May we stand firm in defending our Rights that have been bestowed on us, not only in our National Constitution but in the Preamble of each and every one of our 50 states. These stood the firm test of time from 1776 to 1959 - 183 years. Surely, we must not cave in now.

My apologies to my intenational readers. I know that many other areas of the world are also facing many of the same issues we are here in America. I pray God leads you to stand firm to His word also.

Addendum: After posting the above my dear friend, Pea, from Sudbury, Canada left this comment which I wanted to add here to be a permanent part of this:

The Preamble to the Canadian Constitution.......Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.

Thanks Pea!!!!!

This is the Preamble to the Canadian Constitution...

"Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law".

As you say, dear Susan, we must fight to maintain our rights. xoxo

Susan - this was very interesting. It shows how far we have fallen as a country.

I haven't read these before. God, liberty, gratitude are all common threads that run through most of these. How interesting. I loved the Texas one. It made me proud.

To dream of the days when it was written and people took it seriously.

how interesting. it's obvious that time has changed the politics of our country, but it can't change the deep, unshakable faith of many of it's citizens.

thanks for sharing.

Once again, it's time for our people to humble themselves and pray!

This is amazing! Who would have ever thought. At least we can find some comfort in how it used to be. I cannot believe that the Preamble to my state (new Jersey) reads that way considering how we think as a state in this day. unbelievable.

Your words of exhortation are well taken. Amen.

This was a neat post, Susan! We as Christians need to read our state preamble more often, to remind us of what our forefather's fought for and what WE need to actively retain!

I enjoyed getting caught up on your posts! You have been busy! My dad tried to raise bees a couple of years ago, but all of his bees disappeared. He was pretty disappointed!

I am, with my regret going to have to step down from Hearts in One Accord. I have gone back to work part time, and we also started a very active prayer chain in our Church SS class. It has grown and we have many requests each day. I strongly believe in prayer, but am not able to honor my commitment of praying during my alloted time slot of Hearts.... My time lately, has been spent praying for the needs on our local prayer chain at church. I know your desire was to have continous 24 hour prayer, and I don't want to be the one the break that cycle. I pray that the Lord bless each one of you that remain in Hearts in One Accord. I do hope you will still visit my blog. I'm not able to devote as much attention to it either, but I do appreciate your's and my other fellow blogger's friendships!

Yep...Texas...you were required to recite this in Texas History class back in school. The other states I have never had a motivation to look up or read. Interesting.

It makes me furious the way the left is rewriting history.
I got an email from a friend today that I thought was cute. It was said "A black man will become president when pigs fly."
Then the next line was "swine flu."
Have a wonderful weekend.

I got this emial also. Isn't it amazing how far we've come. The evidence of our heritage is everywhere, in fact its so abundant that ignoring it expends a lot of energy.

Hmmm. I think that neither our governor nor our legislature have ever read that...
