WE BETTER BE CONCERNED

As you know, if you follow my blog, my husband was in 3 different hospitals in 3 different states, within a period of 6 days.

We have NOTHING but praise for the facilities, care, treatment, staff, equipment, knowledge, everything that was given to us in our time of need.

Compare this to one of my blog friends, living in a different country, who's husband had a stroke on Sunday.

A) After rushing him to the hospital they waited 8 hours before he was seen by a Doctor!!

B) He was sent home after 2 days, even though they have not pin-pointed what is causing the problem because they had no beds!!

I contacted her and asked if I could use this private information in a post and received this answer.

C) "You are most welcome to use that information in my posts and please add if you like that he had a bed in four different rooms two rooms were ladies wards and the older ladies in their 70plus had him in the ward and did not like it for about 5 hours. The men look like they get moved from this spot to that all their stay in Hospital. We have private medical benefits and still it has not helped."

4 different beds - 2 of which were ladies wards - moved after 5 hours !!

Now I am telling you......I would have been frantic had these things happened to us. Especially, waiting 8 hours for help to a very serious, life threatening, situation.

Signs of the times??????

I want so badly to get off the political agenda and posts......but I'm telling you.....with Health Care being on the top burner for both Obama & Hillary we better be vigilant in fighting heath care "reform" that puts us under even a partially socialized medicine because this is the story we will be telling here. I remember in 2000 when we were touring Canada the Doctors in New Brunswick were on STRIKE!!!!

Surely this is not what we want for this country .

MICKEY UPDATE

We made the 130 mile trip back to Oklahoma City VA on October 31st for Mickey's

follow-up on his double bi-pass heart surgery. We left the house around 6 a.m. and were there by 8:30. First to the lab for blood work, then to EKG , and then for an x-ray of the heart. We also had an appointment with the Heart Rehab person who we were suppose to see before he was ever released from the hospital but since he was discharged on Columbus Day which was a holiday we didn't get it. We were happy to learn that the care and things we had been doing the past 3 weeks were correct :o) !!!After these tests were done he had a 10:30 appointment with the Heart surgeon.

Here he is with the adorable PCA, Bethany, who was the first person to talk to us on our first visit, back on September 12th, about having the surgery and was the person today who read all the reports and examined him.

Everything was perfect!!! The picture of his heart is perfect, his EKG read just as they wanted it to, his lungs are clear & healthy, and his blood work was all good, except the kidney was a little high but nothing that concerned them.
This isn't a very good picture, due to the sun glare, but this shows him leaving with his newly repaired heart and a clean bill of health. HALLELUJAH

Yesterday he had an appointment with his Primary Care Physician here in Tulsa. Another GOOD report. All is well. The only thing now is for the healing to continue and for him to build back his strength.

This is Mickey as we began his first outside walk. We were to start walking at 5 minutes a day and gradually add to it each day until he is walking at least 30 minutes. Yesterday we walked 14 minutes. We are adding a minute or 2 a day. The weather here has been delightful and making it very easy for us. As it gets too cold we will begin going to Wal-M*mart to walk.

Thanks again to all who prayed for us, and especially with us, during this path. We are only 2 days shy of it being one month since his surgery.

JESUS is our healer...and He uses Doctors and He supplied us with the very best!

THE CROSS WALK

We complain about the cross we bear, but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

The people in the Old Testament wanted a King, and would not listen to God, so God gave them their King. Soloman wrote, "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall b done; and there is no new thing under the sun". Ecclesiastes 1:9

Get out of debt...start simplifying your life...live a frugal life style...and start now.

Rely on and trust God and keep your eyes on JESUS!!!

Darian, I am not a prophet and I did not make any prophesy. My call was for God's people to pray. Now that the election is over my call is still for God's people to pray daily for Our Country, Our President, Our Vice President, and The Church.

GO VOTE

This is a great country! To keep it that way,

We each have a role and a part we must play.

With different opinions, we won't all agree,

Who to elect, but thank God we are free!

So Make up your mind and go vote.

Know what you believe and who you support.

And who are the judges you want on the court.

Ask the hard questions, then you must decide,

The person you choose. Let your heart be your guide.

Just remember you have to go vote.

The party's important. Know where you stand.

But choosing a leader is more than a brand.

One nation, united. "In God we trust".

He answers our prayers, but remember you must,

RUSH: Kurt in Pittsburgh, hello, sir. Nice to have you on the EIB Network, and how about the Steelers defense?
CALLER: How about those Steelers, huh?
RUSH: How about that?
CALLER: Hey, listen, Rush, longtime listener, first-time caller, one of those Bible, family, gun clingers from western Pennsylvania.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: And I wanted to share a story with you. A week ago last Saturday we went to the Palin-McCain rally in Washington, Pennsylvania, was the day after he announced her, and we have a five-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, and we made a sign that said: "We Love Kids with Down Syndrome." So when they pulled in in their bus the sign did catch their, McCain and Palin and the rest of their family, it caught their eye, we could tell, they gave us a thumbs-up from the bus, so we were all excited just by that --
RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. Who gave you the thumbs up, McCain and Palin?

CALLER: McCain, Palin, Cindy McCain, we could see them from the bus. We were in a position where we had eye contact with them --

RUSH: Oh, cool!

CALLER: My wife was holding our daughter.
RUSH: Very, very, very cool.

CALLER: It was really cool, Rush. I was like, "Wow, that's awesome," because I love Governor Palin and so I thought that's really neat. So then we moved around as the bus was getting ready to pull out, we kind of positioned ourselves so we could just wave them on and a Secret Service agent came up to us and said, "Hey, can you come with us?" I was like, "Do we have a choice?"

RUSH: (laughing) You shouldn't have worried. It's not the Clinton administration.

CALLER: Right. So we accompanied them up the hill, we went right to the bus, where it was, and Governor Palin, Senator McCain, Cindy, Todd Palin, they're all standing there. We're in this inner circle with just us and them, and the Secret Service agent, and they came right up to us and thanked us for coming out, said they loved our sign, and Governor Palin immediately said, "May I hold your daughter?" and our daughter Chloe, who's five, went right to her, and I have some pictures I'd love to send you maybe when I'm done here, but Governor Palin was hugging Chloe, and then her little daughter brought their baby Trig who has Down syndrome from the bus, he was napping, and Chloe went right over and kissed him on the cheek, and my son Nolan who's nine, he thanked her.
RUSH: This is amazing.

CALLER: I will send you all the stuff, Senator McCain was talking to my son, and we thanked him for his service, and he asked my son if he wanted to see the bus, and we were hanging out and it was very surreal. I felt like we could have had a pizza and a beer with them, they were so warm.

RUSH: You know what? I want to put you on hold. I want Snerdley to give you our super-secret, known-only-to-three-people here, e-mail address.

CALLER: I will send you everything, Rush.

RUSH: And then could you send us these pictures? Would you mind if we put them on the website?

CALLER: I would be honored, and my main thing is they are warm, kind, genuine people, and they represent the best of this country.
RUSH: That's right. And when you send these pictures, make sure you identify them. I mean, we'll know Palin and McCain, of course. Identify yourselves.

CALLER: I will, I will identify everybody in the picture, Rush, and God bless you for being a beacon of hope and truth in this country.

RUSH: Oh, no, no. It's nothing, it's nothing. You're doing the Lord's work.

CALLER: Well, we're very blessed and I want people to know what a blessing it is to have a child with Down syndrome. These kids, they're angels.

RUSH: That's the thing. There's always good to be found in everything that happens. It may be a while before it reveals itself.

CALLER: Absolutely. Right, and when she hugged my daughter I said, here's the difference, this candidate embraces life and all its limitless possibilities.

RUSH: All right.

CALLER: That's what she is.

RUSH: Terrific, okay, I gotta run here, but I'm going to put you on hold.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush.

RUSH: Thank you, Kurt. I really appreciate it.

MY VOTE - MY VOICE - MY CHOICE FOR INTEGRITY

As I prepare to vote for the next President of our great country on Tuesday, November 4th, I have based my choice on the principles found in the Bible.

I find McCain to be a man of integrity, honor & truth.

A man I feel not only can, but will, lead our country back to the moral standards so needed to day.

'The Pledge of Allegiance'

As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 4o men to a room.

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POW's, 10,000 miles from home.

One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian.

Mike came from a small town near Selma, Alabama. He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School. Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed.

As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing.

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed on the inside of his shirt.

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell, it was indeed the most important and meaningful event.

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside and removed it.

That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.

The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept, four naked, light bulbs hung in each corner of the room

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American Flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knewhow important it was to us to be able to pledge our allegiance to our flag and country.

So the next time you say the 'Pledge of Allegiance', you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world.
