I know blogger has a way to do this, but it sounded too complicated for us, and there was also a risk of losing your header according to them. What we are doing is copying them, post by post, by the year, to Word and then burning them onto a CD. This way we will have them.
Back in 2007 I spent days and days scanning a lifetime of photos into the computer. Now in 2009 we are spending days and days copying every single post into Word. So far we have done 4 of the 26 months I have been blogging.
It is so wonderful for Mickey to have his own computer now and he is helping with this BIG task. One of the main purposes for my blog is for a record for our children and grandchildren when we are gone. This effort is a way that we can be assured of that.
*************
Now for the tip: When I had the background of my blog changed to the dark blue it currently is back in July of 2007 it did not change the colors of the type I had used. Consequently a lot of the words, or script, was not readable. The result of this is that it was necessary to go back and re-type these posts over. When the change was made I re-typed some of them and then, like so often happens, got side-tracked and never got back to that job. As we are now copying them, post by post, I am having to re-type a very large part of them. A LOT of work, let me tell you!!!!
Just wanted to pass this along to you as I know a lot of you change your designs and backgrounds and this may be something to consider in case you ever desire to make a permanent, readable copy of your blog.

As we enter this period in our country, and in our world, of so much change & uncertainity I feel the Lord is telling us, as Christians, to be alert . To use our ears to really hear, and use our eyes to really see, what is going on around us and what the Spirit of God is truly saying, and showing, each of us.
On the last one we know that if what is being said cannot be supported by Scripture then it is to be doubted and checked out.
We truly must listen and watch what is going on around us and being told to us.
As I posted in the previous post I am totally and utterly disheartened that one of Obama's first acts in govering is to reverse the abortion fund policy. I, for one, and I KNOW I am not alone, cannot understand how one can claim to be a Christian and stand for and support abortion. Supply of funding for abortions is certainly supporting abortion.
I am praying for President Obama daily, as we are instructed to do. I am praying for the Peace of Jeresulem daily, as we are instructed to do. I am also keeping my ears and my eyes open. I am praying that each and every one of us do that.
WILL YOU JOIN ME?
Having said all this.....one thing I know for sure.......God is in control...
we have nothing to fear if we stay under HIS covering and protection.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
It was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.
*Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
*The second mouse gets the cheese.
* Birthdays are good for you,
The more you have, the longer you live.
* You may be only one person in the world,
But you may also be the world to one person.
* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
* A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Have an awesome day and know that someone thought about you today...
I did.....

I, for one love great quotes. Here are 10 of them to share.
I'd be interested in which is your favorite and why.
My favorite it Albert Schweitzer's "One truth stands firm. All that happens in world history rests on somethings spiritual. If the spiritual is strong, it creates world history. If it is weak, it suffers world history."
I feel we are in a stage of such spiritual weakness that we are suffering world history.

Boy, those words are so easy to say and so hard to do. I KNOW because we've raised 4 grown children and it was a very looooog lesson for me to learn. Sometimes I can be a VERY slow learner!! After an age span of 15 years between the oldest and the youngest you'd have thought #4 would have come easy to let go of. No, as I say, I can be a very slow learner.
Back in 1983 a very dear friend of mine, Bev (she's with the Lord now. I'll blog about her one of these days) gave me a plaque for Christmas that she had done in calligraphy and then decoupaged on a large board. It has hung in every home we've lived in since 1983 and will be there when I leave for my Heavenly home!
Some of you may have heard these words already but I'm going to share them just in case you haven't.
