Saw this on my friend Crystals blog and it looked different and fun so thought I'd give it a try.

RIght now, I am...

:: marveling At how much God loves me.

:: tired  from cleaning our son's house on Thursday and still not total recuperated.

:: laughing after having just posted about cows running down our street the other day and police men and a patrol car "herding" them.

:: overwhelmed when I see the mess our country is in and not knowing if we are going to put someone in as President who can really make a difference.

:: pleasantly enjoying the wonderful life I have with my husband.

:: wondering just how many years we might have left here on earth.

:: grateful for the wonderful life we've had together these 53 years.

:: hearing the sound of the TV from the living room where my husband is watching TV

:: going out to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate some wonderful friends birthdays.  The husband and wife share a January 15th birthday (and she is one year older - but don't tell her I told :o)
)
:: planning are having a less hectic week this week than we had last week.

:: digging around for new and different ideas to do in blogging......like this one!

:: sewing is definitely a thing of my past.

:: listening to be sure I'm in tune with God and what He speaks to me.

:: eating again after fasting liquids only for the first 12 days of this New Year.

:: saying I'm glad our after Christmas Christmas Party for our King's Kitchen ministry was Saturday night and a lot of fun but I wish more people would have come.

Yet another MEME of questions

I saw this over a year ago on a friends blog and thought I would do it "sometime".  I guess "sometime" has finally arrived!

1) What is your biggest pet peeve?  People who are not straightforward and honest would be #1 and #2 is someone who constantly complains about all that is wrong in their life.

2)  If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?  Right here in Coweta, Ok because it is close to 2 or our 3 living children, and because of the church family we have and the wonderful church we attend.  Plus it is a nice, small town that still has a lot of christian values and principles.

3)  Have you ever been searched by the cops?  NO!!!!  I have only been stopped by them a few times over my life and that for a driving infraction.

4)  What is the one thing on your mind right now?  Struggling with the loss of our daughter, Suzette.  It will be 1 year (on the 28th) that she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.  This has been one difficult year.

5)  What is your favorite song right now?  I Can Only Imagine.....because I truly can only imagine!!!!

6)  What talent do you wish you had?  I have always thought it would be so wonderful to be able to draw and/or paint.  Just to see the beauty of God's world and capture that on a canvas must be a really wonderful feeling.

7)  What is your favorite drink?  Mickey & I are avid coffee drinkers.  I also drink a lot of water.  If I do drink soda, which is not often, I like the lime/lime flavors.

8)  Describe yourself in one word?  Perservering.....and I have a pillow to prove it!!

If you desire to play along and do this let me know so I can be sure and read yours.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!!

I've been tagged by Reva of Gifting Each Today. I'm to answer the following 8 questions made up by Reva, make up 8 questions of my own, and then tag 8 of you to answer my questions.

Sooooo, ready......... set .......... let's GO!!

1. If you had to choose only one favorite sweet thing what would it be? Vanilla Cheesecake with some chocolate drizzle.

2. Which is most like you; Pastels, rich reds and blues, greens and oranges and browns, lavendars and pinks? I'd fall mostly in the rich reds & blues category.

3. what is your favorite memory of a childhood game or activity you enjoyed? (younger than 12)
Kick the can for outside & monopoly for inside.

4. which would you have most enjoyed as a career other than what you have or are doing now and why? I would love to have a degree in Christian counciling so I could help people who struggle with different issues.

5. What have you secretly felt you are very good at but usually don't talk about? I love to write, and like to think I'm fairly good at it. I just love "words". Both written and spoken.

6. If you had a million dollars handed to you what is the first thing you would BUY? I would take a trip to Israel and I would add a sunroom and enlarge our dining area in our home. I guess these two don't really qualify as "buying" something, but that's what I would spend the first money on.

7. Have you ever shot a gun and have you ever been hunting? NO, I hate guns and we have none in our home. A request of mine that my husband honors. Mickey carried a gun for years when he worked for Brinks and we had to have one in the house but when he retired I ask him to please sell it and he did. He loves me!!!!

8. Which would you be most likely to adopt? a cat or dog, a zoo animal, a child relative, a special needs child, a baby, a grandma, a pet rock or a street to clean? A child relative.

That was very fun.......now for the hard part....thinking up 8 questions I want answered.

#1. If money were no object what would you like to do that you've never been able to do or have always wanted to do?

#2. If you could have "do overs" what is the 1 thing you would never do again? And why?

#3. If you could have "do overs" what is the 1 thing you would want to be absolutely, positively sure you did again? And why?

#4 What is the worst fear?

#5. What is your greatest joy?

#6. What is your life verse, or if you don't have one, your favorite Bible verse?

#7. What church do you attend? And why? If you do not attend a church, why not?

#8. If you knew you only have 1 year to live, what is the first thing you would do?

Now comes the next hardest thing to do: picking 8 people to tag.
#I - Sharon of New Country Girl
#II - Nancy of In My Neck of the Woods
#III - Debra of And it Came to Pass
#IV - Theresa of Devotions for the Seasons of My Life
#V - Sunny of Just Plain Country Living
#VI - Joy of Joy in the Burbs
#VII - Sohailah of Adventures in Hope
#VIII - Sherry of Groovy's Ruminations

Please let me know when you post your answers!!! Thanks for playing along.

I walk: Not nearly enough!!!!

I write: Because I love to and cannot imagine not writing!!

I see: Poorly in the natural but very well in the Spiritual and truth.

I sing: Any time I hear a hymn or song.

I can: Do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!!!!!

I watch: Some FOX TV, the local news, Deal or no deal, and Perry Stone dvd's.

I daydream: No, I do not daydream. I never have, even as a kid. To me REAL life is too exciting and wonderful to waste.

I fall: For very little!

I want: Exactly the life I have except I want to see all my children and grandchildren in church
and loving and serving HIM.

I cry: Almost every morning when praying.

I love: My life, my Lord, my husband, my family, my friends, my church and my country.

I read: Christian books constantly. See my list for this year on my sidebar.

I eat: Too many sweets!!!

I drink: Too much coffee.

I play: Don't any more. Use to play the piano.

I miss: Traveling the US & Canada like we were privileged to do.

I drive: a Sunburst Orange HHR Chevy & do most of the driving.

I lost: More nice earrings and jewelry items than I like to think about :o(

I dream: A LOT. Especially beginning with my fasting in January. I asked the Lord to start giving me dreams and He has. He gives us the desires of our heart.

I kiss: my husband; my kids & grandkids.

I hug: ALL those close to me: family, friends, church members, neighbors,

I have: Every thing I need.

I remember: All the good Biblical teachers and preachers we've been blessed to hear and sit under and learn from.

I believe: Jesus is the Son of God and He's coming soon and He is the rewarder of those who love and serve Him. I believe I have eternal life, and it doesn't begin when I die but it began when I was Born Again.

I owe: On my HHR & 1 year & 6 months left on our house!!!!!

I know: In Whom I have believed - JESUS!!!!

I hate: Drugs & alcohol and what they do to people's lives and souls. I dislike liars.

I wish: See I hope above: To See Christ Return During My Lifetime.

My ex: Is like something that never really happened in my life.

I should: Do better on trying to lose some more weight.

People would say that I'm: Over extended in the many things we do, but we know we are doing exactly what God has, and is, calling us to do.

I don't understand: Why anyone would not believe in Jesus and His finished work of redemption and salvation.

Life if full of: What we decide it will be for us. If we expect bad - we'll get it. If we expect good - we'll get it. I expect and receive a good, full life of joy, good health, and good things.

My past is: What it is and has made me who I am today.

I get annoyed when: don't keep their word and those who are habitually late.

Parties are: fun!!!!

Never in my life have I: been drunk.

I am usually thinking about: What God is showing and speaking to my heart.

When I was younger, I: was not too much different than I am today.

When I was 7: I was in the third grade and had met my forever friend, Joan, the year before and we are still friends, really more like sisters, these 65 years later.

My life is incomplete without: my family loving the Lord.

If you visit my hometown: you will be in the 2nd oldest city in the U.S.

I once dreamt that: something I didn't want to be true was true. But I knew it was true when I dreamt it. It was something the Lord showed me ahead of time.

The world could do without: Everything that is not of God and Godly.

MORE ABOUT ME THAN YOU WANTED TO KNOW

Mari over at My Little Corner Of The World had this cute Meme as her post. It's been a long time since I've done one of these and I have a lot of newer readers since the last time I did one so thought it would be fun to participate. Here goes......

The phone rings. Who will it be?
One of my three children, or my friend Wantha, or the young man living with us.

When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?

Yes, almost always or at least park it in the cart parking section.

In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?

It truly depends on the social setting, but probably more of a talker. I am a good listener though because I really want to know about people and you can learn so very much by just listening......sometimes more to what they are not saying!!!!

Do you take compliments well?

Yes, I use to not and then I read that when you don't accept a compliment you are making the one giving you the compliment feel like they don't know what they are talking about. That made sense to me so I've learned to just graciously say, "Thank you."

Do you play Sudoku?

No, never heard of it.

If abandoned alone in the wilderness, would you survive?

NO!! I am very dependent upon my husband.

Did you ever go to camp as a kid?

Yes, both to Church camp and Girl Scout camp. I loved going.

What was your favorite game as a kid?

Out doors - Kick the Can - In doors - Monopoly.

Could you date someone with different religious beliefs than you?

NO!! NEVER!! My faith in Jesus is my very core and my very breath. It is the most important thing to me.

Do you like to pursue or be pursued?

Definitely pursued. I'm from the old school and that is just the way it was done. I think it would be nice if it was still done that way :o)

Use three words to describe yourself?

Jesus followerer and lover, Wife, Mother and I'm going to name a 4th - Friend. I guess the 5th would be "someone who doesn't always follow instructions to a T !!"

Do any songs make you cry?

No, not usually but worship songs make me joyous and blessed.

Are you continuing your education?

Not in the "formal" sense but yes as far as viewing life as an education and being interested in learning new things constantly. After all I'm 71 years old and blog!!!

Have you ever taken pictures in a photo booth?

Yes, certainly. The last time was when visiting my forever friend, Joan, while in Albuquerque!! It was fun!!!

How often do you read books?

Constantly!!!! I just finished "Plucking The Eagle's Wings" by Perry Stone. I am currently reading my 6th Joel Rosenberg book, "Inside the Revolution", also started "Angels on Assignment" by Perry Stone and have "Shaken Not Shattered" by Matthew Hagee waiting in line when I finish Angels!!! I also read a lot of blogs and receive a lot of devotional type e-mails from various ministries. I read my Bible each morning to start my day. Oh yes, I love to read.

Do you think more about the past, present or future?

Definitely the present because I believe in living very much in the day and moment I'm in. I do look forward to the future and the Rapture of the Church. I never dwell on the past because it's just that....pasted - gone.

What is your favorite children's book?

There was a little book about a squirrel who put sand in the children's eyes to make them sleepy at night that my father used to read to me and I loved it. Don't remember the actual name of the book. I think I read every Nancy Drew book growing up.

What color are your eyes?

Hazel

Where is your dream house located?

I am perfectly content with the small house my husband & I are currently living in, except I wish we had a little more dining and living room space as we love to entertain.

If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed?

My leather bound King James Version Bible that was given to me by Mickey 50 years ago on our first anniversary. The pages are paper thin and I've had it rebound once, because it was falling apart. It is what our marriage and my happy life has been based on.

When was the last time you were at Olive Garden?

Just a couple of weeks ago with our dear friends, Don & Barbara, to celebrate Don's birthday.

Where was the furthest place you traveled today?

Haven't yet.... it's 5:16 a.m.!!! I'll be driving a mile to church at 10:30 to work in our new clothing ministry.

Do you like mustard?

Yes, and I prefer the dark mustard.

Do you look like your mom or dad?

My mother.

How long does it take you in the shower?

Never timed it but I'm quick in and quick out and I always wash my hair, too.

Can you do the splits?

No, never could even though I took ballet and was pretty limber.

What movie do you want to see right now?

None, I'm not a movie person. Give me that book!!!!!

What did you do for New Year's?

We always eat Black Eyed Peas!!!

Do you think The Grudge was scary?

Never heard of it.

Do you own a camera phone?

No.

What's the last letter of your middle name?

I don't have a middle name but have used my Maiden name, as my middle, since getting married. The last letter is "t".

How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

5 or 6. I don't require a lot of sleep. That's why I'm doing this Meme in the wee morning hours :o)

What do you buy at the movies?

I rarely go but if I do go I HAVE to have popcorn and soda pop.

Do you know how to play poker?

Yes, and use to enjoy playing when we were young married with friends. That was our "entertainment" back then. I haven't played in years but haven't forgotten how.

Do you wear your seat belt?

Yes, always.

How many meals do you eat a day?

3 if you count a piece of toast each morning as breakfast.

Do you like funny or serious people better?

I certainly enjoy a good funny evening with friends from time to time but I really prefer a serious discussion with interesting people.

Ever been to L.A.?

Yes, but I much prefer San Diego or the Bay area.

Did you eat a cookie today?

No, but only because there were none in the cookie jar!!!

Do you hate chocolate?

You've got to be kidding!!!

Are you a gullible person?

Yes. I am very trusting and believe the best in people. Usually I am right about them.

Are you easy to get along with?

Yes, but if I get overly tired I can get impatient.

THAT'S IT!!

Join in the fun if you want. Please be sure and let me know if you participate so I can come learn more about you.

"Interview Me"

My blog buddy, Brenda, of It's All Right, posted an interview. These questions are from Brenda. If you'd like me to give you an interview, just leave "Interview Me" in your comments, and I'll shoot over some questions so I can get to know you better, too.

1. If money or time weren't an issue, what would you consider an ideal vacation? I would go The Netherlands. My father was Dutch heritage and I've always dreamed of going there. Since time and money are no issue, I would go all over Europe and end up in Norway & Switzerland. I had a pin-pal from Norway , from the 3rd grade clear until I was married, and I've always wanted to go to Norway

2. Who would you say has had the greatest influence on your life and why? Absolutely my father. I adored him and never wanted to disappoint him. He taught me integrity, honesty, to know who I was and that I could do anything I set my mind to.

3. If you had to be transported back in time which would you choose and why? Victorian Era, Pioneer days, or Bible times? This one was a hard one for me because I have always been so grateful to be born in the time period I have been because I believe we are the generation that will see the Lord return. I guess if I have to pick another it would be Bible times.

4. Who is your favorite woman in the Bible and why? Another very hard one because I'd never thought about that. I have often wondered how it must have been for Mary to know the child she was raising was the Son of God. I marvel at the verse "But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19

5. What is one of the funniest things that has ever happened to you? It's funny now, but wasn't so funny at the time......my forever friend, Joan, and I getting locked in the Santa Fe Art Museum in the 5th grade. I had call my father and tell me and he had to call the Art Director to come down and get us out.

Your turn. Can I "Interview You"?

FIVE REASONS FOR LOVING CHRISTMAS - 2 Awards

I got this lovely award from my dear friend, Ginger. This one means a whole lot to me because Ginger does not usually participate in Awards and for her to pass this one on to me makes it really special.

Along with the award comes a Meme to list my 5 reasons for loving Christmas and I am to pass the award and Meme on to 5 other blogging friends. EASY!!!

1. My number one reason for loving Christmas is because it is a double blessing to me, because it's my BIRTHDAY, too. How blessed I have been to share my birthday for, yes it will be, 71 years with the day we commemorate the birth of our Lord.

2. I love Christmas because it is still the one time a year, in our country, that there are still a lot of us that CELEBRATE, not Santa Claus, but JESUS

3. I love Christmas because if The Son Of God had not left the glories of Heaven and come to this earth, in human flesh, as a Virgin Born Baby I would still be lost in my sins.

4. I love Christmas because it is a time of Family Celebration and I love and adore the family God has blessed me with.

5. I love Christmas because it is a special time of letting Friends know how very much they mean to us and I am blessed to have the greatest, real life, and blog friends in the world.

Now for the difficult part....selecting five people to pass this award and meme on to.

1. Brenda

2. Saija

3. Jennifer

4. Leigh Ann

5. Barbara

********************************************************

I received this lovely Butterfly Award from Sioux with these sweet words: Susan is a good Christian woman who has encouraged me, through her blog, in my prayer life. Thanks, Susan! Thank you so much Sioux that is the highest compliment you could ever give me and I am very touched by it.

Now I will pass it on to 10 bloggers. Here are the rules :1. Put the logo on your blog.2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.3. Nominate 10 other blogs.4. Add links to their blogs.5. Leave a message on the blogs of your nominees.6. Give a reason why you consider their blogs cool

I am going to not only list 10 other blogs but am passing this one to all those who are Prayer Warriors with me on Hearts In One Accord (in the order they joined !!!):

Michelle - Jennifer - Diana - Dawn (private blog) - Annie - Rhonda - Pam - Leigh Ann - Mickey (my dear sweet husband of 50 years - he has no blog but know about each and everyone of you prayer warriors!) - Shirley - Sue Sioux - Ginger - Retha (our first International Warrior) - Amy (A friend of Leigh Ann's who has a private blog) - Nancy

These 21 Prayer Warriors join me as we pray daily for The Body Of Christ - Our Local Church Assembly - Our Nation - Our Community and special prayer needs that are posted for prayer. You 21 bless me......but the important thing......I know you bless the heart of our Father God: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" Hebrews 4:16

WE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO JOIN US IN THIS!!!!!!!

MEME - 6 Random Things About Me

I have been tagged by Tiffany of Southern Sass to do the 6 Random Things About Me ..meme.

Here are the rulz of the game...1. Link to the person who ‘tagged’ you!2. Post the rules on your blog!3. List 6 random facts about yourself!4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post!5. Let each person know they have been tagged by commenting on their blog!6. Let the tagger know the entry is posted on your blog!

I have posted so many things about myself it is going to be hard to find 6 more random things about me but I'll try.

1. When I was growing up in Santa Fe, NM it was about 85% hispanic. I was surrounded by the Spanish language and had every opportunity to learn and even took a class in school and yet never learned to speak Spanish. Mickey & I took a Spanish class at the Church we attended in 2003 and I really studied and worked at it but could not retain it. This is one of the regrets of my life.

2. I am one who takes very little medicine and therefore the slightest bit makes me talk really silly. When my first child was born I had a very long labor, over 30 hours, and by the time she finally came I was completely "out" from the gas they gave me. Consequently in rolling me from the delivery table, to the cart, to the bed I was sort of tangled in the sheets. Upon coming to in my room one of the first things I said was, "I feel like a mummy not a mommy!" Remember, I am just 12 days shy of being 17 years old!!!

3. I have lived in 4 states NM, CA, CO, OK and have been blessed to travel in all 50 states. The order of living in these 4 states has been: NM, CA, NM, CA, CO, OK, NM, OK.

4. Oklahoma has a very large Indian population and is home to the 7 civilized tribes. When we first moved here in 1964 the schools would have the children fill out a report whether they had any Indian blood in them. For about 3 years straight our young daughters, who were 9 & 8 when we moved here, would come home saying, "Are you SURE we don't have any Indian blood in us?". They felt slighted that they didn't.

5. I have never been concerned about growing older. I am sure this is because of having such a wonderful, energetic father who was 52 years old when I was born. I think growing older is an honor and something that should be done gracefully and without shame or regret. I think our society has been sold a bill of goods, mostly by the advertising industry, that aging is something to be dreaded or denied. I try to disspell this notion every chance I get. Like here!!!!! Even the Bible says " "The hoary (gray) head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness." Proverbs 16:31

6. I have worshiped and been active in 9 different "denominations" over my lifetime: Disciples of Chirst, Southern Baptist, Independant Baptist, Bible Church, Vineyard Fellowship, 3 Non-denominational- Oasis of Love, Church on the way, Our Finest Hour and now attend Assembly of God. I am thankful God has seen fit to do this in my life because it has given me a picture of the True Church which is made up of believers of ALL because it has nothing to do with the church we attend, or the denomination, but our relationship with the Head of the Church, Our Savior and Lord, Jesus.

Here are my 6 choices to participate: Leeanne, Bob, Groovy, Bev, Lisa, Sue. Please leave me a comment and let me know when and if you participate.

ALL ABOUT ME

My friend Meredith did this one some time ago and it looked interesting and throught provoking to me.

I am - a Child of God, a wife, a mother of 4, a grandmother of 3, a friend and a blogger.

I want - to become all that God wants me to be.

I have - a remarkable family that has true honesty and openness.

I wish - everyone could know and love my Jesus like I do.

I hate - that satan has blinded the eyes of so many.

I miss - my parents, my sister, and my dear friend, Beverly, who are all waiting for me in Heaven

I fear - missing the mark of His high calling.

I feel - very deeply and show my feelings.

I hear - what people are usually saying in their hearts and not necessarily their words.

I smell - the wonderful fragrance of flowers, and good food cooking.

I crave - ice cream and REAL Mexican food

I search - for truth above all things.

I wonder - what Heaven will truly look and be like.

I love - The Word, my Lord, my husband, my sons & daughters, my grandkids, my church, my Pastor and my friends.

I dance - to some church songs.

I sing - chorus and David Ingles music.

I cry - at the drop of a hat and often. I find it hard not to cry when I pray.

I don't always - get as much accomplished as I want to.

I wish - I had enough money to truly help people when God puts it on my heart.

I fight - for the truth and what is right and fair.

I write - because I love it and have to.

I never - get tired of learning and knowing about people.

I listen - very well and truly HEAR what people are saying.

I need - just what I have, a loving husband and family.

I am happy - most all the time.

If any of you decide to do this meme please drop me a comment and let me know so I can come and read it.

A SURPRISE PACKAGE & 5 Questions Meme

Look what arrived in my mail box yesterday from Jennifer at Dust Bunny Hostage. It is an old Salvation Army Song Book that was dedicated in the memory of a Major Percy Holden by his wife on May 27, 1945. It contains the words to 730 songs and they are listed under categories.

It arrived along with this beautiful hand made note card. Thank you Jennifer I was totally surprised and very pleased. The book will be placed on my bookshelf next to the old small books I inherited from my father that I showed recently on Show & Tell.

I was tagged by Brenda, of It's All Good, for the following Meme. I think I did this one before but it's been months so I'll do it again!

Let's see...rules first.

1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What I was doing 10 years ago:

I had just returned to work from a 6 month leave of absence where we took a trip in our RV to Alaska and we had just purchased our current home in Coweta.

Five things on my to-do list today:

1. Have bible study and prayer time with my husband when he gets up.
2. Post this meme and blog
3. Have coffee and a time of sharing with my son, David, around 9:30 when he comes over.
4. Try and select new wallpaper for my kitchen
5. Do ironing.

Snacks I enjoy:
1. Home made bread or rolls
2. Cookies
3. Potato Chips
4. Ice cream floats
5. Yogart

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Get a location for our 24 hour House of Prayer
2. Give to build the facility for Freedom House - a woman's ministry of our church
3. Set up an account for my 4 children and 3 grandchildren where they could use the interest but could not touch the principle and it had to be passed down to their heirs with the same stipulation.
4. Travel to Israel, Switzerland, Holland and all over.
5. Buy another house that had a smaller yard so my husband wouldn't have so much yard work to do........and then hire out the yard work that was necessary there......and get someone to come in once a week and clean house.

Five of my bad habits:
1. Snacking too much.
2. Lack of steady exercise regimen.
3. Back seat driving.
4. Not liking to make telephone calls.
5. Not checking on my neighbors more.

Five places I have lived:
1. Santa Fe, NM --born and raised
2. Albuquerque, NM - first years of our marriage
3. Denver, CO - for just a few years
4. Tulsa, OK and now Coweta, OK - since 1964.

Five jobs I've had:
1. Secretary
2. Realtor
3. Bookkeeper
4. Craft store operator
5. Staff Accountant at a CPA firm which I retired from.

Five people I want to know more about (a nice way of saying TAG!):

I choose not to tag anyone but invited those who wish to participate to do so. Be sure and leave me a comment and let me know so I can read yours.
