to see.

She has a blue robe with red trim on the bottom, sleeves and neck. She is holding a candle.

Her hair is yellow and her wing is dark pink. She is a Christmas ornament

that I bought in New Mexico. She lives in the corner of a picture frame.

The other two, sitting on The New American Standard Bible, are matching napkin ringsmadefor meby our good friends, Don and Barbara.

Now for the other books and Bibles on the table.

In the far left corner is our daily devotional book My Utmost For His Highest

by Oswald Chambers. While visiting my forever friend in Albuquerque

in October, 1997 she had one of these and I really liked it.

For Christmas of 1996 it was part of my Christmas gifts from Mickey.

We began it on 1-1-98 and are now in our 10th year of reading it daily.

To the right of the Large Family Bible is one of my many favorite books.

It is Andrew Murray on PRAYER. I received a gift certificate

for a local Christian Book Store from some girls I worked with,

just before we left on one of our long journeys to the

Eastern United States and Eastern Canada.

When I went to select books before we left this is one I purchased.

We began reading it in July 2000 and have since re-read it 4 other times.

This is a book that changed our lives in the area of prayer.

To the far right is The J.B. Phillips New Testament in Modern English.

I have had this New Testament for many years..

To the far left front is our LARGE Print AMPLIFIED Bible.

Sitting on top of that is my newest addition...it is a

Franklin Electronic KJV Bible.

This was my Christmas gift from my dear husband, Mickey this past year.

I love it!!

To the right of the Electronic Bible is our Prayer Journal..

This journal was a gift from my dauthter-in-love from a business trip she made

to Bangladesh in 2006. It is all handmade paper and very beautiful.

The Bible in the far right corner is my King James Version of the Bible.

It is my most treasured possession.

When asked the question, "If you could only save one thing what would it be?".

I never have to wonder or think twice. It would be this BIBLE.

After 17 1/2 yeqars the pages are paper thin,

We had it rebound in May, 1978 because it was falling apart.

I love THE WORD of GOD.

We also have a Living Bible.

The Marked Reference Bible by Vondervan

and a Spanish New Testament.

Mickey has a The Scofield Reference Bible. It was given to him by the Pastor when he was saaved on March 27, 1959.

In addition to the various Bibles.

we also value our reference books: W.E. Vine's An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Word; Vine's Complete Expositor Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words:

Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary On The Whole Bible;

Strong's Exhaustive Concordance Of The Bible.

One of the MANY things I have always been thankful for is being born at a time

in history where we have so much knowledge at our fingertips in books.

Never, did I fathom the knowledge that is now available to us at our fingertips

clicking away on a keyboard and accessing all knowledge known to man.
