A VIDEO & MUST READS in my opinion!!!

Even though I am an avid reader I have only recommended 3 books in the 2 years & 4 months I have been blogging. The first was Crash Point, the second, The Shack, and on February 15h The Last Jihad, by Joel Rosenberg.

We just finished reading the 5th of Joel's fiction series: The Last Jihad, The Last Days, The Ezekiel Option, The Copper Scroll and Dead Heat. We are currently reading his first non-fiction book: Epicenter.

These books are absolutely MUST reads for anyone who wants to stay current with what is going on in our world from both a political & Biblical view.

The Word tells us to have "eyes to see & ears to hear" and repeatedly warns us of those who "seeing, see not, and hearing, hear not".

If you cannot see and hear that our world is changing, literally by the day and hour, then I beg of you to open your eyes and your ears to what God is telling us.

My constant prayer is that each and every one of you know Jesus as your Savior & Lord. If you do not please don't wait another minute to 1)believe with your heart that Jesus is truly the Son of God, 2) confess to God that you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you, 3) invite Jesus to come into your heart 4) acknowledge that He has died for your sins & that God raised Him the dead to give you eternal life, then 5)confess Him with your mouth and you shall be saved. Salvation is a free gift from God. There is NOTHING we can do to earn it. But you must believe it and accept it to posses it.

A special thanks to my dear friend Ginger for forwarding me the video.

A WINNER AGAIN

My daughter, Suzette, always says. "Good things come in 3's." and this is surely true of this lovely give-away that I just won.

Tammy, of Country Girl At Home, had a drawing to celebrate her 200th post on May 13th and my name was drawn on May 15th.

Friday, while I was burning in the sun having my garage sale, this huge package arrived!!! How exciting.

(Click picture to enlarge)

A distressed, black colonial 16" x 12" shelf built by her husband, Jason. I love it and have the perfect place for it. I'll show you when we get it hung!!!!

A stitch, tea stained "Believe" primitive art piece 11 1/2' x 12" in a lovely distressed frame and an 8" tall pineapple dish.

Such a lovely give away, Tammy. I'm so glad Joy picked my name :o)

If you haven't already met Tammy please drop by and visit her blog. She & her husband are always doing neat things around their home. Right now they are in the midst of a bathroom makeover that we are all eagerly waiting to see.

ABUNDANCE

On May 13th I posted about Mickey's strawberry patch and the small handful of ripe berries we had picked here.

Well, 10 days later, here is what we harvested Saturday.

Here is my ever faithful ice cream bucket that I use for everything with the freshly picked strawberries.

The large bowl of washed and pitted berries.

Best of all.... my bowl of fresh sliced berries with sugar and cream that was my Sunday breakfast. Yum!!!!

As if that wasn't enough......here is fresh picked spinach, green onions, and radishes from Mickey's labors. I took this picture just before making a wonderful salad along with my home made Vinaigrette dressing. A lovely addition to our Sunday lunch of meatloaf, baked potato, cream corn and toasted garlic bread.

Abundance indeed!!!! Webster's "great plenty" and "more than enough".

Please join in reading about my garage sale on Hands & Hearts For HIM.

WONDERFUL QUOTES

BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER

By Maya Angelou

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ

That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say...'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'

I'm whispering 'I am lost, Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say...'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride,

I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say...'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong,

I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success

I'm admitting I have failed, and need God to clean my mess.

When I say...'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,

My flaws are far to visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say...'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...

I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say...'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou.

I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

TODAY IS BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTERS DAY

I received this from a Beautiful Christian Sister

I'm supposed to send this to BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.

That's why I've placed it here!!!

People May Not Remember exactly what you did, or what you said,

~BUT ~ THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE

THEM FEEL

My father always and consistently told me,

'Beauty is as Beauty does'

I'm God confident'

ANOTHER BLESSING

This lovely box of goodies was awaiting me Monday afternoon when I returned home from my Woman's Bible Study.

It has come ALL the way from Alberta, Canada and a blog friend, Crystal. Crystal celebrated her 900th post (!!!!!!) recently and I was fortunate to be the very lucky winning name that was drawn.

I couldn't believe all the niceities Crystal had sent me: A Book "I'm dreaming of some White Chocolate" - 4 lovely rubber stamps - a beautiful blueish stamp pad - a package of 3 beautiful note cards - 2 sheets of linen stickers - a CD minibooklet - a little list pad tied with a pretty bow - Nestle Noir Dark Chocolate - and a lovely notebook with a sweet personal note from Crystal.

Thank you Crystal. All such a delight and will be put to very good use.

If you do not know Crystal I invite you to visit her blog, Be The Change You Want To See. Crystal will delight you with all her lovely scrapbooking, adventures with her grandbabies, and wonderful travels.

I LOVE SUNDAY

We begin our Sunday with our own private Bible reading and prayer time. Don't know if I've mentioned it or not, but we are currently reading the New Testament in The Narrated Bible in Chronological Order (NIV) I bought Mickey for his birthday last November. It is very interesting.

We had a guest Missionary speaker in both the a.m. & p.m. Church services today. Both services were wonderful and the worship in the evening was awesome. Our dear, wonderful Pastor and his wife are on a MUCH needed two week vacation.

I had put potato's and chicken breasts in the oven on time cook and it was so nice to come in, add some green beans, cottage cheese, and toast a couple of sliced french bread and have a yummy lunch all ready.
Mid-afternoon we listened to tape 2 of a 4 tape series on The Tabernacle. This series is really good.
After church we went to Wal*lywo*rld. They had advertised a 5' folding table for $37 (while supply lasts) and the sale started Sunday. Since our family dinner celebrations are growing we needed another table (we have outgrown the dining table and card table). They did not have the table. In fact, the manager of that department said they did not ship our Co*we*ta store ANY of those tables. That the "bigger" stores get things like that. They had a 6' folding table but it was $54. She was pointing that out to us and we said we'd seen it but weren't willing to go that high on the price. Mickey said, "How about letting us have this one for the $37 since you didn't get any?" He was just joking with her but she said, "I can sell you this table for the $37 sales price if you promise to come back and shop here some more." We laughed and said, "We are in here on a weekly, and sometimes daily basis." So we were blessed to acquire the 6' folding table for $37. WOW -- our God amazes us with His blessings. Praise God!!!
Then we went to McD's (just across the street) for coffee & apple pie (Mickey) & a hot fudge sundae (me!). Taking our order was a young man that we use to go to church with as a young kid 10 years ago. It was nice seeing him, and catching up a little on his parents & siblings. When we walk into the dining area we see our dear friend, that I go to BOTH Bible studies a week with, Wantha Ann and her daughter, son-in-law, and 3 grandchildren. We have a wonderful time visiting with them. Marty, who is the manager of the Bl*ue Be*ll ice cream plant, teases me about being a traitor with my ice cream sundae!!!!
Yes, I love Sunday's and I love living in this small community where God has seen fit to place us at this time of our lives. Most of the people have grown up here and have known each other since grade school but they have welcomes Mickey & I (strangers!) into their midst with open arms.
By the way, Saturday was lovely, too!!!! We went out in the evening to the pizza shop and when we got home we could tell Marc had been here. We were so sorry we missed him........as soon as we were saying this here he came driving back into the drive way. He had seen us in his rear-view mirror as he was heading out on the highway and we had turned into our addition from the other direction. DeAnn was with him, actually he was bringing over things for a garage sale we are hoping to have this week-end, IF it doesn't rain AGAIN. They came in and stayed awhile and we had a really nice visit. Even showed DeAnn some childhood photos of Marc. Having all the pictures on the computer in files is such a blessing!!!

I am one happy, blessed woman!
