ALL TRIPS ARE NOT EQUAL

And this one certainly wasn't. Last Saturday we made the 278 mile drive to Kansas City to finally see first hand what The In*ternatio*nal Ho*use of Pr*ayer was all about.

We have just arrived and got this shot of Mickey as we located Vanessa & her daughter, Savannah. Vanessa is the one who had the vision for an I*H*O*P in our little city of Coweta and is spending a month here in Kansas City in training.

Here is Vanessa & her husband Jeff with Savannah as we were eating in the Sandwich Shop. If you enlarge the picture you can see the shirt Savannah has on.....it shows a child in a wheel chair, a child praying for the child in the wheel chair, and the child who was in the wheel chair walking and pushing the wheel chair!!

I have to share with you about Savannah. She is 6 years old and she has been raised by a mother who loves prayer and prays a lot and shares with Savannah about prayer. Well Saturday night, after services, we got coffee and were sitting and visiting on some outside tables they have set up in an area on the sidewalk. A one point we were talking about an issue and Savannah said, "Let's just pray about that right now!" and this little 6 year old child began praying like you wouldn't believe. Suddenly a hush fell on the people milling about and sitting at other tables as they began to listen to this child pray. It was an unbelievable moment that put goose bumps on me. I thought of the scripture "A little child shall lead them". Praise God......children like this are going to change things and people.



We attended services Saturday evening & Sunday morning before returning to Coweta Sunday afternoon. We were blessed to hear Mike Bi*ckle both services. He had been overseas and had just returned from Egypt.

I hadn't posted about it until now because I had to have time to try and absorb and process what I saw & felt to even try and put it into words. I still can't really do that but wanted to post this before too much more time passed.

I must tell you, it is an awesome thing to see a place where prayer has been going on continuously for 24/7 for 8 years!!!! The worship and teaching were wonderful, but we've been to a lot of meetings where the worship and teaching were wonderful. I think what impressed us the most was the dedication we saw in the people there...all ages, all shapes and sizes, from every background......truly a snapshot of The Body of Christ that has become such a burning reality in my heart and Spirit the past number of years.

I truly feel God is sending out a clarion call to the entire WORLD to pray. I feel our country and our world are in the state they are currently in because we truly do not 1) pray, 2) know how to pray, and 3) most pastors and churches are not teaching and calling their flock to pray. Just stop and think when the last time was you heard a message about praying. Just stop and consider how much time you spend praying. Do you pray daily? Only at meals? How much time do you spend praying? Do you spend all your prayer time just praying for yourself, your family and your loved ones?

Do you flippantly say, "I'll pray for you." and never think about it again. Hard questions I know.........but they truly show the condition we as Christians are in.

God wants us to truly fall in love with Him. We want to spend time with someone we truly love. Talking things over, telling Him how much we love Him, just being in His presence and listening to what He wants to tell us. Most of all God looks at our hearts and wants to show each of us our own heart.

My friend, and fellow pray-er, Ginger has written a wonderful, powerful post on prayer here. I hope you will read it.

I'm just so excited with what I see God doing around this entire world. He is calling people to pray, to be part of preparing the Bride of Christ (The Church) for His soon return.

These are a couple of shots of the lovely place and grounds we stayed. I wish we could have stayed a week and absorbed so much more of the flavor of I*H*O*P, but I'm glad we were finally able to see and experience it first hand for ourselves.

HEARTS IN 1 ACCORD 24/7

When ever God calls us to a task and we are obedient you might as well pick up your sword (The Word of God) and get ready for the onslaught of the devil. But we are to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." I Peter 5:8

I knew when God called me to begin this 24/7 Prayer Group among the bloggers He would call and add to this group. I also knew satan would be doing anything and everything he could to try and stop it. But "Yea are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, that he that is in the world" I John 4:4.

For the first time since I began using the internet in the 1990's I was without internet service for 3 days!!!!!! That is why I have not posted in days and no one has heard from me. I finally got back on-line this evening and am frantically trying to do a little catching up on contacting people and posting this. I am also going to have knee surgery tomorrow morning at 11:15. I ask for your prayers in this regard. I do not know how many days I will be laid up with this before I will be able to sit at the computer desk. Rest assured I will be chomping at the bit to be back here!!

The other wonderful news I have to report is that we had our Remnant Prayer group at our home last Saturday night, May 3rd. and it was AWESOME!!! We began at 7 and ended at 11:30!!! We had 12 people, from 3 different communities and 3 different churches. I am just awe struck with what God is doing in our little town of Coweta and all over the world. HE is calling His people, His Church, His Body, His Bride to pray!!!!! Then Sunday morning at church, those of us who go to the prayer room for prayer during the Sunday School hour had just a marvelous time of prayer for 45 minutes. It is all so exciting to me!!!! I have longed to see this day for many years.

Our leader of the Remnant Prayer group, Vanessa, left Monday for a month internship at The Kansas City International House of Prayer and we have already had a wonderful report from her.......and she just got there.

I know God is moving all over our nation and the world and I would love for you to leave me a comment telling me how God is moving in your life and your area. Let's broadcast the Good News of what Our Lord and Savior is doing!!!!

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER & PRAYER GROUP

Today is the National Day of Prayer. I trust many of you participated in this. We will be going to our church, Coweta Assembly of God, tonight at 7:00 for the city wide services that are being held there for Coweta.



I doubt that many of you know this, but the current National Day of Prayer was signed into being in 1952 under President Truman. The driving force behind the movement for this was Vonette Bright, wife of the late Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. Bill Bright was born right here in Coweta!!!! We are very proud of that fact.



I am re posting below the part of my yesterdays post that was about a 24/7 Prayer group that I am starting here in blogland. As of writing this there are 5 of us that have committed to this. There are several others who are praying about it. I thought because it was at the bottom of yesterdays post that maybe some of you overlooked it.



How ever many God has chosen for this is what we will start with. If it is just the current 5 that's okay because Zac. 4:10 states: "For who hath despised the day of small things?" & Jesus changed the world with 12 disciples.



In connection with what God is doing here in Coweta, He has put it on my heart to start a 24/7 (24 hours 7 days a week) Prayer group here on blogland. I know that a great many of you who read my blog are prayer's.


The purpose of this post is to see how many of you would be interested in becoming involved with this and make a commitment toward doing it? I would wish that people would commit for a 1/2 hour or hour time slot, but will accept those who feel they can only give 15 minutes. I know that we are spread out through many different parts of the world, and many different time zones. We will use the international time zone to fill all the spots. Once we get it set up I will start a new blog consisting of just these prayers.


I will go into more detail after I find out how many of you wish to participate. Please let me know when you comment if you are interested. If your e-mail address is not on your blog please also leave that for me so I can contact you directly and privately.


The Lord had put this on my heart some time ago, but with going on our trip and being out of pocket I knew I needed to wait until I could devote my undivided attention to what God was calling me to do. I find it not at all unusual that I am posting this 1 day before our National Day of Prayer, on May 1st!!!! God's plans and orchestration is so marvelous and beyond our understanding.


To sum this all up: First, and most importantly PRAY about this. Then: 1)If you are a prayer and 2) interested in joining in with this 24/7 prayer group and 3) are willing to commit to a set time each and every day or night to pray for 15, 30 or 60 minutes, 4) please let me know by leaving me a comment to that effect & 5) please be sure I have your e-mail address.
Father God I ask you to call forth the Intercessory Prayer Partners that YOU have chosen for this calling and purpose, for this particulate time and group. In my Saviors precious, precious name I pray. Amen

PRAYER

Do you sometimes just get so excited about what God is doing? I do!!!!

I posted last September 17 here about our town.Part of that was about the Fall Festival where several churches went together and had a 24/7 Prayer Tent from Thursday at 6 p.m. through Sunday at 6 p.m. The event covered 72 hours and was a huge success. Out of this endeavor two young couples from our church took up the cause and have been working hard to establish a strong group of people who love to pray and are willing to pray. There names are Vanessa & Jeff, and Nate & Angie. You'll be hearing more about them in the future.

In January of this year Mickey & I were invited to join this group and I have posted a little about it and alluded to it several times. The goal of this group is to establish a 24/7 House of Prayer here in our City of Coweta.

This is a picture of 2 spaces in a shopping center that has been offered to our group at a very reasonable rate. There are 2 different spaces. The space to the left, where you can see the "For Rent" sign in the window, is the smaller of the 2 and will be used for the children of the adults who are in the prayer room itself. . The space behind the pole between the 2 light fixtures is a very large space. Another church had actually been meeting in this space for several years. The utilities have already been turned on in the smaller space but there is some problem with the wiring that has to be corrected, by the landlord, before utilities can be turned on in the large space.

This is not a project of our Church, although many of the people involved are from our church. It is a project for all the churches to be involved with and our entire city.

One gentleman donated money for the 1st months rent plus some extra. People are beginning to pledge and give on a monthly basis. One company has given over $10,000 of supplies for sound proofing, etc. So God is moving and opening the doors.

The name of our group is Remnant House of Prayer and Vanessa is going to spend next month in Kansas City at The Internatiional House of Prayer for further training.

Last Friday night we held the monthly prayer meeting at our church. We have been holding them in various homes of the participants. Our Pastor Gary, plus several other Pastors from different churches, were in attendance. It was a mighty time of prayer, praise and worship. It was such a privilege to get to pray over our Pastor and the other Pastors. You know, they are always giving out and need to be on the receiving end, too. I said to Mickey as we left "There was real breakthrough there tonight." Sunday mornings Praise & Worship was evidence of that as it was absolutely awesome and everyone was speaking about it. Not just us of the prayer group who "knew" why!!!!!

THIS & THAT: David, Weather, House of Prayer

Several of you have asked me how David is doing. I am glad to report David is doing very well!!! His job is going super and he just recently volunteered to work a 4 to midnight shift for 6 months. He loves it and he gets a 10% pay bonus for doing so. That is one of the reasons he agreed to take it.

Those hours work much better for him, as he's always been a night owl. What we love about it is that he has started coming over every morning to see his father before he leaves for work at 9:30 and then he and I sit and talk for an hour to an hour and 1/2 (sometimes 2!!!). One of the reasons my blogging has been a little scarce lately :o) David and I love to talk: about the Bible, about his childhood, about his upbringing, about psychology, about woman and on and on. He has an amazing IQ and I am always astonished that he is my son!!! He told me this morning he was thinking about trying to get back to blogging and I hope he will because he really has so much to give and to share. I've said it before, and I'll say it again........God has a great plan for my son. He ran from it for years and it is the joy of my heart to sit and watch God working in his life and seeing him transforming before my eyes. Actually, transforming is not the correct word........what we are seeing is the true, real David coming back to life. Sort of like the dry bones in Ezekiel.

RAIN we have had rain, rain and more rain. Two days last week on Wednesday & Thursday we had 5" each day. A total of 10". On Thursday the flooding was so bad that Highway 51, which runs through Coweta, was shut down at both ends. I had to pick my grandson up from school in Tulsa that day and I barely made it through before they closed the highway. Then Tuesday night we had 4" of rain, and tornado warnings and watches all night. Needless to say we got little sleep. Then last night another 5+" of rain but luckily no tornado watches in our immediate area. They actually closed ALL the schools in our area today because of the flooding. We are high enough we don't get flooded but we sure have soggy front and back yards. Now today we are having very high winds blowing and more bad weather for the remainder of the week.

"I" truthfully think the extreme weather we are having, literally around the world, has much to do with what God is doing and preparing to do. I am viewing and seeing all the physical rain that we are having as a token of the Lord pouring out His Spirit as prophesied as the Later Rains.

In conjunction with the physical rain we are having wonderful things moving and happening in the establishing of the 24 hour Remnant House of Prayer that we are involved with!!!! I will write a lot about this at a little later date......just let me say, "God is up to something" and we are so excited. God is so good and I love Him SOOOO.
